Coronation Street villain Damon’s real intentions for Sarah revealed after return

Viewers tuning into Coronation Street on Friday night saw a familiar face back on the ITV soap.

Coronation Street's Damon Hay returned to the ITV soap on Friday night

Damon Hay was shown in prison, visited by former love rival and enemy Adam Barlow. Adam wanted to get to the bottom of a voicemail message Damon had left for his ex Sarah Platt.

Sure there was more to it, Adam paid him a visit to find out what he wanted. Amid spoilers revealing Damon would make contact with Sarah, his true reasons for the message and his true intentions for his ex were revealed in the latest episode.

Adam had heard a message on Sarah’s phone where Damon claimed he wanted to help her, amid daughter Bethany Platt’s hospital dash. Bethany was fighting for her life after a botched cosmetic procedure.

With her family needing to raise money for her treatment abroad and to bring her home, Damon had heard about the situation and made contact. But is Damon really keen to help Sarah, or could be have something else planned?

Adam feared it was the latter and that Damon was up to no good. Worried, he went to see Damon and asked him what he wanted and if he was trying to mess with Sarah’s head.

Adam asked: “I want to know what you are playing at. Does this money exist or are you trying to mess with Sarah’s head?” Damon fumed at him and suggested he was still bitter over Sarah cheating on him with Damon.

Damon then said: “You need to let this go mate… this, us. You still think we’re fighting over Sarah. Its over we both lost her. But I still love her. Whatever you think of me and whether you trust me or don’t, it doesn’t matter.

“The only thing that matters is I can get my hands on some money to help Bethany. So either you tell Sarah or I will have to pick up the phone and tell her myself.” Adam then decided he would tell Sarah, and that Damon was being genuine.

As he told his uncle Daniel Osbourne, Bethany’s partner, he was called out. Daniel reminded him the money was from an armed robbery and it should not be used.

Adam was told by Daniel to delete the voicemail message off Sarah’s phone and not say a word. But given Bethany’s situation and the family’s desperation for money, will he really keep it from Sarah?
