In the photo collection, Reba, 68, posed with singer John Legend, 45, Chance the Rapper, 30, and country singing duo Dan Smyers, 36, and Shay Mooney, 31.

The country singer seemed to be mocking her co-stars as she spoke to them on a bullhorn.

As the collection continued, Dan & Shay were caught on camera enjoying themselves while sitting in the red chairs.

In 2023, the country duo joined the judge’s panel for Season 25.

Although this is the first time a pair will sit on the panel, they served as Battle Advisors on Blake Shelton’s team in 2020.

    THE COMMENTS

In the comments section, viewers praised the Seven Minutes In Heaven singer while sharing their concerns for the first-timers.

“Not keen on this Dan and Shay situation. Why? Who are they really?” a critic trolled.

“Yes! #TeamReba all the way!” one fan cheered.

“I’m not sure about this Dan and Shay thing,” another critic added.

“Outside of Reba, the rest is kind of meh. She’s the real deal!” another fan gushed.

“Not liking the new judges sorry,” a fourth person wrote:

“Go #TeamReba! You should have broken up that row of males and put Reba in the middle! She looks outnumbered! However, she’s pretty feisty! So I’m not worried!” a commentator chimed.

The new season of The Voice begins February 26th on NBC and will stream on Peacock.

    PAST JUDGES

Rumors circulated that former coach Gwen Stefani, 54, would rejoin the panel.

However, the Don’t Speak singer was not announced in the new cast list.

Near the end of September 2023, the 54-year-old hitmaker returned with her co-stars for Season 24 of The Voice.

During Reba’s debut, Gwen cozied up to and sang with her, John, and Niall Horan, 30.

The Tremors scream queen filled in for the empty seat left by Gwen’s husband, Blake, 47, who retired from the show at the end of Season 23.

At the time, Blake left the talent competition show to spend more time for his family.

Throughout February, the God’s Country singer has been busy promoting his Back to the Honky Tonk tour and performed at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan.

Meanwhile, Blake’s wife has been preparing to take the stage again soon with her former band, No Doubt, at Coachella in April.

Gwen will reunite with her ex-bandmates – bassist Tony Kanal, guitarist Tom Dumont, and drummer Adrian Young – as they have not performed together in almost a decade.

The Voice fans slam ‘absurd’ and ‘dumb’ schedule change and claim they just ‘want to watch the performances’

THE Voice fans have taken issue with a new prominent schedule change for the reality singing competition.

Annoyed The Voice viewers headed to the show’s community on Reddit after finding out the knockout segment had been moved to the following week.

“Why are they waiting till next week to show the knockouts and not tonight?” asked the curious Redditor.

They were immediately met with answers, most of which were negative about the show.

“So dumb. This show is like 50% filler & reruns when the people just want to see all the performances,” one wrote.

“So tonight is basically a rerun?” another annoyed fan asked.

“But why that seems very absurd,” the original poster replied.

Other members of the Reddit community fielded guesses as to why the schedule change had happened.

“My guess is that it’s because of Easter Monday, but I could be wrong,” one suggested.

“Maybe because the NCAA tournament? Two big women’s games were on, so they might lose viewership,” wrote another.

    SCHEDULE SHAKEUP

The Voice has received additional backlash as of late since moving to Monday and Tuesday nights.

The show, which is currently airing its 25th season, made the change and got under fans’ skin with it.

The latest change meant viewers wouldn’t be able to watch The Voice until April 2.

Reruns of the sitcom Lopez vs. Lopez began airing instead as well as game show The Weakest Link.

That meant Monday’s episode, which fans had aired their issues about on Reddit, was a recap.

    FRUSTRATED FANS

Though schedule changes like these are common with The Voice and even shows like American Idol, it still attracted the ire of fans.

This frustration led to fans complaining about the change online once more, going so far as to say the quality was declining.

“I think part of the reason the show has gone downhill recently is cause of NBC. They give us two seasons a year but one is always super short and makes for a bad season cuz they rush it to make space for AGT (which I personally think is falling off too),” they explained, referencing the network’s other popular competition series, America’s Got Talent,” one viewer wrote.

“The year when we only got season 22 was so much better because the format gave the artists more opportunities to perform and there weren’t a ton of people going home each round,” they continued.

After making their point, other fans chimed in as well.

“Idk about y’all but I feel like the show genuinely fell off long ago,” another commented.

“We have had two seasons a year for most of the shows run (2012-2021). The only seasons where had one season in a year was Season 1 and Season 22.

“I just think some of these shows stay on longer than they need to be,” a third noted.

“I think it’s just a new scheduling issue because we didn’t have shortened seasons like this in the past,” one person said about the schedule change.

“I’ve always said that they should get rid of the instant save, the block & the playoff pass (and maybe replace the Knockouts with more live shows) since they make the show less about the performers,” a fourth suggested.

Blake Shelton takes savage swipe at Gwen Stefani on talk show for returning to The Voice after he quit

BLAKE Shelton has thrown shade at his wife Gwen Stefani for returning to The Voice in a new talk show interview.

While appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live! this week, Blake, 47, discussed his wife Gwen Stefani’s decision to return to The Voice – the very season that he decided to leave.

“You were on The Voice – and I can’t believe this – 23 seasons,” the talk show host began.

“And then as soon as you left, your wife Gwen came back to do the show.”

Blake replied: “Well I mean, I think I actually put out there to the press too, because everybody wants to know like ‘why are you walking away from the show?’

“And it’s like, well, for the family ya know. For more family time. And then the very next announcement was: ‘Gwen’s coming back!’

“So, maybe she doesn’t want too much family time. Money talks okay? Money talks in this industry,” he joked, taking a jab at his singer-songwriter spouse.

Jimmy chimed in: “Had you coordinated that? Cause it seems like it could’ve been handled better.”

The country star replied: “Not really. If it shows you anything, we are completely not involved in each other’s decision-making when it comes to our careers.”

    END OF THE ROAD

Blake revealed last October that he would be leaving The Voice after 12 years on the show.

He wrote on Instagram: “I’ve been wrestling with this for a while and I’ve decided that it’s time for me to step away from The Voice after next season.

“This show has changed my life in every way for the better and it will always feel like home to me.”

He finished: “It’s been a hell of a ride over these 12 years of chair turns and I want to thank everyone at The Voice from NBC, every producer, the writers, musicians, crew and catering people, you are the best.”

Gwen told Extra that his decision to quit was to make more time for his family.

She added: “It’s a lot of time away from the family. Those kinds of things, he just got to a point, he just wants time at his ranch, time to do the other things he loves to do.”

Despite this, Gwen rejoined the show in 2023 as a judge.

Gwen and Blake began dating in 2015 after meeting on The Voice and tied the knot in 2021.

    GWEN BEGONE?

But the No Doubt singer’s return to the singing competition has not gotten all rave reviews, with many viewers urging producers to fire her from the panel.

The pop star has faced criticism as fans complain about her live show habits.

During a recent episode of The Voice, viewers watched as judges were forced to pit two of their team members against one another.

The duos were tasked with singing the same song together, with judges then picking one singer as the winner of the challenge.

Many judges struggled with the decision but some more than others.

Gwen, in particular, appeared to have a hard time choosing who she wanted to dub victorious and it frustrated some The Voice viewers.

One critic complained on X, formerly Twitter: “Sick of Gwen never making a choice, didn’t miss her at all.”

While her fans are thrilled to have her back on the stage, others would rather she stayed away.

Lady A Beautifully Covered 2 of Reba McEntire’s Biggest Hits — in Front of Her

McEntire looked as proud as ever from the crowd!

Reba McEntire has some wonderful country hits in her repertoire, and in 2018, another talented country band got together to honor her in the best way.

Watch The Voice Mondays and Tuesdays at 8/7c on NBC and next day on Peacock.

At a Kennedy Center Honors event tributing McEntire, Lady A performed two gorgeous songs by McEntire herself — while she sat in the audience. They chose to do renditions of “Is There Life Out There” and “The Greatest Man I Never Knew,” and both were flawless.

Before the band’s performances, Lady A vocalist Hillary Scott gave a heartwarming speech about how McEntire has influenced her career. When she began to sing “Is There Life Out There,” the raw emotion on McEntire’s face as she watched from the audience was moving.

And when Lady A switched things up to sing “The Greatest Man I Never Knew,” Charles Kelly and Scott crooned the introspective lyrics together with passion. See the gorgeous performance, below.

About “Is There Life Out There” by Reba McEntire

Released in 1991, “Is There Life Out There” reached the top spot on the American Country Singles Chart in 1992. The narrative lyrics tell the story of a woman who begins to question her decision of settling down at a young age. The accompanying music video was noted for being one of the first to have lines of dialogue to explain the message behind the song.

“Is There Life Out There” by Reba McEntire lyrics

She married when she was 20
She thought she was ready, now she’s not so sure
She thought she’d done some living
But now she’s just wonderin’ what she’s living for
Now she’s feeling that there’s something more

Is there life out there? So much she hasn’t done
Is there life beyond her family and her home?
She’s done what she should, should she do what she dares?
She doesn’t want to leave, she’s just wonderin’, is there life out there?

    She’s always lived for tomorrow
She’s never learned how to live for today
Oh, she’s dyin’ to try something foolish
Do something crazy or just get away
Oh, something for herself for a change

The fourth single off Reba’s 17th album, For My Broken Heart, the touching song tells the story of someone wishing they were closer to a person who has passed away. It reached the Number 3 position on the Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks in 1992.

“The Greatest Man I Never Knew” by Reba McEntire lyrics

The greatest man I never knew
    Lived just down the hall
And every day we said, “Hello”
    But never touched at all
    He was in his paper
    I was in my room
How was I to know he thought I hung the moon?

The greatest man I never knew
    Came home late every night
He never had too much to say
Too much was on his mind
    I never really knew him
Oh, and now it seems so sad
Everything he gave to us, took all he had

Then the days turned into years
And the memories to black and white
He grew cold like an old winter wind
    Blowing across my life

The greatest words I never heard
    I guess I’ll never hear
The man I thought could never die
Has been dead almost a year

Oh, he was good at business
But there was business left to do
He never said he loved me
    Guess he thought I knew

The Season 25 Coach on The Voice has said that the song speaks to the “different hats I wear throughout the day.”
Entertainment superstar Reba McEntire, who’ll be a Coach on Season 25 of The Voice following her role as a Mega Mentor last season, knows that choosing certain songs can make a singer really pop.

McEntire has been there, and done that — including that time she put her distinctive country stamp on Beyonce’s 2008 hit “If I Were a Boy.”

Do You Remember When Reba McEntire Covered 'If I Were A Boy' By Beyoncé? | iHeart

Reba covers Beyonce’s “If I Were a Boy”

On June 18, 2010, McEntire wrapped her country-flavored twang around the contemplative ballad for a performance on Country Music Television’s Unplugged.

Later that same year, she performed the song at the Country Music Association (CMA) Awards and recorded and released a studio version for her album All the Women I Am. This rendition became the second single from the album.

In an interview, according to songfacts.com, McEntire noted that the song choice fit like a glove with the theme of the album. “Every song on the album portrays a different story for each woman in the song,” she said.

She added that the lyrics spoke to the various sides to her individual complexities. “Different personalities, different things, different hats I wear throughout the day.”

In her official music video for “If I Were a Boy,” which is about relationship double standards, McEntire’s jade green glamor gown is its own statement piece.

Reaction to Reba’s “If I Were a Boy”

In an interview with Billboard, Reba acknowledged that her cover of “If I Were a Boy” didn’t reach her greatest-hits levels. But there’s no denying her smoky voice sounds so good and her interpretation does the introspective number justice – and then some.

In its review of the song, Taste of Country praised Reba’s “churning, muscular take” along with her “commanding vocals.” It goes on to note that “as momentum builds … McEntire’s passion builds.”

What does Beyonce say about Reba McEntire’s cover of “If I Were a Boy”?

Beyoncé hasn’t publicly commented on Reba McEntire’s cover of “If I Were a Boy.” While Beyoncé might not have directly commented on the cover, her respect for Reba suggests she might appreciate Reba’s take on the song.

What is “If I Were a Boy” about?

Written by Brittany Jean Carlson and Toby Gad, “If I Were a Boy” is a song about gender gap when it comes to relationships. They flip the script on that as the woman at the center of the song vows that she’d do better as a man than guys typically do. Check out the lyrics, below:

    If I were a boy
    Even just for a day
I’d roll outta bed in the morning
And throw on what I wanted and go
    Drink beer with the guys
    And chase after girls
I’d kick it with who I wanted
And I’d never get confronted for it
‘Cause they’d stick up for me

    If I were a boy
    I think I could understand
How it feels to love a girl
    I swear I’d be a better man
    I’d listen to her
‘Cause I know how it hurts
When you lose the one you wanted
‘Cause he’s taken you for granted
And everything you had got destroyed

    If I were a boy
I would turn off my phone
    Tell everyone it’s broken
So they’d think that I was sleepin’ alone
    I’d put myself first
And make the rules as I go
‘Cause I know that she’d be faithful
Waitin’ for me to come home (to come home)

    If I were a boy
    I think I could understand
How it feels to love a girl
    I swear I’d be a better man
    I’d listen to her
‘Cause I know how it hurts
When you lose the one you wanted (wanted)
‘Cause he’s taken you for granted (granted)
And everything you had got destroyed

It’s a little too late for you to come back
    Say it’s just a mistake
Think I’d forgive you like that
If you thought I would wait for you
    You thought wrong

    But you’re just a boy
    You don’t understand
    Yeah, you don’t understand, oh
How it feels to love a girl someday
You wish you were a better man
    You don’t listen to her
You don’t care how it hurts
Until you lose the one you wanted
‘Cause you’ve taken her for granted
And everything you had got destroyed
    But you’re just a boy

We’re looking forward to more covers and suprises by Reba McEntire when she joins fellows Coaches Gwen Stefani, Niall Horan, and John Legend for Season 25 of The Voice.

She wore a sequin-studded ivory jacket and black pants with sequin embroidery, and her performance of the national anthem had a country vibe.

Although she never sang at the Super Bowl, her performance was successful without a hitch and was well received by NFL players and fans alike.

Ahead of McEntire’s performance, singer Andra Day wowed the audience with her performance of “Lift Every Voice and Sing.” Rapper Post Malone also took the stage during the show ahead of a performance of the shortened version of “America the Beautiful.” He sings songs and accompanies acoustic guitars.

Taylor Swift, who will be collaborating with Malone on a track on her upcoming album, smiled and swayed as she watched his performance.

During a press conference in Las Vegas on Thursday, McEntire spoke about how much she loves the city and that she’s “thrilled” to be in the first Super Bowl there.

“I’ve never sung the national anthem at the Super Bowl. I am extremely honored to have been chosen to sing that song. It means I get to sing a very special song for all Americans, people around the world who have really worked so hard for freedom and bringing us peace,” she said.

“It’s not about me. I am the representative of this song and I am honored to sing it. It’s a good song. I’ve been singing it for 50 years and I’m really proud to sing it.”

To get ready for her big moment, she said: “I sang the national anthem in the shower, when we got in the car. Rex, my boyfriend, is a huge football fan, playing all kinds of sports as he prepares to attend. school. And so he would say, ‘Okay, let’s sing again.’ I would say, ‘I think I know those words very well now so I’m fine.’”

“But just being prepared and knowing that people are going to sing that song with me. That helps,” she continued. “If I knew that they were singing along, they were also remembering and having fun, it would be easier for me. Just be prepared when you step out there.”

Does Reba McEntire Want to Get Married Again?

During the After Show, Reba McEntire tells Watch What Happens Live’s virtual fans that getting married would be up to her boyfriend Rex Linn, who she calls “Sugar Tot.”

She goes on to talk about how she’s already said “I do” twice, but he hasn’t, so the ball is in his court when it comes to walking down the aisle. Reba also reveals that she and Rex discussed why he hadn’t been married yet.

Reba McEntire is open to the idea of getting married again — but the ball’s not in her court.

During an appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, McEntire fielded a fan question on the topic, and said that ultimately, the marriage decision is going to be up to her “Sugar Tot,” aka her boyfriend of nearly four years, actor Rex Linn.

“That would be up to him. I’ve been married twice. He’s never been married,” McEntire explains. “So if he wants to, that’s totally up to him.”

Will Reba McEntire And Boyfriend Rex Linn Get Married? McEntire Weighs In - Music Mayhem Magazine

McEntire first got married in 1976 to rodeo steer-wrestling champion Charlie Battles. They split 11 years later, and in 1989, the country star married producer and artist manager Narvel Blackstock. The pair were married for 26 year and share a son named Shelby Blackstock. They divorced in 2015.

Meanwhile, Linn — who is best known for his roles in CSI: Miami and Better Call Saul — has never tied the knot, at 66 years old.

But even though it’s a little unusual for someone to get to their 60s without ever marrying, McEntire says that plot point from Linn’s biography ultimately wouldn’t dissuade her from walking down the aisle.

“Was it a head-scratcher? Well, yeah, kind of,” the singer says when asked if Linn’s perennially single status threw up any red flags for her. “We talked it out. Yeah.”

McEntire and Linn might not be tying the knot — at least, not yet — but their relationship certainly has plenty of elements of domestic bliss. Most recently, McEntire revealed that Linn loves her salted chocolate chip cookies so much that he’s been begging her to stop giving them away to other people.

Reba McEntire’s Breathtaking National Anthem Performance Has Super Bowl Fans Feeling Extra Patriotic

Reba McEntire’s national anthem brought that country twang back to the Super Bowl with a rousing performance before Sunday’s (Feb. 11) matchup between the San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs.

“This is how the National Anthem at Super Bowl LVIII is performed by Reba McEntire in Las Vegas,” one fan wrote on X, followed by several American Flag emojis.

“Reba McEntire proving why she’s a living legend. No gimmicks needed,” another viewer noted.

Reba’s National Anthem Performance Is Not Her First Rodeo

Clad in jeans, a fuzzy periwinkle jacket, and—of course—matching blue cowboy boots, the spitfire songstress brought her career full circle by belting “The Star-Spangled Banner.” McEntire got her start as a teenager singing the national anthem on the rodeo circuit in her native Oklahoma half a century ago.

“This ain’t my first rodeo,” the “Fancy singer” wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter. “I’d never have imagined when I sang the anthem at the National Finals Rodeo 50 years ago that I’d be singing it today at the Super Bowl.”

In fact, one could say McEntire owes her entire career to the patriotic song. She was discovered by country singer and actor Rod Steagall while singing the National Anthem at the National Finals Rodeo. Steagall helped McEntire secure a recording contract in 1975 with PolyGram/Mercury Records, with her eponymous debut coming just two years later.

Fast forward 75 million records sold, 25 Billboard Hot Country No. 1 songs, and three GRAMMY awards later, McEntire still reigns supreme as the “Queen of Country.”

“The only part I will watch,” one X user wrote. “Thank you Reba.”

    “It’s Not About Me”
McEntire may have been centerstage at Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium on Sunday, but the 68-year-old knows this moment is not about her.

“I’m the representation of this song, and I’m just honored to get to sing it,” McEntire told ABC.

The “Voice” coach added, “It means that I get to sing a very special song for all Americans, people all around the world who have really worked so hard for our freedom and to give us peace.”

“The real question is, why did it take so long for @reba to be invited?” one X user wondered.
