ITV I’m A Celebrity fans convinced Dean McCullough’s campmates have ‘rumbled’ plan

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! fans – and star contestants – are growing tired of seeing Dean take on all the trials, but seem to be realising why it keeps happening

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! fans think the contestants are starting to turn on Dean McCullough.

The 33-year-old radio host may be rubbing some of his fellow campmates the wrong way – for a variety of reasons. While the radio host has admitted he is an early riser and knows to be chipper first thing – as his early morning radio show job demands it of him – he may be antagonising fellow campmates.

In recent episodes of the ITV reality show, N-Dubz star Tulisa Contostavlos has made it clear she does not appreciate him singing loudly first thing in the morning when she is still trying to sleep. Despite her politely sharing this news, he continued to loudly sing at her in scenes that aired on Monday.

While others are getting frustrated by the fact he keeps getting nominated by the public to take on all of the challenges. Loose Women star Jane Moore particularly objected to Dean being nominated for a sixth trial when she is desperate to undertake one herself. She turned to Dean – who is also sick of being nominated – and suggest he stay silent in order to avoid being nominated.

Her remark suggests she’s noticed his behaviour could be considered attention seeking and leading to him getting the most airtime. Viewers watching along have suggested the campmates are beginning to get wise to Dean’s behaviour and how it might be portrayed in the show.

One fan wrote on X: “Everyone clocking Dean and him always being chosen for the trials #ImACeleb.” Another wrote: “Love how they are all seeing through Dean’s act #ImACeleb.” And another wrote: “Not once has dean asked ‘but why do they keep picking me, what am I doing wrong’ for these trials like most usually do at this point. Because he knows why. He knows what he’s doing and he wants the air time. Stop voting for this loser! #ImACeleb.”

Another typed: “Sounds like all the camp mates are onto Dean and have had enough #ImACeleb.” And other berated the radio host for the way he sang at Tulisa after she asked him not to. One wrote: “Can’t Dean just respect anyone’s wishes please like just don’t sing while Tulisa is asleep? #ImACeleb.” And another typed: “Dean is really annoying. As the president of the Tulisa fan club I would like him to apologise to her #ImACeleb.”

On Monday, Dean undertook a trial called Jack and the Scream Stalk. He had to scale a huge construction while safely attached to a safety line and dip his hand into various boxes – filled with critters such as spiders and scorpions – to retrieve stars. It was his most successful trial to date – as he retrieved 10 stars out of a possible 12 before falling from the structure. Dean’s valiant efforts won him a round of applause from hosts Ant and Dec – and an ostrich egg dinner for the camp.

Zoe Ball, 53, announced on her Radio 2 Breakfast Show that she is stepping down from the role after six years, with her final show set to air on December 20.

Ball said she will miss her listeners and colleagues but not getting up early

Ball heaped praise on her successor: “Scott and I go way back to our Radio 1 days, when he was doing early mornings before me. He’s been a close friend for years, and I’m beyond thrilled it’s him taking over the Breakfast Show.

“Breakfast has always been his dream. He’s not only a blooming brilliant producer but one of the best in radio. I can’t wait to tune in on the school run!”

Mills recently stood in for Ball when she took a few weeks off from her show.

Trevor Nelson, who currently presents in the evenings Monday to Thursday, will replace Mills as the presenter of the 2pm to 4pm weekday afternoon show from January.

Nelson said: “I’m looking to have lots of fun and will be bringing a bit of soul to the new show.”

Meanwhile, DJ Spoony will extend his weekly edition of The Good Grove (Friday nights – 9-11pm) to four weekly shows on Monday – Thursday nights and Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s Kitchen Disco will be extended from one to two hours, kicking off on Friday nights at 9pm.

Ball hosted the BBC One Saturday morning children’s show Live and Kicking in 1997

Ball first joined BBC Radio in October 1997 as the co-host of the Radio 1 Breakfast Show with co-presenter Kevin Greening. From October 1998 to March 2000, Zoe hosted the programme solo, the first woman to do so.

Helen Thomas, head of Radio 2, said: “Zoe has woken up the nation on Radio 2 with incredible warmth, wit and so much joy since January 2019.

“I’d like to thank her for approaching each show with as much vim and vigour as if it were her first. I’m thrilled that that she’ll remain an important part of the Radio 2 family.”

She was the BBC’s highest-paid on-air female presenter in 2023/24.

Her salary of between £950,000 and £954,999 ranked her second on the list of top-earning talent behind Gary Lineker, according to the corporation’s annual report published in July.

Many more stars don’t make the list, with several of them almost certainly earning more than Ball and Lineker but they are not named because the BBC does not have to disclose the salaries of stars who are paid through production companies.

The latest figures from radio industry body Rajar state that Ball’s programme is the most listened to breakfast show in the UK.

But it dipped by 146,000 listeners to 6.28 million in the most recent quarter, according to industry figures from Rajar.

BBC Radio 2 is the UK’s most listened to radio station, with a weekly audience of 13.3 million, the figures show.

At the 2024 Audio and Radio Industry Awards, also known as the Arias, Scott Mills won gold for the best music entertainment show, while Ball won bronze for the best music breakfast show.

Denise Welch takes savage swipe at Loose Women co-stars after fight with Stacey Solomon

Loose Women co-hosts Denise Welch and Stacey Solomon had a bust-up live on-air earlier this year over working from home, and Denise hinted at tension between the pair in a recent interview

Denise Welch took a savage swipe at her Loose Women co-stars after an on-air fight with Stacey Solomon.

The women had a bust-up during an edition of the ITV daytime talk show in June, and while Denise dismissed rumours of a feud, she hinted at tensions during a chat on Olivia Attwood ’s podcast So Wrong It’s Right. The 66-year-old explained: “I’m always happy to have new blood on ( Loose Women ) because we do get bored of each other. But I’ve always been sceptical when younger people come in because, sometimes, they may have a great life story but they are either not prepared to talk about it yet, or are too worried about what the public are going to say.”

She then lifted the lid on the behind-the-scenes tension, and added: “So they’ll be in a meeting saying ‘I’m not going to talk about that,’ and it’s kind of like, ‘what are you gonna talk about then?’” Stacey joined the show in 2016, and is one of the youngest members of the panel, along with Katie Piper and Frankie Bridge, and Denise’s comments come after her explosive on-air fallout with Stacey earlier this year.

During the debate in June, Stacey, 35, defended people working flexible hours from home after the pandemic, but she clashed with Denise, who believed that the country was “grinding to a halt” as the staff had “disappeared”. Unimpressed, Stacey replied: “They don’t disappear because they’re working from home,” but Denise was insistent, and asked: “But, where are they Stace?”

The mum-of-five went on to explain that she thinks the pandemic proved a lot of the UK’s workforce could do an “adequate if not better job” from home, but Denise disagreed, and viewers were left uncomfortable with the tension between the two women. The following month, former actress Denise explained the fallout, and said it had been blown out of proportion. “We disagreed on something, it was about young people and work ethic and since Covid, have Gen-Z become a bit more lazy and entitled, it was one of those kind of Loose Women things,” she began.

    Image:
ITV)“Stacey said something about nurses and the NHS which provoked a great big reaction, and I actually agreed with her,” Denise added. The TV star was met with a fierce backlash over her anti-vaccine stance back in 2020, as well as her opposition to the lockdowns during the pandemic, and several of her Loose Women co-hosts have challenged her on her controversial views. Denise claimed to have had only a handful of disagreements with her fellow panellists during her 25 years on the show, and hinted that she doesn’t get along with some of the other hosts.

“In 25 years, there have obviously been a couple of people who aren’t as close as some of the others. Like in any show, there are some people you prefer, there are some panels I prefer to others. Just because of the dynamics of personalities,” she cryptically explained on an US podcast earlier this year.

  • Exclusive: Stacey Solomon ‘apprehensive’ as she enforces ‘ground rules’ for filming with kids

Exclusive: Stacey Solomon ‘apprehensive’ as she enforces ‘ground rules’ for filming with kids

Stacey Solomon is said to be ‘apprehensive’ about her new reality show, as she enforces ‘ground rules’ for filming with her six children, who are all expected to appear

Telly favourite Stacey Solomon is all set to expose her private life in unprecedented detail as she and her household gear up to star in a brand new real-life show that’s giving off some serious Kardashian vibes. With the cameras getting ready to roll at Pickle Cottage, it looks like this new BBC program titled Escape to Pickle Cottage could take the 35-year-old presenter and her family – including hubby Joe Swash, sons Zach, 16, Harry, 16, Leighton, 12, Rex, five, daughters Rose, two, and Belle, 20 months – on quite the tumultuous ride.

A source told OK!: “Although Stacey is very excited about the reality show with her family, she’s also quite apprehensive and nervous about it as she’ll really be putting herself out there. Yes, she shares a lot of her family and home life on Instagram but that is just little snippets. Having your own tv show is completely different and, unlike on socials, there will be a big camera crew filming their every day life. They will have to learn to live with cameras in their house and following them around – at the moment it’s just her or Joe filming on their phones.”

    Stacey Solomon and her family
Stacey and Joe have reportedly signed up to film with their kids

With her family already familiar with the spotlight – Stacey often shares updates on their life, from celebrating big birthdays to holiday escapades with her 6 million followers – it seemed like a match made in heaven.

Yet, as filming kicked off with a family trip to Port Lympne Safari Park in Kent, captured by a camera crew, Stacey is said to be anxious about the “intrusive nature” of a TV show, particularly with her kids set to feature prominently. And it seems some fans echo these worries, voicing their unease online.

One person posted: “I am so against monetising children who cannot consent to being filmed and whose young years are put out there for public consumption. their younger selves will be in the public domain forever, have the parents thought this through? “. Another shared: “It’s surprising how many people don’t understand the importance of protecting the children from the media.”

However, some other fans have leapt to her defence amid the criticism, with one saying: “She is just natural and is a good mother looking after her children,” while another hailed the programme as featuring: “two loving parents, nice siblings and extended family, lovely home and experiences.”

    Image:
    INSTAGRAM)
The source said the latest TV project will be “a lot more intrusive”, and Stacey has concerns about the impact it might on their family, especially their kids’ privacy. “Stacey is used to the odd bit of criticism on her Instagram but the comments are normally positive, so it’s quite a shock to see people slating her choice to do this TV show,” they said. “It really hurts when people say she’s cashing in on her kids and risking their safety by filming them. Every job she takes on is for them and she has weighed everything up.

“She’s never hidden them, and both her and Joe have been in the public eye for a long time so she feels they can protect the children from the pitfalls of fame as they grow up. She knows more people will recognise the children once they’re on TV but Stacey is prepared for that. She has set some ground rules with the crew to help protect the kids, like not filming them in their school uniform, or on play dates. Other reality TV stars have since said that filming has been hard on their children – and Stacey is adamant that won’t happen to them.”

    Stacey Solomon
In May, Stacey said her goal was to spend more time with her kids
    Image:

The star, who shot to fame on X Factor in 2009, confessed in May that her ultimate goal was to leave television behind to cherish time with her little ones. Stacey pointed out her preference for home-based projects, but it seems there are still ambitions afoot, as she’s all about setting clear limits.

The source added: “She sees it as a huge opportunity for them all, it will make her brand even bigger as a tv show opens up a whole new audience and it will help financial secure the kids’ future and that’s what she does it all for. The older kids won’t be in it as much as they’re not as keen and Stacey respects that.

“But this show will make her into an even bigger star and will open up so many more opportunities and she says the pros outweigh the cons. Plus the younger kids love being in front of the cameras and she can’t wait to show them off.”

This Morning’s Ben Shephard left blushing after Coleen Nolan strips naked live on air

Loose Women star Coleen Nolan wasn’t afraid to bare all as she took to the ITV daytime favourite wearing nothing but her birthday suit on the much loved programme

Loose Women’s Coleen Nolan was so “excited” about today’s show and guests on the programme that she ditched her clothes and went naked for the occasion.

Teasing what was to come on Monday’s episode (October 21), Ruth Langsford spoke to Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard on This Morning about what viewers could expect – including a star appearance from actress Emily Atack.

The Inbetweeners star is currently starring in Rivals on Disney +. Emily appears on the fan favourite wearing absolutely nothing. In Support of Emily, Coleen boldly went naked in the preview clip, leaving Ben in the ITV studio blushing.

Ruth kicked off announcing: “You might wonder as I said, why we are standing behind this hedge, well we are loving telly’s newest bonk-buster Rivals.”

She added: “Emily Atack is here to give us all the behind the scenes gossip and someone here is very excited.”

Coleen popped up with a cheeky grin, barring her naked shoulders as she asked: “Anyone for tennis Ben?” As she shot a tennis ball across the studio.

Hitting back, the Tipping Point host smacked the ball with his own tennis racket in the This Morning HQ declaring: “Never trust Coleen with balls. They can go everywhere”

Everyone burst into laughter as the Nolan’s hitmaker aired: “Don’t you know it.” Making sure Coleen didn’t suffer a red faced moment, Ben prompted: “Ladies your hedge has dropped,” as they quickly lifted it up again.

Confirming she was naked, Coleen quipped in response: “You don’t need to see these.” It isn’t Coleen’s first naked stint on-air after she’d previously taken part in Ashley Banjo’s The Real Full Monty, taking off her kit in the spirit of charity and raising awareness for Breast Cancer in support of her two sisters.

Sadly, Bernie lost her battle with the disease in 2013, but Coleen’s other sister Linda battles another day after being told earlier this year her cancer had now spread to her brain.

Back in September last year, Coleen also appeared on social media in the buff to promote her upcoming tour. She had been teasing that she had something to share with her fans and then finally revealed all – quite literally.

She also shared a poster for the show that detailed several different dates across the country and showed her completely starkers as she sat back in a giant teacup emblazoned with the word ‘naked.’

She announced: “Hi everybody, so I’ve got some really exciting news to share with you all! For the first time in my life I’m going on tour with my very own show! 16 dates across the UK in 2024!”

Coleen followed up with: “Please come and join us for an evening of music, life and laughter! Tickets go on sale at 9.00am.”

The ITV star divided fans with the post but one person she could rely on to have her back was son Shane Nolan. He quickly reshared his mum’s post chiming: “Here we go then, can’t wait to support @NolanColeen on tour.”

Exclusive: Ant McPartlin slams “passive aggressive” Alan Halsall after I’m a Celeb clash with Dean McCullough

Ant McPartlin has had his say on Alan Halsall’s clash with Dean McCullough, which is the first sign of tension in the camp after a week

TV star Ant McPartlin has accused Alan Halsall of being ‘passive aggressive’ in his clash with Dean McCullough in I’m a Celeb.

BBC Radio 1 presenter Dean had a heated exchange with the Coronation Street star in the programme over how the actor had handled waking him up.

Ant addressed the row on his and Dec’s Instagram Live. Dec said: “Can we talk about the first little bit of tension in the camp,” to which Ant replied: “What would you have done, would you have kicked off? Alan was kind of OK about it, but he had a little bit of passive aggressiveness back as well, didn’t he?”

But Ant added of Dean’s outburst: “I wouldn’t stand for any of that… I would be like ‘shut-up’.”

Dean had taken a nap but was later awoken by camp leader Alan as he needed to do his chore of collecting firewood alongside Loose Women panellist Jane Moore.

After a sleepy Dean hardly stirred, soap star Alan asked him: “You don’t fancy it? No?” Alan then went to help out Jane himself as camp rules state she was not allowed to do it by herself.

Rumble in the Jungle: Alan and Dean
Northern Irish presenter Dean followed afterwards and told him Alan could “go back now”.

The actor told him: “I was trying to wake you up as soft as I could,” to which Dean replied: “Listen to me. If you’re going to wake me up, you need to give me a minute, alright?

“It takes me a couple of minutes for my contact lenses to get back working again, all right?

“So you don’t need to turn around to me and say: ‘Do you not fancy it?’ OK? And then turn around and walk away.”

Dean then repeatedly asked Alan to “listen” to him, with the later explaining: “I didn’t say it how you think I meant it, but if you took it that way, then I apologise.”

The actor confirmed he was not trying to have a dig at the radio DJ, to which Dean said he understood but that he felt he “didn’t get a chance to respond”.

    Image:
ITV/REX/Shutterstock)Dean later said in the Bush Telegraph: “I opened my eyes and wee Tyrone from Coronation Street is like: ‘Come on, mate, you need to go down to the bottom of the creek.’

“He didn’t even give me a chance to say yes or no because he went: ‘You don’t fancy it? No?’ and ran. He was being a real camp leader.

“I was like: ‘Whoa, whoa, whoa don’t dig me out like that.’ And I had to say to him: ‘If you’re going to say: ‘Don’t fancy it?’ – give me a chance’.

“Because, of course, I fancy it. I want to help Jane. I went straight down and helped her.” Dean was later seen apologising to Jane before joining her in carrying the wood for the campfire.

In his own Bush Telegraph moment, Alan said: “It was a flippant comment, I’m sorry if you took it in the wrong way. Wasn’t actually meant like that, it was just a bit of a joke.

“If I was asleep and you woke me up, I won’t fancy it either.”

Katie Price’s astonishing tirade as she brands fan ‘ugly s***’ and fumes ‘go f*** yourself’

Katie Price was filming herself trying on clothes at home in a new social media video when she lost her cool with a fan

Katie Price has launched a shocking string of insults at a fan during a live social media stream.

Former I’m A Celeb star Katie, 46, was taking part in a TikTok live when she lost her cool with a follower. The star could be seen in her own home trying on clothes for the camera as social media comments collected on the screen.

One particularly nasty comment caught mum-of-four Katie’s eye, with the former glamour model saying: “Oh Linda’s called me a smelly sl*g.” She then lashed out so severely that someone in the background, thought to be an assistant, attempted to intervene.

Katie, who was with her boyfriend JJ Slater, raged: “Wow, shall we all go for Linda? Well Linda’s never met me but I am smelly. Not in a bad way, I smell amazing.”

She went on: “And sl*g? Cor, that’s a bit harsh. What’s your definition of a sl*g? Because that’s definitely something I’m not. Linda is vile. Who the hell is Linda? Linda you’re an ugly sl**. How about that?”

Katie then added: “Go f*** yourself, Linda,” before someone could be heard saying off camera: “Katie! Is it time for a break?”

Katie’s online outburst comes after she shared an emotional message her eldest son Harvey sent her in the build-up to Christmas.
Harvey, who suffers from Prader Willi Syndrome, blindness and autism, currently resides at a £350,000-a-year residential college. However, he regularly returns home to be with his mum. And he’s revealed he can’t wait to be home for Christmas and pulled on the heartstrings with a text Katie has since shared on Instagram.

Showing a screenshot of their conversation, Katie showed her followers his sweet message from the 22-year-old, which read: “Mummy I am miss you for a lot of cuddles, kisses on the lips and kisses on your full head in warm cosy bed because I am really need you a lot at Christmas. Please mummy to make Harvey happy this Christmas.”

The grab also showed Harvey sending Katie a snap of them kissing while leaving a note over the top. He wrote: “Merry Christmas” and also “Mummy” with a love heart.

Elsewhere, it was recently revealed that Katie plans to tie the knot with her MAFS star boyfriend, 32-year-old JJ. The star went public with her relationship with him last February, and sources have previously suggested that Katie plans to pop the question over Christmas.

A source recently told OK!: “It’s their first Christmas together as an official couple. Katie wants it to be really special and magical — to make a really big deal of it. She absolutely loves Christmas. It’s a really special time for her, especially with the kids. A proposal to JJ would be perfect for that, so she is really considering it.”

Chuck Woolery, known for hosting the “Wheel of Fortune” and other popular shows over the years, passed away on Saturday. The sad news was confirmed on X, formerly known as Twitter, by his friend and co-host on the podcast “Blunt Force Truth”, Dr. Mark Young.

He shared a tribute saying: “It is with a broken heart that I tell you that my dear brother @chuckwoolery has just passed away. Life will not be the same without him, RIP brother.”

Mark told TMZ that he was at Chuck’s home in Texas when his friend said he wasn’t feeling well and went to lie down. He said a short time later, Chuck came back to the room saying he was having trouble breathing.

Despite calling the emergency services, Chuck didn’t make it, his friend added. Chuck began his career as a singer before hosting popular shows including Wheel of Fortune, Love Connection, Scrabble and Lingo. He also worked as an actor and appeared in The Treasure of Jamaica Reef and Love, American Style.

In 1981, Chuck left Wheel of Fortune and Pat Sajak took over the job. He teamed up with Mark in 2014 for their podcast and became a full supporter of Donald Trump, while arguing that minorities don’t need civil rights and causing a firestorm by tweeting an anti-Semitic comment linking Soviet Communists to Judaism.

He was active online and often retweeted articles from Conservative Brief. In the early stages of the Covid-19 pandemic, Chuck initially accused medical professionals and Democrats of lying about the virus to try and hurt the economy and Trump’s chances to be re-elected to the White House.

After Mark shared the news on social media, many fans paid tribute to Chuck and expressed their sadness. One wrote: “I’ve watched your brother my entire life, in different shows. He always presented himself as a genuinely good man. I’m so very sorry for you, losing your brother. You’ll see him again.”

Another said: “I’m so sorry, Chuck was always my favorite game show host. Prayers and condolences to you and your family.” A third fan added: “Condolences. Chuck was amazing. It’s difficult to even refer to him in the past tense. God bless you. I’m sure Chuck is watching at His side.”

Someone else said: “Oh no! I’m so sorry! He will be missed. Such a wise and kind man. Praying for you and family and friends to have peace in your time of loss. RIP Chuck Woolery, legend! Earth’s loss, Heaven’s gain.”

Strictly Come Dancing’s Anton du Beke breaks down as couple score first 40 of the series

Just seven couples remain on Strictly Come Dancing, with the couples set to perform their own routines as well as take part in the samba-thon

Anton du Beke broke down in tears as Tasha Ghouri bagged the first 40 of the series.

Tasha and Aljaž Škorjanec danced their American Smooth to Someone You Loved by Lewis Capaldi, which earned high praise from the judges. The pair scored a perfect 40 out of 40, the first of the whole series so far.

Shirley said to Anton: “This is the first time I’ve seen you cry, and you were very emotional.” Anton then admitted: “It was beautiful. It just makes me go – this is why we dance. This is the point. People say why do you dance, and that’s why.

“We don’t dance for people to say we’re wonderful. We dance mostly for how it makes us feel. You’re extraordinary to watch. And Alijaz, I see you enjoying and I have the feeling myself when I dance … You want it go like that. Sometimes, it goes like that. This is what it’s all about. I watch you dance. I tried to find something I don’t like and I like it all.”

This week, the celebrities also participated in a Samba-thon, taking the dancefloor together to perform their best Samba moves and earn extra votes from the judges.

Comedian Chris spoke of how grateful he is for all the support from his fans and fellow comedians. Explaining what it means to have everyone’s support, he revealed: “I’ve had lots of lovely messages from people saying you’re doing really well and it’s nice that fellow comedians think that I’m coming across as myself, that means a lot.”

Gladiators star Montell added what the show means to her: “It’s brought out a side that’s been hidden for a long time. I’ve never been able to express it because I’ve never danced before. It’s more about discovering that side rather than creating a new one. It’s like I’m nurturing a side that was locked up in a box.”
