BBC Strictly Come Dancing fans spot major ‘clue’ bosses want rid of pairing

Fans of Strictly Come Dancing are adamant they’ve spotted a clue BBC bosses are after one couple to leave the show.

Viewers of the popular contest remain convinced a particular couple will once again found themselves in the dance off. And they’ve claimed to have spotted a specific “clue” that BBC bosses want the pairing removed from the show.

Toyah Willcox and Neil Jones remain among the favourites to be eliminated this weekend and the duo were chosen to go second on Saturday. They performed their Samba routine during Movie Week, but came out with low scores in her The Little Mermaid-inspired offering.

However, fans of the show believe there was something more certain than the poor scores that will see the couple exit the dance show. Taking to Twitter/X fans let their feelings known on Toyah and Neil being in the “death slot”.

One user wrote: “Toyah has the death slot, seems like they want her to go now that she’s made it to Movie Week.” Another agreed, writing: “A Samba and Toyah is in the death spot. OH DEAR!”

And a third noted the producers’ decision, adding: “Lol @ production doing Toyah and Neil no favours by dumping them in the death slot.”

The death slot – being the second to compete – is said to be the place in the show’s running order that is least likely to see the couple succeed.

The apparent “certainty” of Toyah and Neil’s fate comes after they narrowly escaped exiting last week. They battled in the dance off against Tom Dean and Nadiya Bychkova, just scraping through.

Toyah was placed as the bookies’ favourite to leave this week. Speaking to The Express this Friday, Betway spokesperson Chad Yeomans said: “Even after channelling her inner Tina Turner to avoid elimination last week, the spotlight remains firmly on Toyah Willcox as she’s still the 1/1 favourite to depart this weekend.” According to Chad, Neil’s choice of dance was also likely to be linked to the pair’s downfall: “Toyah and Neil will be dancing the difficult Samba to ‘Poor Unfortunate Souls’ from The Little Mermaid, and many punters feel it may be a step too far for her to pull off convincingly!”

Betway placed Chris McCausland among the favourites to dazzle judges this week as well as the viewers at home: “As we head into Movie Week, he’s set to jive to the Wayne’s World theme and remains the runaway favourite to win the show at 11/8.”

Chris became the first blind contestant on the show. A dance expert recently explained how the comedian, 47, would have been training for his dances. Rashmi Becker, who runs ballroom dancing classes for blind people at Step Change Studios believes Chris would have used physical cues from Dianne to work out where to move.
