Cindy Crawford shared a throwback photo of herself posing with Princess Diana as she recalled visiting Kensington Palace following her ‘cameo’ in Netflix‘s The Crown.

The iconic supermodel, 57 – who recently enjoyed a casual date night with husband Rande Gerber in Malibu – shared a snippet from the show’s sixth season where a young Prince William, played by Ed McVey, had posters of models on his wall.

In the scene, Prince Philip – played by Jonathan Pryce – asked William who the women were, which he replied with, ‘Claudia Schiffer, Cindy Crawford and Naomi Campbell.’

‘A little cameo on @thecrownetflix,’ Crawford typed in the caption. ‘I still vividly remember visiting Kensington Palace to meet Diana and a teenage William (who had just discovered the “Super Models”).’

She also uploaded the clip to her Instagram stories, followed by the throwback image that was taken when she met the late Princess of Wales.

Underneath, she added both a white heart and dove emoji.

The photo linked back to a post she shared in 2017 where Cindy explained how the meeting came to be – which turned out to be ‘a cute surprise’ for William and Harry.

At the time, the beauty penned, ‘Remembering this inspiring woman today. This photo was taken at Kensington Palace.’

‘Princess Diana had somehow got the number to my office and called herself to ask for me. My assistant was in shock!’ she added.

‘We finally connected and she asked if the next time I was in London I would come by for tea – I think Prince William was just starting to notice models and she thought it would be a cute surprise for him and Prince Harry.’

‘I was nervous and didn’t know what to wear, but remember as soon as she came into the room and we started talking, it was like talking to a girlfriend. She was a class act and showed us all what a modern day princess should be. Rest In Peace.’

At the time Cindy had the chance to meet Princess Diana, her eldest son William was just 16-years-old.

In 2020, while talking to close friend and model Naomi Campbell on the No Filter With Naomi series on YouTube, Crawford revealed that she had been ‘so intimidated’ when she first met Diana.

'A little cameo on @thecrownetflix,' Crawford typed in the caption. 'I still vividly remember visiting Kensington Palace to meet Diana and a teenage William (who had just discovered the "Super Models")'

Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber enjoy Christmas bash together

‘I was so intimidated meeting Princess Diana and being at Kensington Palace and how just completely down to earth she was, because there’s so much protocol and I guess, not being English, I don’t understand some of it,’ she explained.

The star continued, ‘I feel like she was in jeans and a cashmere sweater. Not barefoot, but almost that vibe of being super laid back.’

Naomi had also met Princess Diana in the past and stated, ‘I loved Princess Diana, I just loved her. Humble, how down-to-earth and I’m just blessed to know her for the time that I did.’

Cindy has also been filtering through a busy schedule amid the holiday season, and recently attended a Christmas bash with husband Rande Gerber.

She shared a cute clip of both she and the businessman striking fun poses as a camera circled around them.

At the bottom of the video, text was added that read: ‘Happy Holidays! Caroling At The Park House 2023.’
