With Sue’s exit as Eileen airing on screen this evening (Friday, June 6), the actress has revealed why she’s decided that now is the right time to leave the show.

She shared: “I’m now 61 and I feel I’m now at a stage in my life, like most mums we have responsibilities, we have other things we have to consider [and] we’re bringing up our families – and I’ve got to the stage, my son is grown up now, he’s 29, I have no responsibilities left and I want to do something new. I want this decade to be about me.

“I really want to empower other women. Society at this point wants us all to shuffle off, don’t they. Just go away quietly, ‘You’ve had your days.’

“No, this is my decade. I’m more excited about this decade, hopefully you know, as long as I remain well, that this is going to be the most exciting decade for me. I’m really excited.”

Eileen Grimshaw decided to leave Coronation Street this evening as she packed her bags and headed off to the airport.

George Shuttleworth asked her to be honest with him about their relationship. Eileen then admitted that she only loved him as a ‘very dear friend.’

George then urged her to go to Thailand without him, with Eileen then deciding to move there with Jason Grimshaw and run the bar with him.

Asking Todd to visit them once she was settled out there, she then jumped into a cab with Jason and waved goodbye to the cobbles.

In his best-selling book, the prince gave readers a glimpse into the behind-the-scenes moment.

Harry described the hours before Lilibet’s birth as joyful and lighthearted, a stark contrast to the stress and formality that surrounded Archie’s birth in the UK.

“We ate and ate and then did the Baby Mama Dance around the hospital room,” he wrote.

In a sweet five-word statement, he added that the atmosphere was filled with “nothing but love and joy”.

The viral video came with a caption from Meghan.

Foreign policy expert Nile Gardiner took to X (formerly Twitter), writing: “This is insane. The Queen would have been appalled. Meghan and Harry’s royal titles should be removed as soon as possible.”

The emotional star admitted she’s ‘cried a lot’

Stacey Solomon has shared an update on her dog Teddy, after he was taken ill over Easter.

The star revealed back in April that she had to rush Teddy to the vets, asking her fans to pray for the pup’s recovery. Then, a week after revealing the days after the operation would be “crucial” for Teddy, she told followers what happened and how Teddy was doing.

Now she’s shared a heartbreaking update on the pooch…

Posting a video of herself speaking from her Pickle Cottage home at the end of April, Stacey said: “Hi, sorry I haven’t updated anyone. I know you’ve all been asking and worrying about Teddy and I’m just so grateful for him just being in your thoughts and stuff.

“He is home. I got to bring him home last week so he made it through the operation and through the period of time where it was the highest risk following the operation and I got to bring him home. I’m sorry I haven’t been on here. I’ve been trying to get my head around things.”

Stacey added: “Also I’m not a good crier. I’m not a good in-person crier. Like I hate crying in front of people. I just know if I’d have come on I would have cried. I’ve cried a lot. So I’ve just tried to keep myself away from any human contact so I can just cry alone.

“Teddy is home, I’m so grateful he’s home. He made it through the operation and he made it through the period of time everyone was really worried about and I got to bring him home. I am so happy he’s with us still.

“Obviously he is really not well still, and has had major surgery. So I have moved my work to work from home and cancelled some things so that I can try and help him recover. I do physio with him every day and I have to express his bladder throughout the day. And he’s on medication.”

Bladder problems and Stacey’s tears

She added: “Expressing his bladder has been a whole humbling experience. That has made me cry on a number of occasions because I just felt like I was doing a [bleep] job for Teddy and being a really [bleep] dog mum.”

Stacey then revealed her dog would be on crate rest for at least four weeks before he goes back to the vets for a check up. “He might never fully recover and this might be Teddy forever,” she said.

“I’m just taking every day as it comes and I’m trying to do my best as I want to give him the best chance of living a happy life,” she added. “We just need to see how it goes from here,” she said.

Stacey then revealed: “I don’t even think I’ve said what happened to him, have I? So on Good Friday, he lost the use of his back legs. That night he crawled in and we were like, what the hell? He’d been running round all day, no signs of pain, not curled up asleep or anything, just bam, couldn’t use his back legs, dragging himself around.”

She then added that she took him to the emergency vet, and the next day he was given an MRI. The scan revealed a disc in his back had “burst”. Stacey shared: “The vet was just like, he’s had a burst disc but all of his discs and all of his spine is not looking good at all. If you have a look at his disc they are all worn away.”

‘Trying to get my head around his care’

She then said she asked the vet if it was something she’d done that caused it. But the vet said where it had degenerated, even turning his head quickly could’ve made it happen.

“He had the operation and we’ll have to see how it goes from here. There is like a 30% chance he might recover full. But there’s also a massive chance that he’s going to be disabled and unable to urinate for himself and involuntary poos and will need a lot of physio and a lot of help for the rest of his life.

“So I’m just trying to get my head around that and work out what I can do for him. How I can give him his best chance and love him as much as possible and try and make him as happy and comfortable as possible in this situation.

“That’s why it’s taken me so long to come on here. I’ve just been trying to get my head around his care and looking after the kids,” she concluded.

Heartbreaking new update

This week (June 3), Stacey shared a new update – a month on from Teddy’s op. And, unfortunately, it isn’t good news.

Posting on Instagram, she shared a picture of a sleeping Teddy and said: “Teddy update. So many of you asking. After his vet appointment it looks likely that Teddy will never get the feeling back in his legs and will need our help with urinating and assisted walks and physio forever.

“But the good news is … the vet was so pleased with how happy Teddy was and how well we are doing his physio and managing his bladder so me and Joe were really happy with that and felt extremely proud.”

‘I feel sad for Teddy’

She then concluded: “I feel sad for Teddy but I’m also confident that me and Joe can give him the happiest life and all the love he deserves. So this new journey is forever. But we love Teddy so much we will just keep going and do our best to find new ways to keep him healthy and happy for as long as we can.”

She then shared her “favourite picture” of herself with both her dogs – Teddy and Peanut.

Soap Awards winner Steve McFadden, who plays EastEnders legend Phil Mitchell, missed the ceremony on Saturday night when it took place.

As ITV1 aired the big awards on Thursday 5 June, it was his co-star Adam Woodyatt, who plays Ian Beale, who accepted the award on his behalf. Actor Steve doesn’t always attend the big events, but this time fans were expecting to see him as he secured the trophy for Best Dramatic Performance at the British Soap Awards 2025.

So when actor Adam went up on stage on his behalf, it emerged Steve was not there to celebrate his deserved win. That said, Adam quickly explained the icon’s absence, with him taking some time away after such a heavy storyline.

Emotional scenes earlier this year, starting late last year, saw his character Phil struggling with his mental health. Events reached breaking point when Phil suffered from psychosis and suicidal thoughts, with him sadly making an attempt to end his life.

The portrayal earned actor Steve huge praise after his more than three decades on the show, from cast and viewers. Now he’s gone all the way and got the award, but sadly despite “wanting to be there” he couldn’t be.

Adam explained to the audience that Steve was on holiday after months of filming the tough storyline. In his absence, Adam collected the award and gave an epic speech that moved fans.

He said, after appearing to say to the award presenters: “Holiday, holiday,” that Steve had been “nervous” about getting the storyline right. He also said, and his cast agreed, that it had been a long time coming for Steve to win the award.

Adam shared on the stage: “Obviously I am not Steve McFadden. Steve is on a very well deserved holiday. He would have loved to have been here.”

Turning to his co-stars in their seats, Adam went on: “For us, isn’t it about time he won this? Steve for 35 years has been the most consistent brilliant colleague.

“He has been off the scale. I was in the green room with him before he started this storyline, and Steve was nervous. You would think after all the things that Steve has done over all this time, and he was nervous.

“I asked him come on mate, what is this about? And he said, ‘I just want to get it right’. And I went, you’ve got it right mate!” With that he raided the trophy in the air, gesturing that it as proof he’d done good and had nothing to worry about.

With that the crowd erupted into applause and Adam left the stage. Viewers were thrilled for the actor, taking to X to share their thoughts on his big win. One fan posted: “THE BEST ACTOR IN THE SOAP INDUSTRY FULL STOP!!!! AN ABSOLUTE LEGEND!”

Another fan said: “SO SO happy for Steve McFadden. What a legend.” A third fan wrote: “About time, congratulations to Steve McFadden.”

Snapped a couple of weeks ago alongside the King and legendary gardener Alan Titchmarsh at the Royal Chelsea Flower show, Becks has been putting in hard graft as an ambassador for the King’s Foundation. Already an OBE, in February he even enjoyed a private dinner at Highgrove, the King’s Gloucestershire pad.

Becks learnt long ago that all good things require time and effort. (Lest we forget, unlike some, he queued over night to pay his respects to the late Queen.) But David’s devotion to monarchy goes further that glad-handing and good photo-ops. Long dubbed celebrity royalty, the Beckhams have recently acquired an uncanny resemblance to the King and Queen.

Meanwhile back in Britain, the King’s heart must have sung when he saw Beloved Becks on his Birthday Honours List. First mooted for a knighthood in 2011 (blocked after implications in a tax avoidance scheme for which he has now been cleared) David is a national hero, a big royal fan, and, like the king, a beleaguered father.

Poor David, his family woes are proof (if any were needed) that money does not always buy happiness, but surely the titles will help restore order.

Stephen Graham has opened up about the “scary” emergency operation he underwent while on a plane.

Appearing on Late Night with Seth Meyers, the Adolescence actor spoke of a medical emergency that took place the last time he touched down in the States. After the host asked about his previous traumatic flight, Stephen responded by saying it was “a hell of an experience”.

He elaborated: “Look, I’m of a certain age, you know what I mean? You’re a gentleman, like myself. I don’t know; once you get over like 45, you tend to go to the toilet quite a lot of times.” His storytelling made the crowd laugh and had viewers wondering where this story was going exactly.

Graham went on to explain how many people opt to have a catheter fitted, which is something he himself had opted for. Ultimately , it was supposed to aid him in his bathroom habits, and he explained that after “three to four months”, you should be experiencing “fewer trips to the toilet”.

Although the Netflix star found himself in a bit of an unusual situation on a flight 10,000 feet in the air when everything had been fine, right up until that point. He tells the late-night host about drinking water on the flight as usual, going to the toilet and suddenly not being able to pee.

“I’m like, Oh, this doesn’t feel right,” he told Myers. “I knew I had to, and then silly Stephen thought, ‘Oh, well, if I go back to my seat and I just keep drinking water, at some point it will happen.’” After going back to his seat and some time passing, he went back to the toilet and was shocked by what happened next.

Graham said: “long story short, all of a sudden I went, but it was just pure blood,” adding that it was “very scary”. He further explained that he couldn’t stop the sheer amount of blood and began to have a “slight panic attack”.

He admitted that the entire situation had made him quite emotional, but luck was on his side, as he remembers taking a selfie with a fan before the flight, who just happened to be a doctor.

“He had another friend with him, who was a surgeon,” the actor explained. “So I’m there, and I explain. He’s like, ‘Ok,’ and the surgeon, Dr Haji, says, ‘We can work this out.’” The entire area he was in was sterilised, and a catheter was pulled out of an emergency box.

To put it bluntly, Graham said: “I drop my kecks, I get on the couch, and he performs a catheter operation there and then.” And, once it was over and done with, the adolescence star took a selfie with the doctors and crew on board to remember the moment.

David Beckham’s wife Victoria Beckham will get a new title – as the former footballer receives a knighthood. David has been ‘snubbed’ from receiving a knighthood for multiple years but it has now been revealed he will receive one in the King’s Birthday Honours list.

Next week, it is expected to be revealed that David will become a ‘Sir’ – just months after it was revealed that David allegedly launched into an angry rant about the perceived snub, branding the committee a ‘bunch of c***s’ and the honours system a “f**king joke”. He apparently wrote: “I expected nothing less… Who decides on the honours? It’s a disgrace to be honest and if I was American I would of got something like this 10 years ago… It’s p***ed me off those old unappreciative c***s.”

At the time, Beckham’s representative slammed the reports, accusing them of being misleading and based on manipulated content. They said: “This story is based on outdated material taken out of context from hacked and doctored private emails from a third-party server and gives a deliberately inaccurate picture.”

A close pal of Beckham later spoke to The Mirror about the incident, revealing that although Beckham regretted the messages, they were sent “in the heat of the moment”. The friend had said: “Genuinely, he wasn’t as vitriolic as that, but you do say some things in private and in the heat of the moment. To be honest, he does feel that he has given so much to his country. And sometimes you say things in private that anyone would say and you don’t really mean it. While he was frustrated in those emails, he was over it the moment he sent them. Getting the knighthood is not what his work is about. He doesn’t care if he gets a knighthood or not.”

With the news of a knighthood finally being given to David, it has also been revealed that Victoria will now be known as ‘Lady Beckham’ amid a huge family feud. Brooklyn Beckham and his wife Nicola Peltz have been locked in a rift with his parents.

Freddy Brazier has revealed he’s going to rehab in Spain. Jeff Brazier and Jade Goody’s youngest son, 20, today shared that he has been addicted to “smoking” from the age of 12 and will be seeking treatment to ‘get clean.’

It comes after Freddy’s relationship with dad Jeff is said to have strained to the point he left the family home and moved in with his maternal grandmother Jackiey Budden.

Freddy wrote on his Instagram page that he’s decided to take action in a bid to feel happy again and mend his relationships. He said: “I’ve decided that I will be cutting down and I want to go to Rehab In Marbs as I feel if I’m in England I won’t take getting clean seriously.

“I’ve been smoking from the age of 12 and it’s time to stop. It was a bad coping mechanism that turned into an addiction, something I relied on and something that made me feel sane and some what OK

“I’ve found a boxing club and a rehabilitation centre. Ive found someone I want to get to know and I’m happy. I got a good bunch of friends and I [want to] get out and enjoy myself.

“I want to be clean so I can live happily and have healthy relationships with people and be there for all of my family rather then feeling like I’m in the middle and have to choose a side.”

Over the week, concern has grown for Freddy after it emerged he had left his dad’s family home to spend more time with his maternal grandmother Jackiey.

David, 50, is set to finally get his wish as it’s been reported he is due to receive the honour in King Charles’ upcoming Birthday Honours List, which is set to be announced this month by The Gazette.

It has been claimed David is set to become a Sir while his wife Victoria Beckham will become Lady Beckham, as David will be reportedly named in the Kings Birthday Honours list next week.

However, the early announcement of Beckham’s reported knighthood could risk him losing the title before its officially awarded, a source has told the Mirror.

A source has told us: “David’s long-awaited knighthood could be on the ropes after the news leaked.”

“David has wanted this knighthood for many years so the last thing he needs is the horse bolting before he’s able to close the stable door. But, there are rules and protocols that those being awarded Honours must abide by – including a strict embargo on keeping hush hush before The Gazette shares the list.”

The Gazette is the UK’s official public record, in which the official Honours Lists are released alongside other public notices and information.

Meanwhile, Richard Fitzwilliams, royal commentator and former Editor of The International Who’s Who, explains: “There is a theoretical threat that names leaked before the Honours List is officially announced could have their honours removed. This is highly unlikely especially given the number of high-profile names leaked ahead of receiving their honours in the past, which have included Barbara Windsor and Tim Henman.

“A whistleblower revealed Tim Henman’s upcoming OBE award in December 2003. The leak included a memo from the main Honours committee and prompted concerns about the process, which ultimately led to much-needed reform,.

“Also, news of the late Barbara Windsor’s Damehood in the 2016 New Year’s Honours list was released, together with others, before the official announcement. This caused controversy, prompting an inquiry.”

He added: “However, Honours list leaks aren’t new, In 2019, a government report containing names and addresses of recipients was accidentally published. Also, a leak in 2003 revealed a secret list of 300 who had previously declined honours.”

“It appears there periodically seems to be a ‘mole’ in the system,” Richard suggested, before he added: “If the leak had come from David’s camp, then there may be a risk to his knighthood, but that most emphatically does not seem to be the case.”

“It is extraordinary that there has been no knighthood for David Beckham yet. He turned 50 in May and he is a phenomenon who only has an OBE. His charity work for UNICEF, helping to bring the Olympics to London and his incredible career achievements over the years, make the knighthood he will shortly be receiving long overdue.”

Amy Childs has left friends and fans worried after calling off her wedding to fiancé Billy Delbosq for the second time, sparking rumours of relationship troubles among those who are close to her. The former beautician, who shot to fame on The Only Way Is Essex nearly 15 years ago, became a household name thanks to her larger-than-life personality — and introducing the public to the concept of ‘vajazzling’.

After a romantic past full of ups and downs, Amy, 34, seemed to have finally found lasting love with Billy, a fellow reality star who once appeared on Channel 4 ’s First Dates. The couple got engaged in 2023 after welcoming twins Billy River and Amelia Mae.

But last month she postponed their wedding again, after already delaying it last year over doubts about whether Billy was truly ready to tie the knot.

This latest cancellation has caused speculation that not all is well in their relationship. Friends close to the couple have voiced their fears, with one source telling the Daily Mail : “Billy has always been a player. He’s one of the biggest players in Essex…now there are fears that all is not well, that something could have happened between them.”

Fuel was added to the fire when Amy was spotted in Brentwood looking visibly thinner and not wearing her engagement ring. However, another source close to the couple insisted the pair are still going strong, and suggested she only removed the ring to work out.

In the paparazzi snaps that sparked concern, she was indeed dressed in gym gear. However, Amy and Billy were also seen at Stansted Airport on Thursday while en route to Spain for TOWIE filming, looking “preoccupied and unsmiling”. One pal admitted: “They usually seem so happy together. This time they looked really down in the dumps, neither particularly looked like they wanted to be there.”

Behind the scenes, Amy has been privately coping with a family crisis. She recently told The Mirror that her mum Julie, who has also made appearances on TOWIE, suffered from a heart attack in April and had to be rushed to hospital for emergency surgery.

She added: “It has been intensely stressful. None of us was expecting Mum to have a heart attack – it turned our world upside down.

“It was so frightening. She had a stent put in and was in hospital for six days. She’s now home but she’s being monitored daily and is on a lot of medication. It’s so tough for her – she sometimes struggles to walk upstairs.”

Amy and Billy made the difficult decision to postpone their September wedding at Cliveden House in Berkshire. The TOWIE star explained: “It’s upsetting, but I know we’ve made the right decision. Right now, we’re focused on looking after Mum.”

In response to the online abuse over her weight loss, Amy hit back, saying: “People don’t know what is going on behind closed doors…To be honest I do feel better when I’m a bit heavier than I am at the moment. There’s so much going on – it’s the result of pure stress.”

Despite facing these heart breaking family challenges, Amy is still hopeful that her and Billy will be able to get married abroad next year, and have planned for their kids to play a special role in the wedding. She concluded: “We just want it to be amazing, not rushed.”
