✨ “Just a day before losing her sister Linda, Coleen Nolan shared laughter through tears at her hospital bedside — proof that even in the face of death, humour and love can shine brighter than grief. A heartbreaking yet beautiful final memory of sisterhood.”

Loose Women star Coleen Nolan opened up on the importance of laughter while she recalled a touching moment she had with sister Linda before her death.

At the beginning of the year, it was announced that singer Linda Nolan died at the age of 65 after a long battle with secondary breast cancer.

During Thursday’s instalment of Loose Women, the presenters discussed King Charles’ recent event at Buckingham Palace honouring cancer charities.

During the show, ITV’s Christine Lampard referred to a poignant statement from the programme of the Royal gathering where King Charles noted: “The darkest moments of illness can be illuminated by the greatest compassion.”

Looking towards Coleen, Christine mentioned how impactful and powerful those words must have been given the recent death of her sister Linda.

Coleen nodded in agreement before opening up about how humour has kept her going over these last few months, reports Belfast Live.

She candidly shared: “It always is! I’ve kind of got this thing where if I don’t laugh about it sometimes, then I won’t stop crying, and that’s getting nowhere.

“Life does have to go on, everything is the same the next day and people carry on with their lives.”

Coleen then relayed a comical incident involving Linda shortly before she died.

The Loose Women star recalled: “We were all with Linda at the hospital and we didn’t know at this point that we were going to lose her the next day. She was on oxygen, she was sitting up in bed, eating what she said was revolting rice pudding.

“They told her to stop talking because they couldn’t get her oxygen levels up. So, she was sitting up, she had a 100 per cent oxygen mask on and then she’d move it and start talking.

“So, I’m talking to her, and I’m watching the thing go down and down, then I’d go, ‘Linda, please shut up and put your oxygen mask on!’”

“We were just crying laughing because she’d take it off, wait until it got to a certain level while she could get her story out then put it back on. We laughed and what a great memory to have before, 24 hours later she passed away.”

At the start of February, Linda was commemorated with a heartfelt memorial service at St Paul’s Church in Blackpool where she had tied the knot with her husband Brian Hudson.

The funeral witnessed an incredible turnout as hundreds congregated in the streets to show their love for the Nolan family during such a poignant time.

Reflecting on the immense support on Good Morning Britain previously, Anne Nolan mentioned: “My sister Maureen started crying. I mean, we were all very emotional, but she started crying because of all the people that were there.

“She said, ‘I’m so glad because Linda would’ve been so disappointed if all these people hadn’t turned up.’”

Linda Robson has opened up about feeling “really emotional” when Pauline Quirke’s son gave an update on her dementia battle.

Pauline’s husband Steve Sheen announced the 61-year-old was retiring from public life in January. It came after she was first diagnosed with dementia in 2021.

Linda, who starred alongside Pauline in Birds of a Feater, says Charlie Quirke recently revealed his mum has “down days” but has been “quite up” recently. Pauline even recently asked about Linda, despite concerns she was struggling to recognise friends and family, reports Bristol Live.

Speaking on Loose Women: The Podcast, Linda said: “Charlie rang me and just said she is doing really, really well at the moment. Sometimes she has down days but at the moment she is quite up about everything.

“He said they got really, really excited when she said, ‘Here, where’s my mate Linda Robson?’ So I got quite emotional when he told me that as well.”

Back in February, Maurice Gran, co-writer of Birds of a Feather, explained Pauline was experiencing trouble recognising her own family members. He lamented: “Since the diagnosis, her condition has gathered pace.

“She’s still only 65 so your heart goes out to her. Initially, she felt she was beginning to lose her grip. Now, we understand she struggles to identify members of her own family.”

Reflecting on their close-knit bond, Linda, 67, lauded Pauline as an “amazing actress” and her “best friend”. She said: “Amazing things have happened to us.

“When Birds of a Feather first came out, we started getting invited to everything. We got given VIP tickets to Stringfellows, and all these different places, we couldn’t believe our luck.”

Starring alongside Lesley Joseph, Pauline and Linda’s careers skyrocketed with their roles in Birds of a Feather from 1989 to 1998. The show returned for two Christmas specials after it ended.

However, Linda has confirmed that there are no plans for the beloved sitcom to make a comeback. She disclosed: “No, it’s not going to come back. Because of Pauline, she’s not going to work again now.”

The Loose Women panelist shared her heartache over Pauline’s condition after the announcement in January. On Instagram, she penned: “For the past three years, I’ve been in close contact with her husband, Steve, and have spent time with Pauline. It breaks my heart to see her endure such a terrible illness.”

Pauline, known for her roles in ITV’s Broadchurch, Emmerdale, and the BBC’s The Sculptress, received an MBE for her service to charity, contributions to the entertainment industry, and her involvement with youth through her Pauline Quirke Academy of Performing Arts (PQA), which has educated over 15,000 students.

Steve made the heartfelt announcement of his wife Pauline’s retirement from acting, saying: “It is with a heavy heart that I announce my wife Pauline’s decision to step back from all professional and commercial duties due to her diagnosis of dementia in 2021. Pauline has been an inspiration through her work in the film and TV industry, her charity endeavours and as the founder of the very successful Pauline Quirke Academy of Performing Arts.”

He continued to praise her impact: “Her talent, dedication and vision have touched countless lives, and will continue to do so through the legacy of her work and through PQA where her vision and guidance has facilitated many young people’s progression and interest in the arts, and enhanced their self-confidence.”

Raw and painfully honest, she admitted she creates her own “trolls” 👹 in her head. Her confession hit home — because so many silently do the same.

Loose Women star Nadia Sawalha made an emotional confession on Friday’s show

Nadia Sawalha, the beloved Loose Women presenter, was visibly moved on Friday’s show as she opened up about her struggles with body image.

Despite being an advocate for body positivity, Nadia has had a long-standing battle with body dysmorphia.

The emotional moment unfolded after Kaye Adams presented a mock-up of what the Loose Women would look like as Barbie dolls, featuring Myleene Klass, Jane Moore, and Olivia Attwood. But it was Nadia’s turn that left her stunned by the unrealistic representation.

Reacting to the doll version of herself, Nadia confessed: “I think the big problem with it is it looks like a really big bowl of something, I didn’t stop eating until it was all gone. It is just the oddest thing.”

Kaye quickly reassured her, saying, “It doesn’t look like you at all,” as Nadia explained: “It was a shock and I sort of laughed, but because I am body dysmorphic, I do see something different than what I am, and I’ve worked so hard at not having that image of myself.”

Frankie Bridge offered her support, suggesting, “I think if you took the bowl out, it would be much better,” reports Belfast Live.

Nadia continued to share her inner turmoil: “It just went to that morphed idea of myself. It just really did knock me for a bit, and then all those trolls that live in my head.”

She elaborated on her mental struggle, adding, “That’s why I always say trolls, because I create the best trolls ever in my own brain to have a go at myself, and it all sort of like it started to come back in.

“‘Oh my God, you’re just this… and you’re that…’ and then it just got ridiculous. I was really quite like, freaking out and thinking, ‘how much weight have I put on’ and all of this sort of stuff.”

The Loose Women host went on to explain that she had to tell herself off for thinking that way because “there is so much suffering going on in the world.

“There is so much more than this in your own brain, giving you nonsense to think about, just get on with it.

“So I made my own doll and posted that instead, and it was an activist doll, because my activism is my is my heart and soul, and I felt healed.”

Frankie and Kaye went on to comfort and support Nadia, telling her the doll “looked nothing like you.”

Kaye also pointed out: “I think that madness, that noise you described, an awful lot of people will relate to.”

On the latest episode of the Loose Women podcast, Linda Robson and Jane Moore took to the hot seat, where they discussed jealousy in friendships.

As the pair received a dilemma from a listener, asking if it was “normal” to be jealous of their friend’s successes, Jane asked Linda: “What about you and Pauline Quirke? You’ve known each other since you were ten years old. You’ve both been in the business, so were there ever times when you felt a bit jealous of your success?”

Linda then responded: “I won’t say that I felt jealous of her success, but sometimes I thought, ‘Oh, I’d love to have a part like that,’ because she’d done some amazing things in the past like Broadchurch and lots of other different things.”

She continued: “So, I’ve never been jealous of it but I just often thought I’d have loved to have gotten that part myself, and I’ve even told her that as well.” Clarifying, Jane said: “So envious rather than jealous?” as Linda agreed.

It comes after Linda opened up about feeling “really emotional” when Pauline Quirke’s son gave an update on her dementia battle.

EastEnders’ Joe Swash has opened up about his “addiction” to online shopping on TikTok, which he fears could land him in “big trouble” with his wife, Loose Women’s Stacey Solomon.

The TV star candidly shared his concerns over the financial impact of his frequent impulse purchases, acknowledging that he often falls for items sold at low prices but then ends up buying them in bulk, something he believes is influenced by his ADHD.

ADHD, as described by the NHS website, means your brain functions in a different fashion, leading to difficulties with concentration and sitting still.

The condition can also cause a potential tendency towards impulsive behaviour, including while shopping.

On Tom Price’s ‘My Mate Bought A Toaster’ podcast, Joe confessed his latest buy – a slingshot chicken finger toy – caught his interest while planning family time for his and Stacey’s brood, including their children Rex, Rose, Belle, and Joe’s Harry, along with Stacey’s sons Zachary and Leighton from previous relationships.

Joe eagerly told Tom: “I bought 20 of them. So everyone’s going to be able to have a go,” prompting the host, who also has ADHD, to quip about the excitement awaiting the children: “There’s going to be a slingshot chicken off when daddy gets home.”

Joe quipped: “There sure will be! Or I’m going to be in real big trouble by Stacey because I’ve just wasted more money on some other pointless product.”

When asked about his spending habits, the I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! champ confessed: “Yeah. I think the trap that I fall into is that because I feel like I buy stuff at a low price, I forget about the quantity of stuff that I’m getting.

“So instead of buying three or four things at a really high price that might last and be really handy, I’ll buy hundreds of little things.”

Discussing online shopping hits and misses, Joe admitted that gaining his wife’s approval is tough: “I don’t think Stacey will admit to me passing any test because she doesn’t… she’s not comfortable with my TikTok addiction. So she doesn’t want to feed into it.”

The TV star, who is being treated for ADHD, shared his recent diagnosis: “I’ve just been recently diagnosed with it, so I’m sort of new to it. So, I don’t really know [about it], I’ve started the medication and stuff like that.”

He humorously added: “I lost the medication, that’s part of the ADHD I think, it’s all swings and roundabouts. So, I’ve had to order some more of the medication.”

In the present day, people often slide into the DMs of attractive Instagram models for a bit of fun. However, back in the early 2000s, if you fancied a quick peek, you had to physically go to the shop and purchase a magazine.

FHM, Loaded, Nuts and Zoo were the popular choices, featuring a plethora of busty beauties that graced the bedroom walls of lads nationwide.

But as the decade came to an end, due to the rise of the internet and shifting attitudes towards glamour models, the lads’ mag industry found itself struggling, leaving its pin-ups searching for a new path. Some fared better than others, reports the Daily Star.

From homelessness and illness to heartbreak and unexpected Hollywood careers, here’s what happened next for the lads’ mag babes….

Gail initially made her name hosting Fully Booked and Top of the Pops, but soon expanded her career to become a favourite of the lads’ mags, discussing orgasms and even having her naked rear projected onto the Houses of Parliament to promote FHM magazine’s 100 sexiest women poll in 1999.

The Scottish star tied the knot with Toploader guitarist Dan Hipgrave in 2001 and welcomed daughter Honey a year later.

Despite appearances, she was privately living with post-natal depression and when her marriage ended in 2005, she was hit with alopecia and lost all her hair.

“It was absolutely terrifying, I didn’t know what was going on,” she later recounted.

“We didn’t have any therapy, we just sat there. People were crying and acting quite strangely, obviously. I was drugged up to my eyeballs and found it all very distressing.”

Then in 2017, Gail, now 54, faced the darkest time of her life when she declared bankruptcy and found herself without a home, resorting to sleeping on a park bench in Hampstead Heath.

“Those were the scariest nights of my life. There were lots of terrifying noises. I had no idea what they were. I was freezing and I didn’t know who was coming for me,” she shared with The Sun.

She attributed her financial downfall to her hair loss.

“Losing my hair was a big thing. I was OK with it and people around me would say it was fine but people stopped booking me for TV work,” she explained.

“The jobs that were coming so freely during the nineties weren’t there for me any more. By then I was renting a place and my savings started to dribble away.”

Hailing from Lewisham, London, and born to a dinner lady mum and window-fitter dad, Keeley’s rise to stardom began when she clinched victory in the Daily Star’s Search for a Beach Babe contest at the age of 17.

With candid remarks such as: “If I’m swimming in a pool and my bikini pops off, I’m not bothered – I’ll just carry on,” she quickly became a favourite, landing gigs with Loaded, Nuts, Zoo, and FHM, which playfully described her as a Kentish melon farmer.

Living out her wildest dreams at the peak of her career, she reminisced: “I was travelling all the time, and financially my situation changed a lot. I was earning a lot of money. At the time you don’t realise and I look back and think ‘that was crazy.’”

Now 38, Keeley once topped the list as the glamour model with more sultry snaps than anyone else in her heyday but hung up her bikini in 2009 when her earnings plummeted from £30,000 a shoot to a meagre £1,000 due to dipping magazine sales.

Shrewdly, she turned her financial tide by investing in acting lessons in Los Angeles, going on to appear in the acclaimed 2011’s Like Crazy, British gangster flick St George’s Da,y and the Hollywood hit Horrible Bosses 2.

On the set of Horrible Bosses, Keeley met actor Jason Sudeikis, who was dating actress and director Olivia Wilde at the time. Then, in 2020, she began starring in Ted Lasso, a sports comedy-drama, staying in the role until the programme’s finale and even co-writing an episode.

Keeley was reunited with her Horrible Bosses co-star, Jason, 49, as he played Ted, and the two dated from 2021 to 2022.

On Keeley’s Instagram, her bio pokes fun at her old career, reading: ‘Livin’ my breast life’, but notes her current occupation as ‘writer’. Her debut memoir, Everyone’s Seen My T**s, will be released on July 15, 2025.

Leilani Dowding didn’t just rely on her looks; the brainy beauty studied economics at the University of London and claimed the title of Miss Great Britain before becoming the toast of the lad mags.

Yet she left it all behind for a life in Los Angeles in the mid-noughties, where she later married Raquel Welch’s ex-husband, restaurant mogul Richie Palmer.

Despite the love they shared, they struggled with the 26-year age difference, ultimately leading to divorce due to conflicting views on starting a family.

Speaking out against accusations of being a gold digger on VH1’s Tough Love Miami, Leilani defended her integrity, saying: “I was the one who wanted to get divorced from my ex. He just assumed I would want something from it and offered me a huge settlement. Because it was my choice, I didn’t ask for anything.”

Tackling assumptions head-on, she said: “Because he is a lot older, people assume that yes, I was a gold digger. My ex husband was amazing and such a gentlemen.

“But he didn’t want kids and I did. That is why we didn’t work out. We are still friends and if he ever thought I was just out for money, he would probably never speak to me again.”

Leilani, 45, joined The Real Housewives of Cheshire in series nine following the departure of original Housewife, Lauren Simon. But after just one series, Leilani confirmed she would be departing the ITVBe programme.

But six years after her exit, the show hit its tenth anniversary with many original stars including Tanya Bardsley, Leanne Brown, Dawn Ward and Magali Gorre making their return to the show. They have been joined by Hanna Kinsella, Ester Dee and Nermina Pieters-Mekic.

However, Leilani, who found fame as a glamour model, later took to social media to reveal she wasn’t asked back for the tenth anniversary. The star, who is engaged to The Cult’s Billy Duffy believes it’s down to her often controversial comments on social media.

Sharing a video on social media, Leilani said: “A few of my friends and some people I don’t know who follow me or the show have asked if I’ll be going back on The Real Housewives of Cheshire as it’s the tenth anniversary and they’re bringing back a lot of the previous cast members. But no, I haven’t been asked.

“It’s possible because I’ve been very outspoken about political and social things that no-one on mainstream TV should ever talk about. Also, I think it’s more likely because there would be no storyline for me. I live south of Cheshire now, just a little bit, south of the border. I haven’t spoken to or hung out with any of the women since I left the show.”

With an envious figure, it’s no shocker that she was once crowned FHM’s Sexiest Woman in the World.

Having burst onto the glamour scene in 1997, Kelly Brook quickly became adored by readers as a Page 3 icon, and graced FHM’s Sexiest countdown with her presence annually until its closure in 2015.

Now 45, Kelly had a disastrous stint presenting the Big Breakfast in 1999 before she quit after just a matter of months, amid claims she stumbled over the pronunciation of big words.

You can’t keep a good girl down though and Kelly bounced back, hosting Celebrity Love Island and getting engaged to Hollywood actor Billy Zane. But their engagement came to an end, eventually parting ways in 2008.

Her private life faced further heartache when, in 2011, Kelly experienced devastating loss – a miscarriage five months into her pregnancy with then-boyfriend, rugby ace Thom Evans, followed by yet another later that year.

Their relationship couldn’t weather the storm, with Thom relocating to Los Angeles for his modelling career soon after and making it clear he saw no future in taking their commitment any further. “When I brought up the subject of marriage and children, the colour drained from his face,” Kelly revealed in her autobiography.

She claimed: “He wanted to focus on his ‘new life’ in LA – a wife and children would slow him down. He didn’t want to be in a relationship anymore. It was obvious.”

Nowadays, she lives in Kent alongside her model husband Jeremy, and hosted the drive time show on Heart London.

This Morning’s Cat Deeley is worried about her ex-husband Patrick Kielty as she moves out of the family home, it has been reported. It has been revealed that a removals team was spotted putting boxes into a van outside of the North London house.

Patrick is thought to be staying in the house which is close to the £5million five bedroom home the couple bought together two years ago.

It was announced back in July of this year that the pair would be going their separate ways after being married for 13 years. However, Cat is now said to be concerned about her ex partner after the split.

A source told The Sun: “She’s focusing on her work and the future. She’s worried Patrick seems to be taking longer to adjust. He misses the family unit, and the pressure of work on top of the public split has made it hard for him.”

They added: “He’s naturally more of a brooder while Cat is more get-up-and-go. Cat still cares a lot for him and wants him to be in a good place for the boys and for himself so that does cause her some concern. The main thing now is for her not to allow herself to be dragged down and to keep doing what she can.”

Cat and Patrick announced their split via a joint statement on social media. They said: “We have taken the decision to end our marriage and are now separated. There is no other party involved.

“We will continue to be united as loving parents to our children and would therefore kindly ask for our family privacy to be respected.”

This comes as Patrick made his return to hosting The Late Late Show this month as he also addressed his marital split. As the show began, Patrick took the opportunity to express gratitude to fans for their support following his split from the ITV star reports Belfast Live.

Patrick started to get emotional as he talked about his family in the opening of The Late Late Show. He said: “Honestly it is so nice to be back with you especially after this summer where I have genuinely been blown away by all the love and support that has been sent my way.

“One of the greatest joys of hosting this show is that you are never alone, so to all of you that have been so kind to me and my family these past few months, I want to say a huge go raibh mile maith agat.

“It’s one of the many reasons why walking out here is always a privilege and why being back here tonight truly puts flesh on my bones and why it never gets old to say these words, welcome to the Late Late Show.”

Denise Welch has opened up about her incredible transformation, which continues to shape her life

Denise Welch has revealed the moment she decided to undergo a dramatic overhaul of her life. The Loose Women broadcaster and actress has spoken openly about her life and how she had previously battled with alcohol. Speaking candidly, she revealed that going sober 13 years ago was the “best decision” she and her husband, Lincoln Townley, had ever made.

But after ditching alcohol, which she says was a “momentous point” in their lives, she later realised that she realised she may be swapping alcohol for food addiction due to an “addictive personality”. Denise revealed to the Mirror: “I very quickly realised that I was in danger of swapping alcohol addiction for food addiction.”

The Waterloo Road star went don’t to say that “all of the bad things” in her life had kept her slim without her trying – including alcohol and depression. “That stops me from eating when I’m having an episode, suddenly, the alcohol and the bad things were taken out of my life, I realised I was starting to replace alcohol with food,” she said.

Denise, 66, went on to explain that she found herself “bingeing” and eating “way past” her full point, but it was never enough. She revealed she had started secretly eating, heading to the kitchen for food, and hiding chocolate. But she later realised that she didn’t need to hide it from her family, as her husband, Lincoln and youngest, Hotel Portofino star son, Louis, didn’t care.

“Nobody cared – so why am I doing everything so secretly? Guiltily, like I used to drink,” she said. After Lincoln proposed to Denise, she realised she had put on two stones in “not a very long time”. She explained that while she realised some people often look to lose a significant amount of weight, the two stone to her was a great deal.

Explaining, she said: “It wasn’t just how aesthetically it made me look, because I carry a lot of my weight on my face, so it becomes very noticeable. I’m on television several times a week – and that’s not a very flattering medium, so I was aware of it there but it was also the fact I’ve never been super fit but I was aware it was impairing my breathing.”

But the realisation hit Denise while she was appearing in a theatre production in Kingston with Keith Allen. Recalling the moment, she said: “I tripped and fell on Kingston Bridge. I went to see this knee doctor and he said, ‘You’ve got osteoarthritis and you need to lose weight’. I thought ‘my God, I didn’t think I had that much of a problem’, the breathing and stuff was due to a sleep apnea problem that wasn’t caused by, but isn’t helped by, weight gain.”

The Loose Women star revealed that the programme completely changed her life

Denise explained that after discussing her plans to lose weight for her wedding, she was “inundated” by diet firms to front their campaigns. But it was a decision she made with Lincoln, who was also keen on losing weight. They decided on LighterLife as it was the only weight loss company which spoke about changing the relationship with food.

The company, for which Denise is an ambassador, uses mental approaches, such as CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy), group therapy or mentorship, and physical approaches. At first, she admits being wary about going to the group therapy as she didn’t want “all eyes” to be her but it was Lincoln who encouraged her to go along.

“I’m ever so grateful that I did, that first meeting changed my life,” she exclaimed. Although she says she would have lost weight in other ways, she admits she may have “piled it back on”, due to being a human whose weight fluctuates throughout life. “I always know that I’ve got the tools, the CBT tools to get me back on board,” she said, explaining that there are four processes that she can put in place.

After losing the two stone, Denise used her CBT skills to pack smoking in, something she took up when she was 16. She explained: “By applying the same CBT techniques to cigarettes, and that helped me, come off those as well. So they are treasured tools.” Denise has been a LighterLife ambassador for 13 years and still checks in with her doctor, Dr Kelly. “I have seen LighterLife and the mentors not only change people’s lives, but people’s lives,” she explained before adding: “I am a fervent believer that this works.”

Although Denise admits she has no medical experience, she believes that LighterLife does work, having seen firsthand how thousands of people have benefited from it. She often carries some of the LighterLife food around with her due to her hectic work schedule, with her favourite being the porridge and salted caramel chocolate bars. “I would say to give it a try and the help of working with these trained mentors who are there for you is life changing, it’s an incredible, supportive community,” she explained.

Each food pack is filled with “every mineral and every vitamin” that you may need. Over Christmas, Denise experienced a spell of poor mental and physical health, which impaired her appetite. “What I did was, I was using the LighterLife products to feel better, to know I was getting everything I needed,” she said before explaining that while it maintains her weight, she can often engage in a “total programme”.

“I live an actor’s life, we live a sort of sandwich lifestyle, we’re up and down, grabbing this and grabbing that,” acknowledging that she may not always get her five a day or vital minerals and vitamins. She added: “So at least I know that if I’m having the late night products, then, and I’m some way towards achieving that.”

Meanwhile, Denise’s doctor, Dr Kelly, shed light on the rising topic of diets on social media. She said: “The problem with social media weight loss trends is that often they’re not nutritionally complete, not effective nor sustainable, and often they can be downright dangerous.

“Alongside a nutritious, evidence-based, clinically effective weight loss plan, LighterLife helps you gain the tools required to silence that ‘food noise’ and successfully manage your weight in the longer term.” Dr Kelly went on to explain that LighterLife’s diet plan has used an “evidence-based solution”, explaining: “Unless you engage with a programme which is designed to support both the physical and the psychological changes needed to help you better manage your weight, which includes diet and tools to address ‘food noise’ then you are far less likely to be successful.”

Denise Welch is working with LighterLife, the leading weight loss programme, which combines formula-based nutritionally complete diet plans with cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) to help people holistically transform their lives. Denise lost two stone in two months with the programme. Find out more at lighterlife.com
