Brenda Edwards has issued an update on her health on Instagram, after her appearances on Loose Women earlier this week caused some concern, with the star revealing a painful looking infection on one of her eyes.

A regular on the panel of the ITV lunchtime programme for years now, Brenda was on the line-up for episodes on both Monday and Tuesday, with the former X Factor star becoming a talking point online, due to one of her eyes being covered by a patch. With Brenda not addressing what was wrong while on air, fans took to social media to speculate what was wrong, as well as expressing their concerns.

Sharing a behind the scenes video from the Loose Women set on her Insta grid on Tuesday, Brenda spoke openly about what was up, telling her many followers ” I just wanted to say thank you for the messages of support for my eye infection.

“It’s got a bit worse today, I was hoping it would get better when I went to bed last night and woke up but it’s got a little bit worse today so I am going to be going to the eye hospital to see if they can figure out what’s going on.”

Brenda has more positive news to share with fans 24 hours later when, when she returned to her Instagram to write: “Thanks for all the love everyone. I’ve got some antibiotics and eye cream now so should be on the mend”

The caption was accompanied by a video in which Brenda actually lifted up the patch to reveal her eye was swollen shut.
