Britain’s Got Talent guest judge KSI found himself overcome with emotion as he discussed his personal struggles on BBC The One Show.

Known for amassing followers since starting his YouTube channel in 2009, KSI is ready to step into Bruno Tonioli’s shoes for the 18th series of BGT.

While chatting with hosts Alex Jones and Alex Scott, the 31-year-old rapper and boxer, whose real name is Olajide Olayinka Williams Olatunji, revealed: “My music shows different stages of my life, the ups and downs. With Low, it is more of a personal song and I show a more personal side to me.”

He opened up further, acknowledging the challenges of fame: “I struggle with expressing how I feel in terms of being the public figure that I am. There are a lot of things that I have to deal with in terms of juggling my work life with my private life and making sure my private life isn’t too out there.”

Taking a courageous stand on mental health, KSI revealed his own experiences with therapy: “I’m happy to admit that I’ve been to see a therapist in my life and I know there’s a stigma about going to therapy and being seen as weak but it isn’t and I see it as being strong.”

He ended by advocating for mental wellbeing: “It is good to make sure that you are physically fit and also mentally fit. I’d say if you are having problems especially mentally, it’s ok to talk to someone about it,” reports Wales Online.

Speaking about his upcoming BGT appearance, he said: “I’m keeping Bruno’s seat warm and I’m only there for a few episodes.”

He continued: “I’m looking for incredible talent and I know the UK is full of it. I’m excited to take it all in. A lot of people think I’m going to be a tough critic because I come from the online world.”

Quizzed on what will impress him on the show, KSI confessed: “Honestly I have no idea but I just know there is going to be good content and good people who will come in with good talent. Either way it’s going to be great and I can’t wait for it.”
