Mike Tyson is being sued A$7 million for an alleged rape case from the 1990s

Mike Tyson is reportedly being sued by a New York woman claiming he allegedly raped her in a limo in the early 1990s.

New York Post reports that the anonymous woman is seeking A$7 million (£4m, US$5m) in damages.

She alleges that the incident happened after the two met at a popular nightclub in Albany and that the incident has caused her ‘physical, psychological, and emotional injury’ in the years since.

The report claims that the case doesn’t have an exact date for the alleged attack but it happened sometime during the early 1990s.

The alleged time coincides with Tyson’s previous rape conviction of 18-year-old beauty pageant contestant Desiree Washington in Indianapolis.

The 56-year-old served three years in prison following his conviction.

He has maintained his innocence in that case.

The current legal action was filed under New York’s Adult Survivors Act which gives sexual assault victims a one-year window to file lawsuits over incidents that happened years ago.

The alleged victim claims that she and Tyson ran into each other at a place called ‘Septembers’ before she later got into his limo after he offered to pick up her friend and take the both of them to a party.

She alleges that the boxer immediately started touching and kissing her despite telling him ‘no several times’ and asking him to stop.

The affidavit reads: “He then pulled my pants off and violently raped me.”

The document does not say whether the driver was inside the vehicle at the time of the alleged rape.

The woman is remaining anonymous in order to pose a further risk of ‘mental harm, harassment, ridicule, or personal embarrassment’.

Her attorney Darren Seilback says that the office investigated her allegations thoroughly and determined they were ‘highly credible’.

Tyson was one of the most respected athletes inside the boxing ring in the 1980s and 1990s.

However, the former heavyweight champion’s life outside of the sport often saw his in-ring prowess slewed with controversy.

SPORTbible reached out to Mike Tyson’s representatives for comment.

Fans are convinced that despite the light-hearted face-off that Paul was fearing for his life

Jake Paul's 'life flashed before his eyes' as Tyson Fury gatecrashes his interview as he's trash-talking John Fury

Jake Paul’s mouth almost got him into a whole lot of trouble.

The internet sensation has (again) pencilled in a date with Tommy Fury in a matchup that is a year in the making.

The pair confronted each other on the weekend, with the trash-talking well and truly in overdrive.

The YouTuber-turned-boxer was being interviewed as he began to dish some dirt on Fury’s father John, claiming he ‘doesn’t know s**t about boxing’.

However, Paul was almost left with pie on his face as his ‘life flashed before his eyes’ as a surprises gatecrasher walked into the room, as you can see in the hilarious video below.

As Paul finishes his sentence a concerned look makes its way onto his face as the heavyweight legend Tyson Fury walks into the room.

Although, it’s all fun and games as Fury runs over to the 26-year-old and pretends to lay a punch.

The pair embrace as Fury congratulates him on signing on for the fight on February 26.

However, fans are convinced that despite the light-hearted face-off that Paul was fearing for his life upon realising who had entered the room.

One said: “You could literally see the fear.”

Another wrote: “Jake’s life flashed before his eyes.”

A third added: “Absolutely s**t his pants.”

And even Paul agreed as he sat down after Tyson had left the room.

He told the cameras: “I really thought he was going to f***ing punch me when he came in.”

But it seems Tyson is as excited about the fight between his brother and The Problem Child as anyone.

    PA Images / Alamy

He shared some thoughts on the fight, saying: “The two guys are putting it on. They’re both undefeated and whoever loses is pretty much f***ed, I think.

“There’s not a lot to say. It’s like me, when you speak a lot of s*** you have to back it up and that’s it.

“I’ve been doing these for years, 30-odd times in a row and now it’s time for the big boys to do it. I’m excited, I’m really excited.”

The fight is set to take place in Saudi Arabia on February 26.

Tommy was forced to pull out in December 2021 due to a rib injury and then pulled out again in August 2022 due to a US visa issue.

“Spice it up a little bit, get in his face a bit more, and ruffle his feathers.”

Tyson Fury wants brother Tommy to headbutt Jake Paul in their blockbuster fight

Tyson Fury reckons his younger brother Tommy should ‘spice up’ his grudge match with Jake Paul by, well, head butting the YouTuber.

Former Love Island star Tommy will finally get to settle his differences with Jake when the two meet inside the ring in Saudi Arabia this weekend.

The duo, for whatever reason, do not like each other and have taken every opportunity given to trash-talk their rival – some of the jarring being below-the-belt, it has to be said.

The bad blood boiling under the surface has finally reached tipping point and the undefeated boxers now have the chance to get their hands on one another.

But instead of instructing his younger brother to simply out-box his opponent on fight night, heavyweight world champion Tyson Fury has a better idea.

“It’s a good fight and they’re good dance partners,” Tyson told BT Sport.

“I think Tommy needs to do a bit more talking, actually.

“Spice it up a little bit, get in his face a bit more, and ruffle his feathers. Grab him by the blonde hair and nut him maybe, I dunno.”

It pains us to admit it, but this is a fascinating match-up.

For Tommy, given his bloodline and lineage coming from a boxing family, the expectation rests squarely on his shoulders – even though he’s been relatively untested to this day.

As for Disney kid-turned-boxer Jake, he has been talking a big game and this (someone under the age of 40 who is actually a boxer) is arguably his toughest test yet.

Either way, one person will exit the arena with their undefeated record in tact – the other won’t.

“I see Tommy getting him out of there in around about five or six rounds,” Tyson added.

“I don’t think it will go early, as he (Jake) can box a little bit, I’ve seen him boxing and he’s getting better every month.

“Tommy should get to him and if he doesn’t I’d like to see a knockout either way, for sure.”

The two-time heavyweight champion will keep his attention on the boxing ring.

Tyson Fury misses out as Morecambe FC announce takeover by football's youngest owner

Tyson Fury’s dreams of owning a Football League club look to have been shattered after Morecambe FC announced their new owner.

Sarbjot Johal, a 20-year-old businessman, has been provisionally selected as the new owner of the League One club, subject to approval from the Football League.

It’s a decision that is likely to raise eyebrows across the divisions, with Johal set to become the youngest football club owner in the country in the process.

Speaking to talkSPORT in October 2022, Fury – who owns all of the training facilities at the League One club – revealed that he had been offered the chance to buy the club:

“I’ve been offered to buy Morecambe Football Club. I own all the training facilities anyway and the training gym. So, who knows? You might be looking at a football club owner.”

It is understood that Fury went ahead and engaged in talks with the club’s directors with a view to buying his local club, however, he opted against doing so, with Johal – who already had an equity stake in the club – seizing the opportunity instead.

The decision was announced by Shrimps co-chairman Graham Howse in a statement posted to the club’s official website:

“It is fair to say the sale process hasn’t progressed as quickly as we all would have liked – that said, my understanding is that exciting times are ahead both on and off the pitch.

Sarbjot Johal is eager to start the project to take the Club on to a new level, subject to satisfactorily navigating the EFL Owners and Directors’ test. Sarbjot, through his company Sarb Capital, has recently purchased equity in the Club, injecting more than useful income into us.

I am, along with Sarbjot, keen that the process should now move on at pace to come to a positive conclusion.”

The decision to allow Johal to take charge of the club has come under scrutiny, with the Lancaster Guardian reporting that Johal’s businesses – Vitanic Limited and Lovely Drinks – do not have adequate funding for such a deal.

It is alleged that as per Companies House documents, Vitantic’s latest accounts have just £74,882 worth of capital, with Lovely Drink’s showing just £80,925 worth of shareholder’s funds.

The decision on whether Johal will be approved as the new owner of Morecambe FC will be announced in due course, but for Tyson Fury, his sporting focus remains on his illustrious boxing career.

  • Francis Ngannou agrees to fight Tyson Fury in a cage with Mike Tyson as the referee

Francis Ngannou agrees to fight Tyson Fury in a cage with Mike Tyson as the referee

It doesn’t get any bigger than this.

Francis Ngannou agrees to fight Tyson Fury in a cage with Mike Tyson as the referee

Francis Ngannou has answered the call-out for the extravagant hybrid boxing match up against Tyson Fury.

Fans and the boxers themselves have been clamouring for the mega heavyweight fight ever since it was announced that the Cameroon fighter had left the UFC.

Upon his release the former UFC heavyweight champion said he was down to fight some of the best big men in the world – the likes of Anthony Joshua and the Gypsy King.

And the WBC Heavyweight Champion was more than happy to oblige.

    ESPN

Fury recently spoke to Radio Rahim where he put out the challenge, with a few interesting stipulations.

He said, via MMA Fighting: “Francis Ngannou, I know you’re out of contract with the UFC.

“You want to earn some big boy money? Come see ‘The Gypsy King’ and let’s do a big, big fight for the baddest MF on the planet.”

But Fury wasn’t just after any regular boxing bout.

He added: “Let’s kick it up spicy, in a cage, four-ounce gloves under Queensbury [rules] and let’s have a badass referee like ‘Iron’ Mike Tyson. Did I just sell that to the world?”

Iron Mike officiating these two behemoths going at it – inject it into our veins.

And it seems now Ngannou thinks it’s a fantastic idea as well.

Ngannou posted a definitive response to Fury’s demands by replying to a video of Fury’s call-out.

He responded to each stipulation with a tick before asking: “What else?”

The 36-year-old then signed off the quote tweet as the ‘Baddest Man on the Planet’.

It would be a surprise if this fight doesn’t come to fruition, with Ngannou admitting ‘we all need this fight’.

He told Canal Afrique: “Let me remind you that Tyson Fury and I have been warming up on social media for more than two years.

“Obviously, we all need this fight. It’s been long enough.

“Hopefully we have the possibility of dotting the I’s.”

They may have to put a pause on those plans for the time being with the Englishman on a collision course with Oleksandr Usyk in April.

Promoter Frank Warren said: “The fight will 100% take place on the last Saturday in April.

“Where it takes will be determined within the next six or seven days.”

“If we can’t do what we’re being asked to for Tyson and Usyk, then the fight will take place in the UK and we’ll have time to promote it and so forth.”

“If it goes to the Middle East, it’s because they will pay a premium for the World Cup of boxing.”

Tyson Fury also spoke about a potential fight with Francis Ngannou and Oleksandr Usyk.

'Man's dead in my eyes' - Tyson Fury ends Anthony Joshua with brutal insult, has no interest in fighting him

Don’t hold your breath for Tyson Fury vs. Anthony Joshua as the ‘Gypsy King’ has absolutely no interest in the all-British showdown, ruthlessly saying his rival is ‘dead’ in his eyes.

The undefeated WBC heavyweight king stopped Dillian Whyte and Dereck Chisora last year as he looks for an undisputed clash against Oleksandr Usyk, who holds the WBA (super), IBF, WBO and The Ring Magazine world titles.

However, if he fails to land a monstrous bout with the Ukrainian star, then the 34-year-old is eyeing a fight with former UFC champion Francis Ngannou.

Where does ‘AJ’ fit in the picture? Well, Fury has ‘zero’ interest in facing the ex-world heavyweight champion and said he’s ‘dead’ in his eyes.

“I don’t even [want to] go there anymore. Finished. No interest in any AJ questions. Zero. Man’s dead in my eyes,” he said exclusively to SPORTbible.

“There’s no business between me and him to be done. Finished. From 2017 to, however long it’s been, 2022 – trying to make a fight. So, it’s not happening.”

Fury also doubled down on his outrageous hybrid offer to Ngannou, insisting they meet in a cage rather than a boxing ring.

“My offer to Ngannou is on the table. Like I said, if Usyk don’t fight then I’ll be looking to make the Ngannou fight,” he added.

“I’m going to do a two-fight deal in a boxing ring and in the cage. I’ve never asked him to fight in the boxing ring. I always said the cage. The deal was cage, four-ounce gloves – let’s get it on.

“In a boxing ring it would be a pointless contest. It’d be like me fighting someone at the local gym – bodybuilding gym. But in a cage with four once gloves on, anything can happen.”

Of course, Ngannou is free to fight Fury, having left the UFC following a protracted contract dispute.

The 36-year-old, who left the promotion as UFC heavyweight king, has pursued a fight against Fury, Joshua as well as Deontay Wilder.

And Fury is keen to face the French-Cameroonian, but maintains that he isn’t looking to face him under MMA rules.

“Don’t know I’ve never seen the guy box,” he said when asked about Ngannou’s stand-up skills. “He’s been a UFC champion so you never know. No interest in actually fighting in MMA. I’m a stand-up fighter so wrestling around the floor is not what I’m into.”

On the threat Usyk provides in the heavyweight division, Fury continued: “I think he’s a tough contest for anybody. All these so-called contenders and people, he’s tough for them. But he’s not tough for me. Because I am the hardest.”

Asked to choose his next opponent between Usyk and Ngannou, he replied in typical Fury fashion.

“Not really bothered. Either one. Because I’ll smash them up easily,” he said. “Why not just have like a tag team match, where they can tag each other in and out during 12 rounds. F**k it! Make it 15, five-minute rounds, with 30 seconds rest and then they can tag each other in and out right the way through.”

How a fake tweet back in 2021 started the beef between Jake Paul and Tommy Fury

The origin of the beef between Jake Paul and Tommy Fury can be stemmed from a fake, mischievous post from a notable Twitter joker.

The wait is nearly over for Paul vs. Fury as their Saudi Arabia showdown edges closer following a heated build-up, which saw both fighters clash at the official weigh-ins.

They’ve traded barbs leading up to their eight-round bout, but the root of their rivalry comes from a fake tweet.

Boxing Twitter user Del G – @ReallyNiceDerek – posted ‘viewership’ figures of selected events, including Canelo Alvarez vs. Avni Yıldırım as well as a Frank Warren show which featured the 23-year-old Brit.

Del G listed Fury’s ratings as a peak of 1.9 million while claiming Canelo drew a peak audience of 105,000.

Fury’s older brother, Tyson, fell for the figures and even aimed a tweet at ‘The Problem Child’.

He tweeted: “Massive congratulations to @TommyTNTFury for smashing records on @BTSport.

“Tommy slaughtered [the] competition over the weekend! Including America’s biggest boxing star Canelo Alvarez. Wow, just wow.

    “@JakePaul where you at?”

That post provoked Paul, who responded with a video message as he mocked ‘TNT’.

Jake Paul’s dad hijacks interview to discuss fighting John Fury

“I wake up and see Tyson Fury, the heavyweight champ, tweets me,” he said.

“I get to the bottom of the tweet and I see that he like calls me out to fight someone and the tweet’s about his brother.

“I’m like, ‘I didn’t even know he had a brother,’ and he’s calling me out to fight his brother.

“I like Tyson Fury, I don’t want beef with Tyson Fury, but if Tyson Fury took a s*** it would be this little brother. He’s literally just like this little kid.

“But my point is – Dear Tyson Fury’s little brother, if you wanna fight me don’t let your big bro do s*** for you, log on to Instagram or Twitter and call me out yourself.”

He did exactly that and over a year later, they are set to settle their feud in the ring.

Social media explodes with memes as fans celebrate Jake Paul's first ever loss

Twitter has gone into meltdown with the internet seemingly coming together to celebrate Jake Paul’s defeat at the hands of Tommy Fury.

In the wake of Paul’s first ever loss, social media sleuths have wasted no time in churning out some hilarious but pretty savage memes which best reflect their feelings on the event.

Some of them are absolutely brutal.

YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul was handed his first professional defeat, losing via split decision to ex-Love Island winner Tommy Fury.

Paul produced a respectable performance, even knocking his opponent down to the canvas on a couple of occasions.

But when it came to the judges scorecards, it was Fury who received the nod in Saudi Arabia.

In his first bout against an actual boxer Paul fell agonisingly short, but instead of praising the 26-year-old for his efforts, fans were quick to bring him back down to earth.

Before Fury had even got his hand raised, people had already started flooding social media with memes trolling Paul.

Here’s a look at a few of them:

Speaking after the bout, Paul said: “I’ll come back. I think we deserve that rematch. It was a great fight, a close fight.

“I don’t know if I agree with the judges. I got a 10-8 round twice, so it is what it is. This is boxing.

“Look, I’ve already won in life man, I’ve already won in every single way. I have an amazing family, amazing friends, amazing work ethic and I’ve made further than I ever thought that I would and beyond.

“This is definitely a humbling experience. I’ll take it on the chin, get back in the gym and we can run it back because I think we put on an amazing show for the fans tonight.”

Tyson Fury loses huge bet despite brother Tommy beating Jake Paul

Tyson Fury has lost his bet despite brother Tommy beating Jake Paul in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia on Sunday night.

Fury’s younger brother Tommy finally entered the ring with American YouTuber turned boxer Paul as the pair battled it out under the lights in the Middle East.

After eight rounds of fighting, Tommy was announced as the winner via a split decision.

Prior to the fight, Tommy’s brother and heavyweight world champion Fury placed a £100,000 bet for him to win but ended up losing the bet.

Fury’s bet did not come in due to the fact that he placed a bet on Tommy winning via stoppage, which he didn’t do.

Fury told iFL TV prior to the bout: “Tommy knocks out 90 per cent of people that he spars with or drops them at least, so he’s a very hard puncher and Jake Paul will find that out tomorrow

“I’ve got 100 racks on it for an inside the distance stoppage, so if he loses, then I’ll lose 100 bags as well. I’ve got him at 3-1. I know Tommy is going to knock him out. What is a little bit stupid is I see all these experts and professional boxers picking Jake Paul over Tommy. I’m like, ‘What the hell are these guys watching?’

“Because Tommy will absolutely deck him. I think Tommy can get him out of there whenever really. It’ll definitely be inside the distance and it won’t be a points job for sure. Tommy wins by knockout. I can smell the fear and he [Jake] is rattling. He is rattling like a little b**** and he is going to get knocked out.”

After getting the hard-earned victory, Tommy said: “For the past two years this is all that has consumed my life.

“Everybody thought I was running scared but tonight I made my own legacy.

“This is my first main event, I am going to get bigger and better and if he wants a rematch, bring it on.”

Whilst Paul said: “All respect to Tommy, he won. Don’t judge me by my wins, judge me by my losses.

“I don’t know if I agree with the judges, it is what it is but that is the boxing world.”

“He Has a Really Good Technique,” Says Mike Tyson When Asked if He Would Win Against Floyd Mayweather in a Street Fight

Mike Tyson is one of the most acclaimed fighters of all time. The Heavyweight champion has admittedly been in the news for the interesting answers he gives during interviews, from unpopular takes to professional insights into the world of boxing. Tyson has an eyebrow-raising answer for everything, and rightly so, given the work, he has done in the sport over the years. His point of view on the business is very much valid.

His thoughts on his contemporaries and other fighters are something fans constantly look out for. For a long time now, people have pondered the various permutations of his fight with names like Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao, and he has some interesting things to say about these matchups. But how well will these legends fare against each other if thrown into a street fight?

A petition to have Mike Tyson and Floyd Mayweather Jr. in a street fight

In an interview with GQ Sports, ‘Iron Mike’ spoke candidly about his contemporary, Mayweather. Answering a Quora question in the interview that asked who would win in a street fight between the two fighters, Tyson said he would definitely excel at it. He stated, “I think I would kick Floyd’s ass in a street fight. There wouldn’t even be a match. But probably if I were his size, he would outpoint me. He has a really good technique in his style.”

Boxing news: Mike Tyson declares he'd kick Floyd Mayweather's ass in a street fight | talkSPORT

Praising Mayweather further, Tyson believes that the former is “great” at what he does. However, such a street fight would bring the boxing world to a standstill. The stark difference between them remains that Floyd Jr. is a point fighter, winning his bouts through decisions, while Tyson remains popular for finishing his bouts through knockouts.
