Harry Kane has been reassured by Harry Redknapp that trophies will come, while also being nudged in the direction of an MLS pay day at Inter Miami.

The England international had hoped that a 2023 transfer to Bayern Munich would bring his barren run on the silverware front to a close,

but the German giants have just ended a rare trophyless campaign. Kane is, however,

tied to a long-term contract at the Allianz Arena and is captain of a Three Lions squad that is strong enough to compete for continental and global honours.

With that in mind, former Tottenham boss Redknapp has – while speaking in association with the free to play fantasy game at Sorare that will see him compete

with supporters for bragging rights at Euro 2024 this summer – told GOAL of Kane’s silverware hunt: “It would be nice obviously for him to win a trophy.

I’m sure he will eventually – whether it is with Bayern Munich or England. No-one has won a trophy with England since 1966, so that’s not an easy thing to do as an England player. Club-wise, he’s an amazing player. He is the best centre-forward in the world. He can do absolutely everything. He’s got a big opportunity this summer to win a trophy with England. We have got the best squad in the tournament and I don’t see any reason why we shouldn’t go all the way and win it.”

Quizzed on whether the lack of major honours will be annoying Kane, Redknapp added: “No, it won’t. He won’t be thinking about it. Look at how many goals he has scored again at Munich this year – a crazy amount. He has done his job. There are players that win trophies that are bang average but happen to be in a good team. He’s a fantastic player. He will go down in history at Tottenham as the leading goalscorer of all-time. Nobody will probably beat that. He’s a special player. I don’t think it will be bothering him. I do think he’ll win trophies before he retires.”

Kane severed ties with Spurs as they were unable to deliver on his ambition, and Redknapp said when asked if the club’s all-time leading goalscorer could retrace steps to north London at some stage: “I doubt it. I doubt he will want to go back. It’s always a difficult one, going back. Bayern Munich have had a bad year, but it’s a massive club. Vincent Kompany going in there, I’m sure he can’t wait to work with Harry Kane. He can build a team around him next year. I would be surprised if he came back to Tottenham.”

He added when pressed on a possible return to the Premier League: “Eventually, yeah, I could see him. It depends how long he stays at Munich. I don’t think he’d want to come back at the end of his career if he’s starting to be on the wane a bit. While he is doing well, I can see him staying in Germany for the foreseeable future. He has gone there to do a job and win things and he won’t be happy until he achieves that.”

While a second Premier League stint may not appeal to Kane, he could be tempted to follow in the footsteps of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo by heading to either MLS or the Saudi Pro League before hanging up his boots. Redknapp said of that prospect, with there an obvious project of appeal at Inter Miami: “He could do. Money is not going to be the key for him any more. But a big pay day at the end of his career to America and Miami, go and play for [David] Beckham’s team or somewhere, doesn’t sound too shabby does it? It sounds like quite a good idea.”

Kane’s deal at Bayern runs until 2027, with any further transfer talk being played down for now. He is fully focused on leading England into European Championship battle this summer, having already taken his record-breaking haul of goals for the Three Lions to 63.

David and Victoria Beckham even opened up about the toughest phase of their marriage.

From his football career, to what his former coach had to say about him, the docuseries took a deep dive into the 90s legend that is David Beckham.

It also looked at his relationship with his family, be it the decision he took which brought tears to Victoria’s eyes, to his dynamics with his parents.

His parents, although extremely supportive, had their share of disagreements with David. This is particularly true in the case of his father.

Here’s a peek at David’s dynamics with his mother and father.

The Beckham family

The early years of David’s life were all about football. Being the young sensation of Leytonstone at the time, David’s entire childhood was dedicated to improving his craft. Growing up with his father, Ted, mother, Sandra, and two sisters, David had a middle-class upbringing. David went on to train at the Bobby Charlton School, and playing for Manchester United was always his goal. His father, Ted was always a die-hard Manchester United fan and shaped David to be the same way, and aspired for him to play in Old Trafford someday.

David said the following about his parents in the Save Our Squad documentary on Disney+.

“My dad was my inspiration, I wanted to win for him.

“I wanted to play well for him and my mum as well, of course. My mum was the one that was driving me to training, to games, when my dad was working. I, as a parent now, realise how much my parents gave up for me.”

The trouble in paradise

The Netflix docuseries revealed Ted as someone who kept pushing David harder, no matter how much he achieved. But, this was shown in a good light. Despite all the pressure from his father, David was in awe of the way he was raised, with discipline and focus on his craft. But, it is said that his relationship with his dad went for a toss in 2002, when David and his sisters felt that Ted was responsible for the marriage between his parents breaking down.

He said the following in his documentary titled Beckham: My World.

“He loves my mum but he’s never been affectionate to her in front of my two sisters and me. He’s quite hard-faced and can be sarcastic.”

“He also gets fired up easily… The quality I like least in myself is my short temper. I think I get it from my dad.”

The untimely departure from United

Not only did the separation affect the father-son dynamics, but David’s departure from Manchester United did its damage as well. David’s departure from Manchester United was sudden.

And Ted allegedly heard about David’s move from United to Real Madrid through David’s agent, and that just didn’t sit well with him. In fact, Ted’s book even mentioned that David’s fame was one of the reasons he and his wife split up. As per The Express, he said:

“All the hype, all the stress, all the attention – it wasn’t a world we were used to, and it was very tough. By the end, all we had in common was football. We just drifted apart.”

Despite all this happening in the past, the Beckhams have fixed their relationship and seem closer than ever now. They seem to be on great terms, so much so that David was even the best man at his father’s wedding to Hilary Meredith.

Cruz was first seen with Tana in May 2022, but a source revealed they ended their relationship over the summer last year.

The busy actress is starring in the upcoming romantic comedy Land of Women as a woman whose seemingly perfect life is turned upside down when she discovers her husband owes millions to the mob.

The series is based on the novel La Tierra de las Mujeres by Sandra Barneda.

Longoria is also serving as an executive producer on the show which will debut on Apple+ June 26.

David Beckham is keen to sign Raphael Varane at Inter Miami this summer after the defender’s Manchester United exit, according to reports.

Varane, 31, departed Old Trafford after his contract expired at the end of the season and remains a free agent as several clubs weigh up a move for him.

According to The Mirror, the centre back has been sounded out about joining Inter Miami, where he would link up with both Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez.

 

Barcelona greats Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba are also at the Chase Stadium, having been lured to the United States to join Beckham’s star-studded franchise.

Varane moved to United from Real Madrid in July 2021 for an initial fee of £34million and made 93 appearances but left amicably after a string of injuries.

Inter Miami are top of the MLS table after 20 games and would be able to snap up Varane outside of the transfer window – which is open from July 18 to August 14.

Varane proved a popular figure during his time at United and won the Carabao Cup in 2023 before lifting the FA Cup on his final appearance for the club last season.

Ahead of the 2-1 victory against Manchester City at Wembley, he had confirmed he would be leaving in an emotional video message recorded for supporters.

The brand-new Netflix doc Beckham dropped on the streaming platform this week and sees David and Victoria address his alleged ‘affair’ with former glamour model, Rebecca, saying the media attention at the time was the ‘hardest period’ for both of them.

The world was catapulted into a massive media frenzy when the former glamour model, who was 26 at the time, claimed she had an affair with the footy star back in 2003 after being pictured inside a nightclub.

Since then, Rebecca has taken to Instagram to share the latest update in her life following the release of the docu-series.

During the Netflix doc, Victoria, 49, appears to allude to her husband’s alleged ‘affair’ – saying there was one time that saw her at her ‘most unhappy’.

The couple have previously denied that David, 48, had an affair when he was playing for Real Madrid in 2003 after the rumour mill went haywire.

While they didn’t specifically speak about the alleged extra-marital relationship in the new docu-series, they did address the media fallout at the time.

They married in 2012 and share two children together.

It seems miles away from the life of stardom, reality TV shows, Playboy shoots and one particularly controversial appearance in Channel 5’s The Farm back in 2004.

However, Rebecca does still document her life to her 20.8k followers on Instagram where she can be seen enjoying walks out in nature, practicing some yoga poses and walking her dogs.

And the latest post sees the yoga enthusiast taking to Instagram stories earlier today (6 October) to share with her followers news about the weather of all things.

Taken a little after 7.00am in the morning, the short clip showed Rebecca walking outside her home as she pans to a snowy winter wonderland garden scene.

“Hello Winter! Early as usual,” she captioned the post followed by a laughing, tongue out and smiling emojis with hearts around it.

She did not, however, address what Victoria and Beckham said in the doc.

“It was an absolute circus — and everyone loves it when the circus comes to town right? Unless you’re in it.”

When asked if she ‘resented’ David, Victoria said: “If I’m being totally honest, yes I did. It was the most unhappy I have ever been in my entire life.”

She went on to say that she ‘internalised’ a lot of trauma as a means of supporting her husband’s career.

“It wasn’t that I felt unheard because I was always mindful of the focus that he needed,” Victoria said.

“I have no regrets.”

Rebecca Loos has slammed David Beckham after his Netflix documentary brought the pair’s alleged 2003 affair back into the spotlight.

The eight-part Netflix docu-series Beckham first hit our screens a few weeks back (4 October) and sees David and Victoria open up about a whole array of hardships they’ve faced in their relationship – including the footy star’s alleged ‘affair’ with former glamour model Rebecca Loos.

Since then, Rebecca has spoken up about David bringing up the ‘affair’ again in a tell-all interview to Kate Garraway and Richard Madeley on Good Morning Britain. Have a look:

“But the angle bothered me, how he had played the narrative and how mis-leading it is – and how it made me look the bad person.”

She continued: “Of course I am also guilty, it’s not all him, but it was both of us. He’s not denied it, he’s never denied it.

“He said that my claims are ‘ludicrous’ – ludicrous is not denying it, ludicrous can be the truth. Ludicrous is a term used by lawyers to give to their clients to deflect attention. He’s never denied it.”

Richard then asked Rebecca how Victoria came across in the doc to which she replied: “Victoria was honest, she said there was a gap in their marriage. The documentary was very rehearsed, but she came across well.”

She went on: “By David not acknowledging responsibility, he is giving a message that it is OK to behave like this.

“I think that is the wrong message to give – my message is that you make mistakes, own up to them and move on.

“He says he is happily married, but there are many men who are happily married and have affairs.”

Sharon, who was a judge on the ITV show at the time, watched as Rebecca sang her version of Robert Palmer’s ‘Addicted to Love’ smash-hit alongside James Hewitt.

Hewitt himself was in the centre of his own media storm after it came to public attention in the mid-90s that he had an affair with Diana, Princess of Wales, while she was still married to then-Prince Charles.

After the duo finished up their performance, Sharon told them: “Good song choice for you two. Very appropriate song for you both to sing.”

Her comments didn’t stop there – far from it.

Then, offering individual comments to Rebecca, Sharon advised some pretty savage advice: “Mrs, you know what, if you get through tonight you should try doing tomorrow’s performance with your knickers on. Because it will help warm up your voice a bit more.”

Rebecca then responded: “Sharon, I didn’t expect to get a very nice comment from you because you’ve completely shunned me throughout this whole show, but that’s OK.”

Sharon then replied, declaring: “You’ve got a very bad vibe that comes from you.”

She also told James, who was once in the army, he ‘should be shot’ for his performance.

Louis Walsh then piped up, telling his fellow judge: “It wasn’t that bad Sharon, she carried the whole performance.”

As if things couldn’t get even more tense, Sharon then wrapped up her feedback praising one of Rebecca’s physical attributes.

“You’ve got very nice boobs though,” she concluded: “You’ve got a very good boob job.”

“It was the hardest period because it felt like the world was against us,” she said. “Here’s the thing – we were against each other if I’m being completely honest.”

Posh Spice added: “I can’t even begin to tell you how hard it was and how it affected me.

“It was a nightmare.”

Now, some two decades after the media frenzy – many of us will be wondering just where on earth 46-year-old Rebecca, who once worked as David’s PA, is and what she’s up to.

Well, for starters, she’s relocated to Norway and has seemingly swapped out a life in the headlines for a more nomadic lifestyle teaching yoga at a retreat with her new husband, Norwegian doctor Sven Christjar Skaiaa.

The pair welcomed their first child just five years on from the ‘affair’ scandal in 2008 and married by 2012.

They then had a second child together and relocated to mountain village, Hemsedal, to start a brand-new life.

It seems miles away from the life of stardom, reality TV shows, Playboy shoots and one particularly controversial appearance in Channel 5’s The Farm back in 2004.

However, Rebecca does still document her life to her 20.8k followers on Instagram where she can be seen enjoying walks out in nature, practicing some yoga poses and walking her dogs.

Earlier this month, a brand-new documentary dropped on Netflix all about one of the most iconic families in Britain – the Beckhams.

The eight-part Netflix docu-series Beckham was released a few weeks back (4 October) and sees David and Victoria open up about a whole bunch of difficulties they’ve faced in their relationship – including the alleged ‘affair’ with former glamour model Rebecca Loos.

Since then, Rebecca has finally broken her silence over the ‘affair’ claims and recalled how she once allegedly found the footy star in a bedroom with a model.

The new doc resurfaced the absolute media frenzy that rocked the world back in 2003 when Rebecca and David were pictured inside a nightclub together.

In the series, Posh and Becks said that the media attention at the time was the ‘hardest period’ for both of them.

“I can’t even begin to tell you how hard it was and how it affected me,” the mum-of-four says in the docuseries.

“It was a nightmare.

“It was an absolute circus – and everyone loves it when the circus comes to town right? Unless you’re in it.”

While Rebecca doesn’t appear in the documentary, she has now come forward to open up a little more about the situation.

Nearly two decades later, the 46-year-old recalled an evening at football legend Ronaldo Nazário’s residence on 22 September 2003.

“There was wonderful food, a samba band from Brazil, and flowing champagne,” she fondly remembered during an interview with the Daily Mail Sunday.

During the party, Rebecca claimed to have caught David ‘hiding at the bottom of the garden’ chatting to a Spanish model.

“That hurt,” recalled Rebecca, David’s former personal assistant.

She says her mobile then rang and it was Victoria asking over her husband.

“She’s upset because she’s calling David and he’s not answering,” Rebecca went on. “I said I didn’t know where he was… And she says, ‘Don’t hang up, go and find him.’

“I was like ‘Okay…’ ‘So it’s a bit awkward. I went into the house and up the stairs and I saw David’s two bodyguards outside a door.”

She went on to describe how she allegedly whispered ‘It’s Victoria!’ while miming holding a phone.

“He [one of the bodyguards] disappears,” Rebecca continued. “When he comes back David is with him. I can see the model in the background lying on the bed. I can see it’s a bedroom.

“I was fuming and I just looked at him, gave him the phone and said, ‘Your wife’.”

David then allegedly spoke quietly to his wife before giving Rebecca her phone back.

“I was so hurt,” she revealed. “It was just this awful feeling and I thought to myself, ‘You stupid fool’.

“But he had me, he had his claws into me, and I was at his beck and call.”
