‘Vicious liar’: Lady C slams Meghan Markle as judge delays defamation suit judgement

The court of public opinion can now view Meghan Markle as a manipulative “vicious liar,” regardless of the outcome of Samantha Markle’s defamation suit against her, Royal author Lady Colin Campbell says.

Lady C made the remarks during a recent interview with GB News host Dan Wootton.

Meghan Markle Wins Defamation Case Brought by Her Half-Sister

After two years of hearings and filings, a federal judge handed Meghan Markle a decisive victory in the defamation case her half-sister filed against the Duchess of Sussex in 2022. The judge dismissed Samantha Markle’s lawsuit with prejudice, meaning she cannot refile the case.

Samantha had alleged in the suit that Meghan lied about her relationship with her half-sister and their father, Thomas Markle, on several occasions. She pointed specifically to the tell-all interview Meghan and her husband, Prince Harry, did with Oprah Winfrey in 2021, as well as the 2022 Netflix documentary Harry & Meghan. Meghan says in both projects that she grew up as an only child and that she wasn’t close to her father or half-sister.

Samantha had asked the court for $75,000 in damages because she felt Meghan’s statements implied that she was a “deceptive fame-seeking imposter with avaricious intentions,” according to Time. But U.S. District Judge Charlene Honeywell ultimately disagreed, saying Samantha “failed to identify any statements that could support a claim for defamation or defamation-by-implication,” in either the documentary or the Winfrey interview.

Meghan Markle Wins Defamation Suit Brought Against Her by Half-Sister | Us Weekly

In 2021, on the heels of the publication of Samantha’s book, The Diary of Princess Pushy’s Sister — which she described as a “tell-all” about Meghan — Winfrey asked the duchess about her relationship with her sister. “I think it would be very hard to ‘tell all’ when you don’t know me,” Meghan responded. “I don’t feel comfortable talking about people that I really don’t know.” Samantha claimed in her lawsuit that this comment was an attack on “the veracity” of her book, alleging that it affected sales.

According to People, Samantha also took issue with a chapter in the book Finding Freedom, written by royals reporters Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand, titled “A Problem Like Samantha.” But the judge decided last year that Meghan couldn’t “be held liable for statements in a book that she did not publish” and dismissed the case, though Samantha refiled the lawsuit in November.

In Tuesday’s ruling, the judge concluded that what Samantha had a problem with were Meghan’s opinions and insinuations, not any statements of fact. In a statement to the New York Times, Michael J. Kump, a lawyer for Meghan, said he and Meghan were “pleased with the court’s ruling dismissing the case.” Meanwhile, Samantha’s lawyer said the ruling was “very upsetting” and she plans to appeal. “Don’t count us out,” he wrote in an email, “just delayed.”

Piers Morgan Says His Sons Received Threats Over His Meghan Markle Comments

Piers Morgan revealed how the backlash over his criticism of Meghan Markle affected his children, responded to accusations of racism and commented on Sharon Osbourne’s exit from The Talk.

Piers Morgan says his sons were harassed online and even received threats of violence from Twitter trolls amid his comments about Meghan Markle, who he criticized most recently following her and Prince Harry‘s interview with Oprah Winfrey.

Piers, a longtime critic of the couple and supporter of Queen Elizabeth II, recently left his job as co-host of Good Morning Britain following a backlash over his recent remarks about the Duchess of Sussex, who made shocking accusations against the monarchy in the CBS tell-all special that aired last month.

“I’ve always subscribed to the ‘if you dish it out, you’ve got to take it’ philosophy,’” Piers, who works as DailyMail.com’s Editor-at-Large, wrote in a Mail on Sunday column on Sunday, March 28. “But my three sons told me they too are all being targeted, and sent me screenshots of venomous abuse and threats of violence towards them, which made my stomach churn, especially as police are already investigating a death threat made to me and my eldest boy Spencer last month.”

Piers, who has three adult sons and a 9-year-old daughter, continued, “None of them even care about Meghan Markle, let alone agree with my views on her. Yet the Twitter troll mob has found them guilty by association. One troll vowed to murder me in front of them, and added: ‘When your dad dies, the world will have a party.’”

On the CBS special with Oprah, Meghan revealed she felt suicidal while living as a royal and claimed the monarchy rejected her pleas for mental health treatment. She also said someone in the royal household raised “concerns” about the color of their then-unborn first baby’s skin. Piers later said on ITV’s Good Morning Britain, “I’m sorry, I don’t believe a word she says, Meghan Markle.”

Following an on-air debate, he walked off the set, then returned and said, “It’s not for me to question if she felt suicidal, I am not in her mind and that is for her to say. My real concern was a disbelief, frankly…that she went to a senior member of the royal household and told them she was suicidal and was told she could not have any help because it would be a bad look for the family.” A day later, following tens of thousands of complaints, including from Meghan herself, ITV announced Piers was leaving Good Morning Britain.

Meanwhile, supporters of the duchess have continued to accuse Piers and other vocal critics of racism, which he has denied.

“I was trending…with people saying I was ‘racist’ and ‘mocking mental illness’ by disbelieving Meghan’s claims, and demanding I be fired,” he wrote in his column. “It didn’t matter that I’ve never said anything racist about her or that my only comments about her race have been to repeatedly say how great it was that a bi-racial woman married into the Royal Family. No, it appears that questioning Meghan’s fork-tongued ‘truth’ is now a racist hate crime.”

Meghan Markle, Piers MorganShutterstock, Ken McKay/ITV/Shutterstock

On Good Morning Britain, he and co-host Alex Beresford debated about Meghan and Harry’s interview before the latter brought up Piers’ personal past correspondence with Meghan—he has claimed she ghosted him before she met Harry, prompting him to storm off the set. The duchess told Oprah, “In those months when I was pregnant, all around this same time—so we have in tandem the conversation of ‘He won’t be given security, he’s not going to be given a title’ and also concerns and conversations about how dark his skin might be when he’s born.”

On Good Morning Britain, Piers told Alex that the duchess’ on-air comments spurred people to look “upon the palace, the monarchy, the queen, everyone in the royal family, as a bunch of racists.”

“Is there a difference if it was said, perhaps in all innocence, and they just said, ‘What color baby might you have?’ without any suggestion of it being a concern or a worry if it had darker skin?” Piers questioned. “Would that in itself, would just the question be racist?”

Piers wrote in his column that Alex “insisted that even if Meghan’s claim about Archie being barred from Princehood because of his skin colour is untrue, it’s still her ‘lived experience’ so should be respected.”

“But that’s ridiculous; you can’t have a ‘lived experience’ of racism when the fact you’re basing it on is false,” Piers continued. “Or rather, you can, but it’s not a real one and nobody should be compelled to believe it. Sadly, this is where we’ve now arrived in society: the truth can be whatever someone decides it is, so Meghan Markle must be believed because it’s ‘her truth.’ And if you don’t believe her, you’re a racist.”

Piers’ longtime friend and former America’s Got Talent co-judge Sharon Osbourne recently departed her role of co-host on The Talk following a heated on-air debate of his recent criticism of Meghan, during which she defended him and said he was not racist. Her exit from the show also came amid recent claims that she made racist and homophobic comments against her past co-hosts. Sharon claims she was “blindsided” by CBS with the Piers questions and her rep called the accusations of her remarks about her co-stars “lies.”

“Sharon Osbourne’s quit The Talk, driven out for the crime of defending me, a friend she knows isn’t racist, from a co-worker saying I’m racist simply because I disbelieve Meghan Markle,” Piers wrote in his column. “It’s outrageous, but what’s happened to Sharon and me in the past fortnight isn’t really about Ms Markle. She’s just one of many whiny, privileged, hypocritical celebrities who now cynically exploit victimhood to suppress free speech, value their own version of the truth above the actual truth, and seek to cancel anyone that deviates from their woke world view or who dares to challenge the veracity of their inflammatory statements.”

He added, “No, it’s about a far bigger issue than one delusional Duchess, and that’s everyone’s right to be free to express our honestly held opinions, forcefully and passionately if we feel like it.”

Meghan Markle takes aim at British media: They call ‘my children the N-word’

Meghan Markle says she hated having to share family photos with the same British media outlets whose readers called her “children the N-word.”

When she was an active member of the royal family, the Duchess of Sussex was expected to give pictures of her now-3-year-old son, Archie, to the Royal Rota, the press pool that covers Queen Elizabeth II and her line of succession.

“There’s literally a structure,” Markle, 41, explained in a wide-ranging The Cut cover story, published Monday.

“Why would I give the very people that are calling my children the N-word a photo of my child before I can share it with the people that love my child?” the “Suits” alum, who is biracial, asked.

“You tell me how that makes sense and then I’ll play that game.”

Markle noted that she and Prince Harry did not have control of the @KensingtonRoyal Instagram account they initially shared with Prince William and Kate Middleton.

When the couple broke off to make their own social media handle, @sussexroyal, they chose not to play the “exchange game.”

Markle also slammed the royal family’s social media “structure.” WireImage,
Instead, Markle and the prince, 37, posted photos without first giving them to the Royal Rota.

The pair shut down their account when they stepped back from their royal roles, which they officially quit in February 2021, but Markle teased her upcoming Instagram return in the interview with the New York magazine offshoot.

The “Deal or No Deal” alum, who is also the mother of 1-year-old daughter Lilibet, has previously addressed the racist media coverage that drove her and her husband from the royal family — and off social media.

The bullying was “almost unsurvivable,” Markle told Oprah Winfrey in her bombshell CBS interview last year, revealing that she experienced suicidal thoughts.

“I was really ashamed to have to say it at the time and ashamed to have to admit it to Harry especially, but I knew that if I didn’t say that I would do it,” the “Archetypes” podcast host explained in March 2021. “I just didn’t want to be alive anymore.”

Markle also told Winfrey, 68, that there were “concerns and conversations” within the family about the color of her son’s skin ahead of his arrival.

“At the time it was awkward, I was a bit shocked,” Harry chimed in, noting that he was “never going to share” who spoke to them about Archie’s complexion.

“That was right at the beginning,” the redheaded royal continued.

In November 2021, a source told author Christopher Andersen for his book “Brothers and Wives: Inside the Private Lives of William, Kate, Harry and Meghan” that it was Prince Charles who mused to his wife, Camilla Parker Bowles, about “what the children will look like.”

A spokesperson for the Prince of Wales, however, told The Post at the time that the report was “fiction and not worth further comment.”

Megyn Kelly has another bone to pick with Meghan Markle and this time it’s because she has an issue with the fact she refers to Prince Harry as ‘her husband’.

On the latest episode of her podcast, The Megyn Kelly Show, the American media commentator slammed Markle and said she’d had enough.

‘We get it, you bagged the gorilla,’ she said on Tuesday’s episode.

‘Congratulations, you got the big bear, [and] you want us all to know.’

The comments were in response to the latest episode of Markle’s own podcast, Archetypes, when she said that her husband was ‘great’ with contributing equally to parenting.

‘Oh, my husband? Oh, he’s great,’ she said.

‘[He] gets [Archie] downstairs’, while she added she would make breakfast for the family.

‘It’s very important to me. I love doing it.’

With Christopher Anderson, author of The King: The Life of Charles III, Kelly’s guest on the program, the pair also discussed claims made in the Oprah interview, including a part where Markle said she never looked up the Royal family prior to her relationship.

Anderson claimed that, like ‘every other young woman’, she knew exactly who they were.

‘Let’s get real, there’s always that eligible bachelor,’ Kelly agreed.

‘For my age, it was JFK Jr., for her age it was Prince Harry.’

Kelly also criticised the Duke and Duchess of Sussex for ‘ripping on the Royals to whom they owe, literally, all of their fame and most of their fortune.’

The comments come as the world waits to see the contents of Harry’s memoir, Spare, which will now be released on January 10 after being delayed due to the Queen’s passing.

The 416-page book has been billed by publisher Penguin Random House as a work of ‘raw, unflinching honesty’.

Relatives were not given a heads-up on the title – a reference to the phrase the ‘the heir and the spare’ – in advance of last week’s announcement, with a source telling the Daily Mail it will be seen as both ‘controversial’ and ‘provocative’.

Harry has previously called the book a ‘truthful and wholly accurate’ portrait of his life – the prospect of which has sent shockwaves through the royal establishment.

Denise Welch tells Loose Women guest ‘don’t disrespect me’ in explosive Meghan Markle row

A discussion about the Royal Family on Loose Women descended into chaos when Denise Welch told a guest not to ‘disrespect her’.

On Monday’s episode of the ITV programme, royal correspondent and the late Queen Elizabeth’s former press spokesperson Dickie Arbiter appeared to speak about the one-year anniversary of King Charles’ coronation.

However, things took a turn when he mentioned the strained relations between Prince Harry and his family.

‘Harry has been rubbishing his family since they walked out in 2020,’ he said.

Jumping in, Denise asked him if he believed if there was a reason Harry ‘did such a thing’ after his interview with Oprah Winfrey was mentioned, as well as his explosive autobiography Spare.

Commenting how she believed the King ‘ruined a lot of’ Princess Diana’s life, Denise then mentioned how Meghan Markle was ‘continually trashed by the media, including by yourself’.

As the studio audience began clapping, Denise raised her voice and declared: ‘I am just sick to death of the bashing that this woman gets.

‘Hardly any of you mention Andrew and yet we continually berate this woman every day. I think when her children grow up and see what she goes through, I think Harry had a bloody good reason to write that book in my opinion.’

Responding, Dickie said he ‘wasn’t going to argue’ with Denise as that wasn’t the aim of his appearance but added that he believed she had ‘been reading too many tabloid stories’.

Hitting back, Denise was not impressed and told him not to ‘disrespect’ her.

‘I have read lots of stories about Meghan before and I think it is a disgrace the way she has been treated,’ she said.

After Dickie said the way Harry and Meghan had treated the Royal Family was ‘disgraceful’ and said the couple ‘didn’t have to walk out’, Coleen Nolan tried to diffuse the situation.

However, Denise was outraged: ‘Don’t have a guest on and… I can say what I like Coleen!’

Dickie then said that he would like to see a reunion between the King and his youngest son, with the conversation then calming down.

As the segment wrapped up, he and Denise then kissed each other on the cheek.

There was a mixed reaction to what unfolded from viewers, with some praising Denise and others saying she should have held her tongue.

‘Denise entitled to her opinion, but there’s a time and a place to let rip,’ Katie posted on X.

‘Denise Welch does not have the ability to listen or speak to people in a respectful way. Dickie Arbiter acted with class and everyone like he said is entitled to their own opinion. Just not in the appalling way she did,’ Chris shared.

‘If Dickie hadn’t rubbished Harry and Meghan, Denise wouldn’t have needed to step in and give the other side of the debate. Good on her,’ Tina added.

During an episode of Loose Women in which the panel discussed the public being invited to ‘cry out and swear allegiance’ to King Charles and Queen Camilla, Denise said that while she ‘has nothing against the Royal Family’ she wanted to instead pledge allegiance to Harry and Meghan.

Prince Harry ‘Snapped’ At Meghan Markle During Explosive Fight: ‘Sloppily Angry’

Prince Harry may be going after his family in Spare, but he’s not afraid to open up about some of his lesser moments, too.

In a revealing new snippet of the upcoming memoir obtained by Us Weekly on Thursday, the 38-year-old renegade royal revealed he once had a massive fight with Meghan Markle — and she totally put him in his place! Good for her!

While he did not disclose what the argument was about (at least not in the excerpt), Harry wrote:

“Maybe the wine went to my head. Maybe the weeks of battling the press had worn me down. For some reason, when the conversation took an unexpected turn, I became touchy. Then angry. Disproportionately, sloppily angry.”

According to the BetterUp CIO, the Suits alum said something he “took the wrong way” due to cultural differences and a language barrier which caused him to clap back harshly. He explained:

“I was also just over-sensitive that night. I thought: ‘Why’s she having a go at me?’ I snapped at her, spoke to her harshly [and] cruelly. As the words left my mouth, I could feel everything in the room come to a stop. The gravy stopped bubbling, the molecules of air stopped orbiting. Even Nina Simone seemed to pause.”

The Archetypes podcast host then disappeared for a “full 15 minutes” before Harry eventually found her sitting alone in their bedroom. Without hesitation, she told him never to treat her like that again, he recalled:

“She was calm, but said in a quiet, level tone that she would never stand for being spoken to like that. I nodded.”

He then suggested he had learned this kind of behavior from the adults around him during his childhood, such as his parents Princess Diana and King Charles III (and his stepmother Queen Camilla), adding:

“She wanted to know where it came from. I don’t know. [She asked,] ’Where did you ever hear a man speak like that to a woman? Did you overhear adults speak that way when you were growing up?’ I cleared my throat, looked away [and responded], ‘Yes.’”

    Oof.

While she probably appreciated him being so honest, Meg said she would not “tolerate” a partner (or co-parent) who would yell as he had, he continued:

“She wasn’t going to raise children in an atmosphere of anger or disrespect. She laid it all out, super-clear.”

Harry và Meghan gần đây cũng đã phát hành loạt tài liệu sáu phần gây chấn động của họ. Ảnh: Netflix

An apology also wasn’t enough for the actress since they both “knew” his outburst had nothing to do with the actual conversation, the former military pilot went on:

“It came from somewhere deep inside, somewhere that needed to be excavated, and it was obvious that I could use some help with the job. ‘I’ve tried therapy,’ I told her. ‘Willy [Prince William] told me to go. Never found the right person.’ [It] didn’t work. ‘No,’ she said softly. ‘Try again.’”

And he did! After the argument, Harry became a huge advocate for therapy and mental health treatment. During an October 2022 appearance at the Masters of Scale Summit, he shared:

“The moment I started doing therapy, it opened my eyes. I was moving through life thinking there was only one way to live. And therapy burst that bubble. … All of a sudden, I realized that now I have perspective and a great understanding of my value. I regained confidence that I never thought I had.”

Seeing as he struggled with drug and alcohol use following the untimely death of his mother, we’re sure he had a lot to unpack, too. In another portion of the memoir, Harry also acknowledged how much anxiety he had growing up, such as the fear of entering open or crowded places. The father of two shared:

“I was an agoraphobe. Which was nearly impossible given my public role. After one speech, which couldn’t be avoided or canceled, and during which I’d nearly fainted, Willy came up to me backstage. Laughing, ‘Harold! Look at you! You’re drenched.’”

He went on to say he “couldn’t fathom” the reaction since his brother had witnessed his first panic attack, so he knew how serious it was. Thankfully he got the help he needed and he and Meg are seemingly in a better place now! Thoughts?!

Royal expert Charles Rae has claimed both Britain and America are “getting fed up” of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.

Royals: Charles Rae on Meghan’s ‘getting paid’ comments

GB News weekend Breakfast presenters Anne Diamond and Stephen Dixon spoke with royal commentator Charles Rae on Sunday about what’s next for Meghan Markle and Prince Harry. The royal expert urged the Duke of Sussex to ditch his tell-all memoir before questioning the popularity of the royal couple after their recent stay in the UK.

Charles began: “People in this country are getting more and more fed up with him and from what I’m gathering people in America are getting fed up with them as well.”

“All they do is moan,” Anne quipped.

“We’ve got this book which has been written by Valentine Low from The Times, quite a well respected royal correspondent been doing the job for about 25 years called Courtiers,” Charles continued.

“Now he’s pulled together all the allegations that have been made about Meghan and her bullying.”

    Charles Rae Meghan Markle

“And if you remember, there was supposed to be an investigation, a palace investigation into allegations of that bullying,” he claimed.

“Now that investigation, in fact died a death it was just put on the back burner because it was suggested that they didn’t want to publish the results of it because it might upset Meghan.

“In the book we’re seeing the fine detail of some of those allegations and it’s quite appalling what she said.

“Also this thing about when she was in Australia, and was being greeted and fêted by all these people around and she said, ‘I should be getting paid for this.’

In an excerpt shared by The Times, Valentine makes several claims about what is was like behind the scenes of the royal tour in 2018.

The book reads: “Although she enjoyed the attention, Meghan failed to understand the point of all those walkabouts, shaking hands with countless strangers.”

Valentine quotes an unnamed member of staff who claims she heard Meghan saying: “I can’t believe I’m not getting paid for this.”

Earlier this year, Buckingham Palace decided against publishing a report from an inquiry into allegations that Meghan bullied members of staff.

At a briefing on the annual Sovereign Grant report, a senior palace source said: “I’m not going to comment on the changes that have been made to the policies and procedures – I’ll just say that the policies and procedures have been updated.

“Because of the confidentiality of the discussions we have not communicated the detailed recommendations. The recommendations have been incorporated within policies and procedures wherever appropriate and policies and procedures have changed.

‘Shouldn’t be Prince or Princess of anything!’: Lady C rages at Sussex’s HRH title protest

LADY COLIN CAMPBELL was speaking to GB News’ Dan Wootton when she unleashed a scathing rant aimed at the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s reported anger at the news their children won’t be granted HRH status.

Archie and Lilibet ‘should be treated like Wessexes’ says Lady C

While King Charles III is expected to anoint Prince Archie, three, and Princess Lilibet, one, in the near future, it’s widely reported the Sussex children won’t be granted HRH status. According to reports, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are “furious” at the decision, but it has sparked debate among royal commentators as to whether it is the right call given the Sussexes departure from leading figures in the Royal Family. In fact, Lady C told Dan Wootton that any pressure put on the new King to grant HRH status to the youngsters was “vulgar” and “tasteless”.

Referring to the reports, GB News’ Dan first made his stance on the issues clear, saying to Lady C: “I have to admit, Lady C, it’s very bizarre to me.

“I mean why on earth given the way they feel about the institution, given the way they seem to feel about Britain, why on earth would they want to give their children an HRH title and make them a prince and a princess?

“I mean, it just seems bizarre,” he added, prompting Lady C to reply: “But they are bizarre! They are opportunistic, it’s all about money and recognition and status and to make more money and get more attention.

“Let’s remember that there is a precedent for the grandchildren of a monarch to not have the use of prime and princess.

Kate and William’s demeanour showing ‘gigantic difference’ from Harry and Meghan

The Prince and Princess of Wales had a remarkably different attitude to the Sussexes when they greeted the public at Windsor, a body language expert has noted.

“Let us remember Lord Severn and Lady Louise Windsor, they are the grandchildren of Her Late Majesty. So there is absolutely no reason why the King should feel pressurised by the neo-puritanical American press and the neo-puritanical supporters of Harry and Meghan who are allowing themselves to be used to denigrate Anglo-Saxon culture not only here but in the United States of America.

“There are issues that are rather larger, political issues, than just the titles of the children,” she ranted.

Lady C continued: “But where Harry and Meghan are concerned, they want to have their cake and eat it at the same time and they would like everybody to be aware of the fact and throw it in everybody’s face ‘Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet’.”

The former I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! star criticised: “Prince Archie! Prince Archibald is fine but Prince Archie – is this Archie Bunker come to life? And Princess Lilibet, who ever heard of a princess having a nickname as a proper name?

    GB News: Lady C

    Prince Harry and Meghan Markle

“The whole thing is tasteless, vulgar and just shows the total lack of appreciation of what being royal is all about.

“It’s not about making money and it’s not about capitalising, it’s about using their god-given position to serve the British people and the British Commonwealth – not to serve themselves and I think the whole thing stinks to high heavens.”

Weighing in with what she thinks King Charles should do in response to the reported uproar, Lady C went on: “Personally, I do not think that King Charles should allow those children to be called Prince or Princess anything!

“I think that the situation should be replicated as to what has happened with the Wessex children, that should be the beginning and the end of it.

“There is already a precedent. Harry and Meghan are not any more special and their children are no more special than the Earl and Countess of Wessex and their two children, I think that’s it in a nutshell.”

Lady C’s outrage comes after a source told The Sun: “Harry and Meghan were worried about the security issue and being prince and princess brings them the right to have certain levels of royal security.

“There have been a lot of talks over the past week. They have been insistent that Archie and Lilibet are prince and princess.

A Look At Prince Harry's Bond With His Mother-In-Law Doria Ragland

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have broken from Royal tradition with their choice of a nanny
While Prince William and Kate Middleton may have splurged on a highly-paid Norland nanny for their three children, it seems that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are taking things in a more traditional direction.

Insider sources reveal that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have opted to keep childcare within the family, with Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, stepping into the role of babysitter.

Their decision comes after numerous unsuccessful experiences with professional caregivers over recent years, as reported by the Express.

An inside source revealed: “Harry and Meghan have employed various nannies in the past, but now that Doria has moved in with them, she’s stepped up to help with the kids.”

Meghan and Harry are said to have instated Meghan’s mum, Doria, as nanny to their children
“Although there’s sometimes additional assistance, Doria is working closely with Meghan to ensure the little ones are brought up in a tightly-knit and loving family environment”, reports the Daily Record.

The Sussexes initially hired Lorren Khumalo, a paediatric nurse and consultant, to take care of their son, Prince Archie, shortly after his birth.

At this time, they were living at Frogmore Cottage in the UK before making the big announcement to step down from their Royal duties and relocate to the Unites States.

In an interview last year, Lorren reminisced about her first trip to Frogmore Cottage to meet Prince Harry and Meghan. Despite getting a speeding ticket on the way, Harry’s laid-back and friendly demeanour made her feel comfortable, describing the house as very much “normal” and Harry as one who favoured going “barefoot.”

It was also reported that Meghan and Harry were forced to dismiss a night nanny after an unsettling night time incident with Archie, which made them wary of subsequent hires.

This incident, detailed in Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand’s biography “Finding Freedom,” described how the couple had to let the nurse go on her second night for being “unprofessional and irresponsible.”

The experience reportedly left the Duke and Duchess of Sussex nervous about their next nanny, despite her competent performance. Consequently, they decided to handle night duties themselves while employing a day nanny who worked weekdays.

When living in the UK, Harry and Meghan preferred not to have their home filled with staff, opting instead for a nanny who did not live at Frogmore Cottage.

They valued their home being “cosy and private,” enjoying nights with just the family and, according to the source, this is the approach that the couple now takes with both Prince Archie, five, and Princess Lilibet, two.

Meghan and her mum are known to share a close bond
An insider claimed that Meghan feels “more comfortable” with her children being looked after her mother, as she and Harry are “extremely protective” of their offspring.

Doria is said to have been “instrumental” in taking care of Archie and Lilibet whilst Meghan and Harry undertook their tour of Nigeria.

Earlier this year, it was revealed that Doria had moved into her and Prince Harry’s California mansion’s guesthouse to lend a helping hand.

The yogi and mother-of-one relocated to the Sussexes sprawling home in Montecito, bypassing the lengthy journey from her Los Angeles residence in View Park-Windsor Hills.

An insider confessed: “Doria spends nearly all of her time with Harry and Meghan. It’s basically a family of five,” before going on to say how Doria has a solid bond with the children, adding “She [Doria] is amazingly close to the children and helps Meghan daily. She also steps in as a nanny whenever they travel abroad without the children.”

This parenting style is a stark contrast to that of Prince William and Kate’s. The Prince and Princess of Wales, aged 41 and 42 respectively, have always relied on Maria Teresa Turrion Borrallo, a nanny from the prestigious Norland Agency, since Prince George was just eight months old.

Maria remains a staple in the Cambridge home, contributing to the raising of Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6, and plays an essential role in aiding Kate, especially as she’s now recovering from cancer at home.

Daniela Elser: Meghan and Harry are set to make Diana’s same mistake

Twenty five years after Diana discovered the cost of defying the royal family, Meghan and Harry are close to finding out for themselves.

The royal baby tradition Meghan Markle is breaking

This week, a man scaled the fence of Buckingham Palace, evaded CCTV and heat sensors and ended up just metres away from where the Queen was sleeping, according to British TV.

It was the second security breach in the last year — in July 2018, a homeless man broke into the grounds of the Palace and went undetected for four hours.

However, threats to the monarchy don’t just try and climb over gates.

Right now, the case could be made that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex qualify as a greater threat to the monarchy, whose global popularity and burgeoning international brand have thoroughly upset the royal pecking order.

Because, the Windsors are a family and they are not. While the clan might gather for weddings and christenings — a cheerful chattering gaggle all in $2000 Philip Treacy hats — they operate within a strict hierarchy.

Members labour in the knowledge that their competing interests must be subsumed in the pursuit of their collective goal of constantly shoring up the monarchy.

Translation: Being a member of the royal family requires putting the interests of the crown ahead of your own.

While having glittering charismatic younger members is essential to maintaining public interest in the monarchy, that should never come at the expense of detracting from the person who actually gets to wear the crown.

Whether Diana was just being wilfully obstinate in the face of her husband’s imperious family or simply naive, the causes and issues she devoted herself to in the ’90s transformed her into a global powerbroker who, perhaps unwittingly, stole the limelight and made herself a target.

And this was a cardinal sin in the eyes of the royal family — and one her son and daughter-in-law are dangerously close to repeating.

As the Princess’ equerry of eight years Patrick Jephson has written: “As Diana discovered to her cost, if you acquire for yourself, however justifiably, a profile, a purpose, and a vocal, passionate public devotion independent of the royal mainstream, then you will risk being perceived and presented as a threat to the Crown itself.

“This will mobilise the full forces of the establishment against you.”

Basically, she was a victim of her own success and the Sussexes are perilously close to repeating this miscalculation.

This week, Harry and Meghan were named to Time’s 25 Most Influential People On The Internet, reflecting their incredible digital sway (9.1 million Instagram followers and counting). Later this year, they will head to South Africa for their first tour as a family where they are expected to formally launch the Foundation of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex with a focus on community and the environment.

This will most likely be just the beginning of the couple’s renewed global push to cast themselves as international activists par excellence.

And you know what? It will work. They are smart, photogenic and determined, and that is why they will be a problem for the monarchy. Their very popularity sucks up oxygen, and thus there is nothing left for the hoary edifice that is the crown.

Every Netflix special and meeting with Oprah ensures the focus will stay on them, and not whatever the monarch (or future monarchs) are doing.

Consider this. Within the same 24-hour period earlier this week, the Prince of Wales, Duke of Cornwall and the Duchess of Cornwall visited Mevagissey (it’s in Cornwall) and later Charles visited Boscastle to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Cornwall Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

And, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex went to The Lion King premiere, hugged Beyonce and nearly broke the internet. Which one do you remember reading about?

It would be wildly naive to think two 70-somethings dutifully plodding around Cornwall admiring local pasties would trump the goings on of the controversy-plagued Sussexes. But the grave imbalance in coverage and attention will be duly noted by those entrusted with ensuring the continuation of an institution which can trace its lineage back to Egbert in 827. (Seriously).

“The one really key skill Meghan absolutely must perfect is how to avoid being seen as any kind of a destabilising danger to the established royal order,” Patrick Jephson writes in The Meghan Factor.

“Centuries of royal history have shown that, when you’re in the dynasty business, every consideration is subjected to the ultimate existential test: Will this person/thing/idea/development help or hinder the survival of the current royal line?”

In the years and decades to come, the Sussexes’ endeavours will only increasingly compete with those of the Cambridge’s. Every click, like and column-inch devoted to the Sussexes and their global endeavours will come at the expense of the future King and Queen Consort.

Strange as it might sound, there is a certain amount of persistent campaigning required to keep the monarchy alive and kicking. And to do that, they need persistent coverage, column inches and clicks. Anyone who sucks all the media focus away from Charles, Wills and later, George, will be viewed as an existential threat.

The monarchy is a resilient beast whose longevity is down to a slavish commitment to the overriding principle that the only thing that truly matters is the monarch and those in the line of succession.

So … God Save the Queen (and the future Kings).

And god help the Sussexes because things are going to get rocky in the years to come.
