But as Victoria posted a gushing message to her husband saying she “loves and misses” him, representatives said the unfounded gossip was “bizarre” and “fake”.

The former Spice Girl wrote next to the snap on Instagram: “Morning cuddles x So much love. We love and miss u @davidbeckham.”

A spokeswoman for the couple said: “There is no statement due, no divorce, and a lot of Chinese whispers and fake social media news.”

“This is all very bizarre and an embarrassing waste of time.”

Bookmakers had suspended betting on the couple splitting

Victoria Beckham gushes over husband David Beckham in TV interview
It comes after bookmakers released a statement announcing they had  suspended betting on the couple splitting, fuelling the speculation even further.

A spokesman Paddy Power said: “We’ve decided to suspend betting on the separation between Posh and Becks.”

The pair met at a charity football match at Old Trafford, Manchester in 1997 and just a year later the couple were engaged after David got down on one knee at a dinner.

Later in 1998 Posh announced she was pregnant with their first child and Brooklyn was born in March 1999.

On July 4 1999 — exactly four months after Brooklyn’s birth — the pair were married at Luttrellstown Castle, Castleknock, Republic of Ireland.

Their second son Romeo was born in September 2002.

In 2003 Posh and the family moved with David to Spain following his transfer from Manchester United to Real Madrid.
