Lorraine Kelly blasts ‘strangest thing’ about Gregg Wallace MasterChef scandal!

ITV star Lorraine Kelly has spoken out about Gregg Wallace’s firing from MasterChef – and highlighted the ‘strangest’ part of his statement about the misconduct allegations

Lorraine Kelly has slammed Gregg Wallace for using his autism diagnosis as a defence for his behaviour on MasterChef. The TV presenter was fired from the BBC show over allegations of misconduct – which he denied – with a report published by production company Banijay finding that 45 out of 83 accusations were upheld.

Last week, Gregg hit out at the BBC in a statement, stating that “none of the serious allegations against me were upheld” and that a late autism diagnosis helped him to understand how he communicates.

“To those who’ve shown kindness, thank you. It mattered. This has been brutal. For a working-class man with a direct manner, modern broadcasting has become a dangerous place. I was the headline this time. But I won’t be the last.”

Lorraine Kelly has given her take on Gregg Wallace being fired from MasterChef
Speaking about how Gregg used his autism diagnosis as a defence, Lorraine said on her ITV show: “Gregg Wallace has released a statement, many statements. He’s tried to get ahead of this a lot and he’s said many, in my opinion, inappropriate things.”

She later added: “It’s just quite strange because he has a little boy who has autism as well – I find that bizarre, I find that very strange.

“What’s interesting though is those around him who enabled him to be like that.

Gregg shares four-year-old son Sid with his wife Anne-Marie Sterpini, 37, as well as children Tom, 30, and Libby, 27, with ex-wife Denise.

The TV presenter opened up last year about Sid’s autism diagnosis, revealing that he is non-verbal. “When he’s unhappy, he can’t tell us. If he’s scared or unwell, he can’t tell us. That’s quite nerve-racking for a parent,” he said in an interview.

On Lorraine, guest Nicola Thorp – who appeared on Coronation Street – called for MasterChef’s executive producer to be fired.

“There’s two things that need to happen in the entertainment industry – number one, we need a centralised reporting system,” Nicola said on ITV’s Lorraine.

“The second thing that needs to happen is, instead of firing individual presenters, they need to fire executive producers. I promise you, if not just the presenter but the executive producers get the sack, those exec producers will make sure that everybody on set is treated fairly and make sure people are reporting right to the top.”

She later added: “I was made aware of Gregg Wallace a long time ago but people weren’t listening about the comments being made.”

Former One Direction star Louis Tomlinson revealed why he’s been absent from X/Twitter as he slammed those prying into his life. The 33-year-old star has been dating Love Island’s Zara McDermott for several months, with the two last spotted enjoying the sunshine at Glastonbury Festival.

According to a deflated Louis, many have been sharing ‘conspiracy’ theories about his romance with Zara – who previously dated former Made In Chelsea’s Sam Thompson for five years. Taking to his X page, he wrote: “The last few months have made it impossible to be on here. ”

He went on to say there were offensive comments made about his son Freddie, eight, who he shares with ex Brianna Jungwirth. Some also posted opinions about his late mother Johanna Deakin, who died in 2016.

“All the conspiracy chat about my relationship, my son or even stretching sometimes to opinions on my Mum,” Louis said. “It’s just too much and too hurtful for me to see! Thank you to everyone who always has my back!”

Before the tweet, he last posted on July 8, writing: “So excited to be back on stage tomorrow. Feels like a while! Who’s coming?!!” His most recent Instagram post was a slew of snaps from his time at Worthy Farm with pals and Zara.

Loyal fans rushed to the comment section to share their support for him. One concerned user said: “There are way too many that support you no matter what; please believe that there are amazing fans always here for you!”

“Your true fans will always have your back. The ones that respect you for you, your talent, and let you live a life.

“Those people are the ones you should be thankful for,” another fan commented. One fan added: “So so proud of you, tell them haters Louis!!!”

Louis previously discussed his annoyance over theories made about him. A famous one claimed Louis and 1D star Harry Styles enjoyed a romantic relationship.

He tweeted in 2012: “Larry is the biggest load of bulls*** I’ve ever heard. I’m happy, why can’t you accept that.”

In 2024, he brought up the theory again and said: “What’s tough is, I realised this some years ago, there is nothing I can say. There is nothing I can do to dispel the believers of that conspiracy.

“It does irritate me a little bit, you know? But it is just kind of the nature of the job, I suppose.”

  • John Torode sacked from MasterChef after racism allegation as BBC share damning statement!

John Torode sacked from MasterChef after racism allegation as BBC share damning statement!

Aussie chef, John Torode, has been sacked from MasterChef after an historic accusation of racism, which he claims he has no memory of and denies ever happened

John Torode has been sacked from MasterChef in another bombshell blow for the show. Just days after Gregg Wallace, 60, was axed from the BBC series following an investigation into his behaviour, John, 59, has also been stood down after a historic accusation of racism.

In bombshell news, John, who has hosted MasterChef for nearly 20 years, confirmed yesterday he was the person alleged to have used racist language after an investigation into his former co-star. However, John said he had no memory of making the comment and denies it ever happened.

Following the furore, he has now been sacked from the long-running show, with the BBC confirming today: “John Torode has identified himself as having an upheld allegation of using racist language against him. This allegation, which involves an extremely offensive racist term being used in the workplace, was investigated and substantiated by the independent investigation led by the law firm, Lewis Silkin. John Torode denies the allegation.

“He has stated he has no recollection of the alleged incident and does not believe that it happened. He also says that any racial language is wholly unacceptable in any environment.

John Torode and Gregg Wallace have now both been sacked from MasterChef (

“The BBC takes this upheld finding extremely seriously. We will not tolerate racist language of any kind and, as we have already said, we told Banijay UK, the makers of MasterChef, that action must be taken. John Torode’s contract on MasterChef will not be renewed.”

Shortly after the BBC’s announcement, John took to social media to claim he had not been personally informed of his sacking. In a statement shared on Instagram, he wrote: “Although I haven’t heard from anyone at the BBC or Banijay – I am seeing and reading that I’ve been “sacked” from MasterChef and I repeat that I have no recollection of what I’m accused of. The enquiry could not even state the date or year of when I am meant to have said something wrong.

“I’d hoped that I’d have some say in my exit from a show I’ve worked on since its relaunch in 2005, but events in last few days seem to have prevented that. Over the past few months, I have been considering my life and the shape of it now and in the future.
Celebrity MasterChef, which I recently filmed with Grace Dent along with two fantastic Christmas specials will be my last. Personally, I have loved every minute working on MasterChef, but it’s time to pass the cutlery to someone else. For whoever takes over, love it as I have.

“I will watch fondly from afar as I now focus on the many other exciting projects that I have been working towards. My tummy will be grateful for a rest after 20 years of eating, but what a joy it has been. Life is everchanging and ever moving & sometimes personal happiness and fulfilment lay elsewhere. Thank you for the many years of MasterChef. JOHN TORODE.”

It comes after Gregg was also sacked from MasterChef (

Gregg, who has also presented MasterChef since it started in 2005, has also been sacked from the show after an inquiry for production company, Banijay, revealed that 45 out of 83 accusations against the father of three were corroborated. The report also brought to light two separate claims implicating others, with one involving racist remarks.

The production company, Banijay, said that it had taken the matter “incredibly seriously”.

“The legal team at Lewis Silkin that investigated the allegations relating to Gregg Wallace also substantiated an accusation of highly offensive racist language against John Torode which occurred in 2018, “ they stated.

“This matter has been formally discussed with John Torode by Banijay UK, and whilst we note that John says he does not recall the incident, Lewis Silkin have upheld the very serious complaint. Banijay UK and the BBC are agreed that we will not renew his contract on MasterChef.”

It had been reported that the BBC and production company Banijay asked John to resign following the report’s findings and cite mental issues as the reason last week – which he reportedly refused to do. The Mirror contacted the BBC and representatives for Torode for comment on this claim.

On Instagram, the chef, who is married to actress, Lisa Faulkner, disclosed he is the accused individual regarding the alleged racist remark, but professed “no recollection of the incident” and expressed being “shocked and saddened”.

John recently shared a statement on the racism claim (

His Instagram statement read: “Following publication of the Executive Summary of the investigation into Gregg Wallace while working on MasterChef, I am aware of speculation that I am one of the two other individuals against whom an allegation has been upheld. For the sake of transparency, I confirm that I am the individual who is alleged to have used racial language on one occasion.

“The allegation is that I did so sometime in 2018 or 2019, in a social situation, and that the person I was speaking with did not believe that it was intended in a malicious way and that I apologised immediately afterwards.”

When asked if John should follow Gregg out the door yesterday, BBC general Tim Davie said: “In terms of the report that was done it had very clear learnings.

“I’m sure you’ll have seen the summary that had all the allegations against Greg Wallace. It also had two allegations upheld on two individuals. I think people appreciate that I cannot now talk about individuals as we go through the process and Banijay lead the process to take appropriate action on what they found through those upheld complaints.”

“What I would say is there has to be follow up. So the BBC, in some ways, were quite simple on this, which is, if someone has found to not live to the values we expect the independent company Banijay in this case, to take action and report back to us on what they have done.”

  • BBC licence fee overhaul – ‘Fight is on’ as 300,000 households stop paying!

BBC licence fee overhaul – ‘Fight is on’ as 300,000 households stop paying!

BBC Director General Tim Davie faced a grilling today as the corporation’s annual report was published following controversies of Glastonbury, MasterChef and coverage of Gaza

The BBC has admitted it is looking into a licence fee overhaul as 300,000 more households have stopped paying it.

The annual report published today says the battle with its streaming rivals like Netflix has created “a moment of real jeopardy for the sector”.

The report revealed 23.8m licences were in force at the end of the year, down from 24.1m in 2023-24. The drop means a loss of about £50m in revenue for the corporation.

It comes following a string of major controversies for the BBC including the streaming of Bob Vylan’s Glastonbury set, Gregg Wallace’s misconduct hearing at MasterChef and a probe into the coverage of Gaza.

BBC Chair Samir Shah says in the annual report: “The fight is on, and it is vital we now think very carefully about the kind of media environment we want for the UK.”

He added they were searching for “the best future funding model for the BBC”.

Shah said: “I have already set out some views on this and the board will be saying more over the coming months,” he said. “But all of us are clear that we want to make sure we protect the BBC as a universal service and help it not just to survive, but thrive, for a generation and more.”

Licence fee income increased slightly year on year, totalling £3.8bn in 2024-25. However, the small rise was down to the 6.7% inflationary increase in the fee to £169.50 a year.

“The current collection method remains fair, effective, and good value for money,” the report said. “As we approach the end of the charter, we will proactively research how we might reform the licence fee to secure the benefits of a well-resourced, universal BBC of scale for the long term.”

The annual report also revealed the highest paid presenters on the BBC. And the Director general Tim Davie also spoke about the challenges they face for crisis hit programme MasterChef.

BBC bosses say MasterChef is ‘bigger than individuals’ (
    Image:
    BBC/Shine TV)
Davie has said he and the corporation’s leadership team will not “tolerate behaviour that is not in line with our values” following the independent report into allegations of misconduct against MasterChef presenter Gregg Wallace.

The 58-year-old was speaking as the BBC unveiled its annual report, the day after the report into Wallace found a total of 45 out of the 83 allegations of misconduct made during his time on the show were substantiated, including one allegation of “unwelcome physical contact”.

Speaking about the independent report commissioned by MasterChef producer Banijay UK, Davie said: “From our side, it’s simple, we’re not going to tolerate behaviour that is not in line with our values.

“The industry needs to change, and we want to lead in the front, myself and the BBC leadership team will not tolerate people who are behaving inappropriately.

“There is no place in or on the BBC for those who are not prepared to live by our values, whoever they are. This is a time of transition for the industry, a reset, and the changes we are driving are overdue.”

On Monday, Wallace’s MasterChef co-host John Torode confirmed he had a standalone allegation of racist language upheld in the same report.

He said had “no recollection of the incident” and was “shocked and saddened” by the allegation in an Instagram post.

In November 2024, the show’s production company, Banijay UK, announced Wallace would step away from his role on the BBC cooking show while historical allegations of misconduct were investigated.

The report concluded that the “majority of the substantiated allegations against Mr Wallace related to inappropriate sexual language and humour”, adding that “a smaller number of allegations of other inappropriate language and being in a state of undress were also substantiated”.

During the release of the annual report, BBC chair Samir Shah revealed for the first time that several members of staff had been dismissed as a result of an independent review of workplace culture commissioned by the BBC.

He said: “This is the first time we’re going to say this publicly, several people have been dismissed as a result (of the review).

“But that, alongside the way the executive responded to the Banijay report into MasterChef yesterday, and I want audiences to feel confident that we are addressing these challenges.

“Finally, at the same time as acknowledging and dealing with the things they’ve gone wrong, the BBC has delivered an outstanding range of content to licence.”

Davie later turned his attention to the Gaza: How To Survive A Warzone documentary, after a review found it had breached the corporation’s editorial guidelines on accuracy.

The programme was removed from BBC iPlayer in February after it emerged that the child narrator, Abdullah, is the son of Ayman Alyazouri, who has worked as Hamas’s deputy minister of agriculture.

Davie added: “There was a breach of our editorial guidelines, there was no breach on impartiality and no evidence of any outside interest impact on the programme.

“But there was a breach of accuracy, and that is not acceptable, so we are taking action to ensure proper accountability and we’re taking immediate steps to stop a failing like this being repeated.

“Despite this mistake, I do want to credit thousands of people across the BBC for delivering such brave impartial journalism despite immense challenges and very significant personal pressure.

“Personally, I remain utterly committed to delivering impartial coverage without fear or favour. It is needed now more than ever in this polarising world.”

On Monday, Ofcom announced it would investigate the documentary under its broadcasting code, which states factual programmes “must not materially mislead the audience”.

  • Inside ex-MasterChef stars John Torode and Gregg Wallace’s fractured friendship!

Inside ex-MasterChef stars John Torode and Gregg Wallace’s fractured friendship!

From ‘massive fight’ and ‘walking away’ to ‘never being friends’

John Torode – who has just been sacked from MasterChef – previously opened up about his lack of friendship with co-host Gregg Wallace.

Speaking before the show and its two hosts became embroiled in scandal, 59-year-old John insisted that, away from the cameras, they never socialised together and weren’t pals.

Now, as dozens of complaints about Gregg – and one about John – are upheld by an independent inquiry, ED! takes a look back at a friendship that almost certainly appears to be forever fractured…

MasterChef star John Torode on his lack of friendship with Gregg Wallace

John and Gregg presented MasterChef together since 2005. However, they knew each other before then, as Gregg used to supply John’s restaurants with vegetables.

However, while John was best man at Gregg’s wedding to fourth wife Anna, John has previously said that they’ve never been friends away from the cameras.

In a 2017 interview with The Mirror, John said: “It’s funny, we’ve never been friends. We’ve not been to each other’s houses. If we go away to somewhere like South Africa, we do things separately. If we do go out for a drink, I’ll invariably be at one end of a big old table and he’ll be at the other.”

He added: “Once, we had a bit too much to drink and filming got called off. We ended up having a massive fight about one of the contestants, and he got really stubborn – it was ridiculous. We’ve had a couple of stand-offs over the years about contestants, and I’ve just had to walk away from him.”

Later, in 2020, John gave an interview to Hello!, where he stated: “We are mates, but also mates fall out. We have to make sure our relationship is professional and that nothing infiltrates that at all.”

    ‘Great respect’

John then spoke about Gregg when he appeared on the Desert Island Dishes podcast in 2023. Then, he admitted they got on but had an unconventional relationship. He said: “He’s a friend, don’t get me wrong, but I don’t go to the pub with him. We’ve both not been to each other’s houses… we just don’t do it.”

John added the pair had “great respect for each other,” which he said was crucial in maintaining their professional partnership for more than two decades.

    ‘We love each other’

Last spring saw John and Gregg appear on Morning Live to discuss the latest series of MasterChef. During the interview, the Australian-born chef opened up on his close friendship with co-star Gregg.

“How have you put up with 20 years of Gregg Wallace? That’s the first question,” Gethin Jones asked.

    “It’s a joy isn’t it?” John replied.

“We love each other. We’ve been together for a really long time and it’s pretty extraordinary. 20 years later, we still hug each other and say hello and we’re nice to each other, so that’s pretty good,” he then added.

As it stands, John currently follows Gregg on Instagram. Gregg has unfollowed John, though.

    Divide between John and Gregg

Since the scandal erupted, though, John and Gregg have remained estranged – in public at least.

John distanced himself from the allegations surrounding his co-host when they emerged last year. In December, he shared a statement that read: “Since last Friday I have been away filming MasterChef overseas. I love my job and I love MasterChef. I love being part of it and I will continue to be part of it.

“During the last few days, I’ve been trying to make the best cookery programme, so being busy making the show and caring for our contestants has allowed me little time to think about anything else, but that has been hard. The thought of anyone who has appeared on our show not having a brilliant time has been awful to hear. And I have found the press report truly upsetting.

“But as I hope everyone appreciates, there is an investigation underway, which I fully support. So I cannot make any further comment at this stage. I hope that you all understand and respect my silence on the matter moving forward.”

    Double MasterChef sacking

Last week, it was revealed that Gregg had been axed by Banijay, the company that makes MasterChef. He declared: “I will not go quietly. I will not be cancelled for convenience. The full story of this incredible injustice must be told and it is very much a matter of public interest.”

Earlier today (July 15), it was John’s turn for the axe to fall. The BBC shared the news in a statement, stating that after a complaint alleging John used racist language was upheld, it was left with no choice but to not renew his contract.

John denied the use of racist language in a statement earlier today, but hasn’t yet broken his silence about his MasterChef axe.

One thing that does seem broken, however, is his relationship with Gregg – both on and off screen.

  • Meghan Markle using a surrogate and moonbump to fake pregnancy are just ‘nightmare’ conspiracy theories!

Meghan Markle using a surrogate and moonbump to fake pregnancy are just ‘nightmare’ conspiracy theories!

The Duchess of Sussex is being targeted by ‘twisted’ trolls, her friend says

The Duchess of Sussex has spoken out about the abuse she receives online and on social media before, but cruel conspiracy theories that Meghan Markle used a surrogate and a moonbump to fake her pregnancy with Archie and Lilibet are making her life a ‘nightmare’.

The royal left The Firm with Prince Harry in January 2020 to find a new life in America. The couple settled down in Montecito with their son Prince Archie who was born the year before. They later welcomed daughter Lilibet in 2021.

However, ‘twisted’ trolls have long been claiming Meghan Markle faked her pregnancy both times, and that she used a moonbump to hide accusations she used a surrogate. But her friend has spoken out about the cruel rumours and the effect it’s having on the royal.

Baseless rumours claim Meghan Markle used a surrogate

The rumours have been swirling around the dark corners of the internet since she gave birth to Prince Archie. However, after the royal shared a video of herself twerking while in hospital before giving birth to Princess Lilibet, they escalated.

Meghan was slammed for the dancing clip, which included Prince Harry, by commentators and critics.

However, her life is being made a ‘nightmare’ by the cruel conspiracy theories, friend Christopher Bouzy claimed.

Christopher is a close friend of the Sussexes, appearing in their 2022 Netflix documentary.

He came out recently to slam the baseless rumours Meghan Markle used prosthetic bellies – known as a moonbump – to fake her pregnancy and that she used a surrogate.

He said Meghan’s only “crime was falling in love with a prince”.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have two children together (Credit: Dutch Press Photo/Cover Images)
The tech entrepreneur said: “When Meghan Markle posted a lighthearted video of herself dancing in a hospital room while nine months pregnant, she probably thought she was sharing a relatable moment that other mothers would appreciate. Instead, within hours, online trolls and conspiracy theorists weaponised it as “proof” she was never pregnant at all’.

“This nightmare is what Meghan’s life has become. Every joyful moment gets twisted into ammunition by people who’ve made destroying her their full-time job. And we need to talk about what this sustained cruelty has done to a woman whose only crime was falling in love with a prince.”

He went on: “Imagine being nine months pregnant, your body aching, preparing to bring life into the world, and thousands of strangers are dissecting your every photo to “prove” your baby isn’t real.”

Meghan Markle opened up over her miscarriage (Credit: Dutch Press Photo/Cover Images)

Why do people think Meghan Markle used a moonbump and was ‘never pregnant’?

Conspiracy theories claim the video of Meghan Markle twerking revealed ‘evidence’ the pregnancy was fake – without any real conviction.

The unhinged claims say the equipment in the background was fake, and not part of a real labour ward when likely they hadn’t stepped foot in that hospital.

Others claimed her baby bump was too high, the wrong shape, or that it had weird ‘bumps’ on the front and believed it proved Meghan Markle was wearing a moonbump. When in reality, it was likely her clothes moving due to her dancing or the fact many women before labour wear a monitor across their bump.

Mr Bouzy referenced the moonbump theory in a column for Newsweek: “The “moonbump” conspiracy, which claims Meghan [Markle] faked both pregnancies with prosthetic bellies, represents a special kind of cruelty.

“Here’s a woman who bravely shared her miscarriage story to help other women feel less alone in their grief. She opened up about one of the most painful experiences a person can endure, and how do these conspiracy theorists respond? By claiming her subsequent pregnancies were elaborate hoaxes.”

    Royal’s miscarriage tragedy

The Duchess of Sussex shared her experience of suffering a miscarriage in a personal essay which was published in The New York Times at the end of 2020. She says it began when she was holding her son Archie, and spoke about the emotional and physical pain from the tragedy.

Discussing the “almost unbearable grief” with losing a child, she tried to break down the stigma of talking openly about it.

The mum-of-two also spoke about her miscarriage on her latest podcast, Confessions of a Female Founder, where she explained the need to ‘detach’ from the hope associated with the pregnancy.

She said: “I’ve spoken about the miscarriage that we experienced, and I think in some parallel way, you have to learn to detach from the thing that you have so much promise and hope for.”

Charlotte choked up speaking to a widower on the show

During today’s Good Morning Britain, host Charlotte Hawkins was visibly moved following an emotional interview.

The 50-year-old presenter fronted the ITV daytime show on Tuesday (July 14) alongside Richard Madeley. While covering a range of topics, Charlotte Hawkins found herself choking up during a heartfelt conversation.

On the show, Charlotte and Richard welcomed Tristan, a widower whose wife, Dr Susan Michaelis, died of breast cancer.

Dr Susan had been a strong advocate for research into lobular breast cancer for 14 years while battling the same disease. Her widowed husband used his appearance to raise awareness and described his wife as an “amazing” person whom he misses dearly.

At the end of their conversation, Tristan shared: “Thank you to all the women who have this disease, for giving it some airtime.”

Richard Madeley responded: “Oh, it’s you that deserves the thanks.”

Charlotte was totally moved and expressed her gratitude towards Tristan. “Thank you for coming in when this has only just happened, and you know, I know that obviously, you were supremely proud of her and everything she was doing,” she said.

As she tried to continue, Charlotte fought back her tears.

“I know she would be so proud of you continuing this fight,” she said before choking up. “Sorry, it’s one of things that have effected a lot of people this morning,” Charlotte added.

Tristan revealed the Labular Moon Shot Project, which was initiated by his wife in 2023, had a goal of raising £20m for research. It is receiving political support and Tristan is set on securing the funding for researchers.

“The sooner we get the research done into the basic biology of the disease, the sooner we will have specific treatment for this disease,” he urged viewers.

May Susan’s cherished memory bring you comfort and strength as we navigate this painful loss together,” one user wrote.

“Oh my goodness I’m so saddened to hear this. Can’t believe it. What an amazing woman she was to fight for all of us dealing with lobular cancer..sending my thoughts and love to all of her family and friends xx,” another person shared.

“This is devastating. What a truly brave lady. So sad,” a third remarked.

While Coleen and everyone celebrated the news, Brian admitted he knows he is “very lucky” and wants to advocate for more screening procedures for prostate cancer.

    Brian Nolan’s cancer recovery

Speaking about Brian’s recovery, Coleen admitted she didn’t realise how quick he would bounce back.

She said: “I was quite astounded by how quick your recovery actually was.”

Brian agreed: “I agree. I don’t want to preach to anybody or upset them but I was very lucky my cancer was encased.”

Brian went on to emphasise just how important it is to get checked, because the key is finding it early enough to be treatable.

As for what his initial symptoms were, Brian admitted he went to see his doctor because of an issue with his bladder.

Brian said: “My GP said: ‘Well it could be that but let’s go through the protocol’. He went through an inspection and he found something he didn’t like and sent me for an MRI. He then didn’t like my MRI scan and so I had the biopsy. That was the one that found the cancer.”

Brian admitted that the whole process of his diagnosis took 6-7 weeks. But that’s when Coleen asked him if he had ignored it for a while. He said he had because he didn’t think it was going to be something serious.

  • Prince Harry’s ‘peace summit’ with the royal family could affect Archie and Lilibet!

Prince Harry’s ‘peace summit’ with the royal family could affect Archie and Lilibet!

But could it be dependent on the relationship with The Firm?

Prince Harry’s children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, could go to school in the UK, an expert reckons, amid recent claims of a royal family “peace summit” taking place.

The children of Prince Harry, 40, and Meghan Markle, 43, have barely spent any time living in the country of their father’s birth. Prince Archie, now six, was born in London. But after the Duke and Duchess of Sussex stepped away from royal duties, the family left Britain in the spring of 2020. Princess Lilibet, meanwhile, did not arrive into the world until a year later. She was born in California in the US.

However, despite Meghan’s reported reservations about her kids being educated in Britain, a former royal butler has speculated that UK schooling could align with recent royal approaches.

It comes amid claims that a “peace summit” took place recently between aides of the king and the Sussexes. It has sparked rumours of a possible reconciliation between Harry and Meghan and the royal family. They have remained estranged for some years now.

Will Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet go to school in the UK?

According to Hello! magazine, former royal butler Grant Harrold pondered whether Harry and Meghan Markle might weave British schooling into their offspring’s US upbringing.

He is reported to have told Study Dog that Prince Harry is “quite keen” for Archie and Lilibet to experience being educated in the UK.

When asked about whether the younger Sussexes might attend school or university in the UK, Mr Harrold is said to have responded: “It’s very likely and completely possible.”

It’s very likely and completely possible.

Additionally, he reportedly went on: “If they have their younger education in America, I’m sure their father will be quite keen to have a bit of a British education. But then it depends on how the relationship is with the rest of the family when the time comes.”

    Will Meghan object?

Prince Harry previously indicated in 2024, during an appearance on Good Morning America, that he “very much enjoy[s] living here and bringing up my kids here”.

Meghan has also expressed concerns about schools in the UK before now. She told The Cut in 2022: “If Archie were in school in the UK, I’d never be able to do school pickup and drop-off without it being a royal photo call with a press pen of 40 people snapping pictures.”

She added at the time: “Sorry. I have a problem with that. That doesn’t make me obsessed with privacy. That makes me a strong and good parent protecting my child.”

Nonetheless, Mr Harrold hopes the two kids will get a taste of schooling in the UK.

“Time will tell,” he added. “But I’d like to think that they would get a bit of education here. As royals normally do some gap year somewhere.

“The king famously went to Australia. So it is possible that coming to the UK could be part of that for Archie or Lilibet.”

  • Louis Tomlinson hits out at ‘hurtful’ comments over mother’s tragic death aged 43!

Louis Tomlinson hits out at ‘hurtful’ comments over mother’s tragic death aged 43!

Louis and his mum were extremely close

One Direction member Louis Tomlinson has hit out at “hurtful” trolls who have made comments on numerous aspects of his life – including the death of his mother.

For the past 15 years, Louis has been no stranger to having his personal life discussed by those online. Previously, he seemed able to brush it off. However, in recent months, following trolling regarding his new relationship with Zara McDermott, he has taken a step away from social media. And it seems things have now got even worse.

In the early hours of the morning (July 15), Louis Tomlinson took to X to explain why he hasn’t been online, admitting he has been cruelly trolled over the heartbreaking death of his mother.

Louis Tomlinson hits out at trolls

At the beginning of 2016, Louis welcomed his son, Freddie, with ex-girlfriend Briana Jungwirth.

His happiness was soon replaced by utter sadness, though. In December 2016, it was revealed that Louis’ mum, Johannah Deakin, had tragically passed away from leukaemia. Days later, Louis was scheduled to debut his solo career on The X Factor, which he amazingly went ahead with.

Over the years, Louis has spoken about how close he and his mum were growing up, and how much her death impacted him and his family.

But it seems some social media users are using the tragedy to troll Louis online. And he has had enough of it.

Taking to X, Louis wrote: “The past few months have made it impossible to be on here. All the conspiracy chat about my relationship, my son or even stretching sometimes to opinions my mum. It’s just too much and too hurtful for me to see!

“Thank you to everyone who has always had my back!”

While it’s unclear exactly what comments were made about his mum, it seems Louis saw them and has been deeply affected.

What was Johannah Deakin’s cause of death?

Shortly after Johannah’s death, it was revealed she had been diagnosed with leukemia earlier in the year. She tragically died at the age of 43.

Johannah was a mum of seven children, with three different husbands, and worked as a midwife.

Her relationship with Louis and her heartbreaking death was actually the inspiration of his hit song Two Of Us, released in 2020.

Unfortunately the tragedies don’t end there, as in 2019, one of Louis’ sisters, Felicite, heartbreakingly passed away at 18 years old following an accidental overdose.

    Fans support Louis

Following Louis’ post on X about the trolling, fans were immediately showing support for the 33-year-old singer.

One fan wrote: “We are deeply sorry that this keeps happening to you and the people you love, Louis. Please take all the time and space you need away from the chaos. You will always have our support and understanding no matter what.”

A second added: “Bringing your mum and son into this is absolutely unacceptable. I’m so sorry you had to read any horrible things about them.”

“No one is entitled to speak on your personal life. It’s cruel and invasive. You have given us so much, we should just be appreciating the music and supporting you. Full stop” another fan penned.

Another commented: “He was one of the only celebrities who had a genuine friendship with fans but people have ruined that and it’s so so sad to see.”
