Loose Women has become embroiled in fresh new feud allegations over claims a former star felt she “wasn’t welcomed” and “doesn’t miss” the show after her sudden exit.

Carol McGiffin, 63, appeared on the ITV programme from 2000 until 2013, returning five years later in 2018 before quitting earlier this year. However, since leaving, she has frequenly expressed her unhappiness at her time on the show, claiming it had changed.

Opening up to Women’s Own magazine this week, she declared: “No, I don’t miss Loose Women at all. My pronouns are P and Off. It’s just very woke and I can’t deal with the wokeness. I know I wasn’t really welcomed.” But she added: “That’s not why I am not there. I am not there because of other stuff.”

While she said that she does miss her co-stars, she said that she “doesn’t miss being on TV”. Carol hadn’t appeared on the show for months before she finally broke her silence and confirmed that she wouldn’t be returning, explaining that she had been forced to “step away” from the show after allegedly being asked to sign a contract which was “totally unjust and unworkable for me”.

In an interview with TNT talk radio, Carol said: “I always look back at when I started working in television and radio as the good old days because they were much less policed, I suppose. Much less restricted and it was a freer place to be.

The outspoken star has appeared on the show on and off for the past 21 years and seen a revolving door of panelists during her tenure. Denise’s pal Carol McGiffin recently she’s glad she quit the show earlier this year, saying she ‘doesn’t miss it at all.’

Asked about how long she was planning to stick around, Denise said that if her role on the show became stressful she’d be “out like a shot”. Contrary to popular reports, Denise said the whole time she’s been on Loose Women she’s not argued once off-screen with any of her co-stars and needs it to stay that way.

Speaking in a candid new interview, the star said that if the environment became toxic, she would leave immediately, adding that at 65 she’s “too old” for drama.

“In the 21 years I’ve done this show, I have never, ever. ever had an actual argument with anybody on that show,” Denise revealed to Bella magazine.

“I can go hammer and tongs with them on set, but nothing afterwards, if it was a toxic environment, I wouldn’t work there. I don’t need to. I’m 65, I don’t need the stress.”

She said: “I’d be out like a shot if I felt anxiety about going into a job,” adding that the workplace is “very supportive” both on and off-screen.When asked if she would be quitting Loose Women in 2024, Denise firmly said “no”, joking that they can’t “get rid” of her that easily.

Carol McGiffin became the latest big name to quit the show this year, and has taken a series of shots at producers since her exit.

Speaking about her dramatic exit, Carol told Women’s Own magazine: :No, I don’t miss Loose Women at all. My pronouns are P and Off. It’s just very woke and I can’t deal with the wokeness. Mental health activist and campaigner Denise recently opened up about the show ‘snubbing’ her by never asking her to do the Halloween special.

Speaking on Loose Women on November 1, Denise’s co-star and pal Kaye Adams remarked: “It’s such a pleasure to be on that Halloween show,” Denise replied: “Yeah, it must be,” with Kaye firing back: “Shame they’ve never asked you!”

Justifying her being left out of the show again, Denise joked: “In 21 years, I’ve never done the Halloween show. I think it’s because I’m too pretty and, no matter how clever the team are, they could never make me look like a gargoyle as easily as they can with the others.”

More recently, Denise was forced to confirm she is alive and well, after a death hoax was started due to misinformation being spread from her Wikipedia page.

Reassuring fans she was in fact not dead, Denise took to X to clear up the confusion. She wrote: “I’m alive and well and about to watch the jungle”, before thanking the public for their concern.

Rylan Clarke had a hilarious response to the incident. On This Morning, Rylan, 35, spoke to Ruth Langsford to find out what was coming up on the day’s Loose Women. Ruth, 63, teased: “Find out why Denise went viral, yes viral, viral she’s been on the Internet and find out why at 12:30pm.”

Hilariously, Rylan quipped: “She’s alive!” as the camera then panned on Denise. He added: “Denise, we’re so happy you’re alive, darling!” with Denise sarcastically replying: “Hallelujah!” Rylan continued: “I thought we’d lost you, sweetheart!”

Ruth, 63, was quick to interject as she joked: “What, in that jacket? Even in that jacket?” to which Coleen, who was wearing a green blazer, said: “Well that’s why I’m wearing it! At least I don’t look like a Brillo pad!”

Ruth, who was wearing a silver sparkly outfit, saw the funny side as she exclaimed: “Touché, touché!” Janet Street-Porter then got involved, saying: “That’s because before we came on air, I said that Ruth’s skirt reminded me of the great new scourer I got for three-for-one at the supermarket!”

Standing up to show off her outfit in full, Ruth joked: “That’s what I have to put up with, people! Yes, it’s bullying in the workplace!” However, things then took a nicer turn as Janet, 76, added: “But honestly, Ruth, your outfit proves you can wear anything because it looks great!”

On Monday’s GMB, Coleen said: “It’s to raise awareness and you hope that’s what it is doing. But every year we get messages after the show to say, ‘while we were watching, I checked myself, I went to the doctors and it was or it wasn’t’. It just reminds people to check themselves all the time!”

Host, Ed Balls, then cheekily asked: “And are you always surprised by what you see?,” to which Coleen replied: “What do you mean? During the show? I mean, I try not to look!

“You know what, it’s funny because I’ve done it so much now but that moment in the show I still dread every single year. I still only do it, in that moment. I don’t do it any other time apart from the show.”

Ed then asked: “Do you look away?,” to which Coleen replied: “It’s not that I look away, I’ve just never looked! I’ve never actually looked! People go: ‘Oh, so you know, what’s Ashley like?’ and I go: ‘I don’t know, I’ve never looked! It’s just not a thing I do!’ I swear to God I don’t, I really really don’t.”

Loose Women star Andrea McLean revealed she only keeps in contact with two panellists from the programme.

The TV presenter left the ITV series in 2020 after 13 years as a co-panellist. She recently confessed she doesn’t watch the show as she’s too busy working during the day. There were many feud rumours about Andrea and some of her co-stars but she is still friends with a few of them.

Andrea still talks to Denise Welch and Brenda Edwards and sometimes misses the ‘daily interaction with everybody’ on the team. She said: “But in terms of do I miss it, I work for myself now, so I do a lot of stuff working from home and anybody who has left any organisation to strike out on their own, I do miss getting up and getting in and meeting the whole team and seeing everybody and hearing the gossip.

“I miss that kind of daily interaction with everybody.”

Speaking to The Sun, she added: “But I don’t miss it in terms of the way people would think I suppose because it was great and I left because I was ready to try something else and went off in a new and exciting direction.” She still follows her co-stars on Instagram and catches up with them ‘every now and again’.

There have been rumours of a feud between the stars for a while now. Back in 2017, Loose Women panellist Andrea McLean got married to her partner, life coach Nick Feeney. Although many of the panel were invited to celebrate her wedding with her, Carol McGiffin was noticeably absent from the proceedings.

Carol took to her Best Magazine column to highlight this, writing, “I’m ecstatic for them both, even though I wasn’t invited to the wedding. Andrea’s managed to squeeze in two weddings in less time than I’ve been engaged to Mark, which is a bit embarrassing, to say the least.”

Despite this, the pair showed there was no animosity between them when they discussed the situation before Andrea left the show in 2020. Andrea recently discussed her relationship with her Loose Women co-stars and said they aren’t necessarily in touch frequently due to work projects and schedules.

Discussing such friendships, she said: “I stay in contact with some of the Loose Women ladies, in the same way that I only get to talk to some when I was there – but not hugely”. Andrea – who now runs the self-help membership group This Girl Is On Fire – said she messages Brenda, Denise, Linda Robson, and Saira Khan.

Stacey Solomon has sparked speculation that she has quit Loose Women – just weeks after rejoining her co-stars following her maternity leave.

The mum of five, 34, made an appearance on the daytime TV show earlier this week, telling fans she only had “one more day” of work before the festive period. Her pals on the show then headed straight out to their Christmas bash – which was plastered all over social media, but eagle-eyed fans noticed that Stacey didn’t join them.

Other stars were clearly in good spirits including Brenda Edwards, Denise Welch, Christine Lampard, Linda Robson, Katie Piper and Judi Love. The lively gang were joined by Kaye Adams, Jane Moore and Katie Piper.

The only other panelist that was forced to pull out was Olivia Attwood, who recently joined the show, following a nasty-looking eye injury. Olivia said: “Was meant to be off to the Loose Women Christmas lunch, but my eye had other ideas” as she took a photo of her eye covered in bandages.

Other names that were absent were Coleen Nolan, Kelle Bryan, Frankie Bridge, Kelly Holmes and Nadia Sawalha. Stacey has only appeared on the ITV show a handful of times since going on maternity leave last year ahead of the birth of her fifth child Belle. Celebrating her daughter’s first Christmas, Stacey posted an image of Belle dressed in a Santa outfit and wrote: “Happy First Christmas Belle. It doesn’t seem real that this time last year we announced our pregnancy with Belle. Now look at her. It’s not easy being number 5 little Belle, it’s manic & you have to slot in.

Loose Women headed out for their annual boozy Christmas party on Wednesday for a night of festive frolics you would expect from the ITV stars.

Linda Robson and Denise Welch took to her Instagram account to share a snap of several of the ladies having fun together – with usual suspects Kaye Adams, Judi Love, Katie Piper and Charlene White at the forefront of the celebrations. Captioning her post, actress Linda wrote: “Great night at our @loosewomen Christmas party. What a wonderful team we have. Have a wonderful Christmas love nanny Linda xxxx.”

Former Coronation Street star Denise, meanwhile, shared several snaps of the night out, which saw the cast and crew members don party accessories and take part in a quiz. Judi later joined in the fun on social media, post a clip of the ladies dancing and singing to a karaoke version of Wham’s Last Christmas.

Thankfully, Kaye, Denise, Katie and Jane recovered in time to present Thursday lunch time’s show along with I’m A Celebrity star guest, Josie Gibson. Speaking during the broadcast, journalist and author Jane soon made an hilarious admission about the party antics, which saw Judi’s handbag inexplicably catch fire.

“The most exciting part of the night – there was a shriek down one end of the table – somebody went, ‘Judy, your handbags on fire!’” she said. With a mixture of gasps and laughter in the studio, Jane continued: “It was like an episode of EastEnders. She put her bag on the table and the strap was on fire! So yeah, that was the biggest drama of the night.”

Several show regulars including Janet Street Porter, Coleen Nolan, Ruth Langsford and Nadia Sawalha all appeared to absent, from the party, whilst another panelist unable to attend was Olivia Attwood, who is nursing an unfortunate eye injury.

The 32-year old former Love Islander took to her account in the day, revealing her left eye had been bandaged up. “Was meant to be off to @loosewomen Christmas lunch… but my eye had other ideas,” she wrote. Responding to Linda, meanwhile, Coleen expressed her regret at not being able to join in, writing: “Gutted I missed it.: “Looks like you all had a blast.” And Dame Kelly Holmes penned a similar response, adding: “Sad to have missed this xx hope you had a fab night.”

Denise Welch enjoyed some festive civility by reuniting with her ex-husband Tim Healy for Christmas.

The 65-year-old Loose Women star and the 71-year-old actor – who both starred on divisive ITV comedy show Benidorm – were married in 1988 and divorced in 2012. Together, the couple welcomed two sons – one of whom is 1975 frontman and former boyfriend of Taylor Swift, Matt Healy, 34.

Denise was previously married to actor David Easter, 64, from 1985 until 1988 and has been married to current husband, artist Lincoln Townley, 50, since 2013. And it seems the TV star gathered her men and sons together to enjoy Christmas together.

Taking to Instagram on Christmas Day, Denise shared a snap of herself flanked by her sons and joined by both Lincoln and Tim at the dinner table. Everyone was wearing festive cracker hats and smiling for the camera and the image itself was captured on Christmas Eve.

Sharing the image online, Denise wrote: “The joy of having our Christmas Eve dinner cooked for us by Chef Pete and Amy from @pete__cooks . I worked with Pete’s mum Vanessa for a charity for many years and I remember when Pete was starting his private chef business. It is now several years later and it’s thriving!!! They did a beautiful meal of gnocchi canopies, turkey, rib of beef then pavlova while we chilled and then cleared everything up!!! Total bliss for me!!”

She added: “A perfect night with family and tmrw the Townleys, Welch’s and Healys get together en masse!!! Merry Christmas.”

Fans and followers were warmed to see the ITV star looking happy with her loved ones, with one commenting “This is so wholesome Aww.” Another person posted: “So much love for how close you are with your ex husband. While a further fan wrote: “Love so much that you and Dad are there together. It’s just lovely. Merry Christmas.” Tim played Lesley ‘Les’ Conroy on Benidorm from 2009 until 2018 – and Denise herself popped up in a season four episode playing a character named ‘Scary’ Mary.

Benidorm ran for 10 seasons over more than 10 years – with 74 episodes existing so far. Back in October, the show creator, Derren Litten, hinted that more episodes of the comedy could be created – saying he has enough material in his ming to double the number of existing episodes.

Birds of a Feather stars have an update on news of a reunion on ITV.

Amid bitter fallout claims, the sitcom stars have news for followers of the popular programme originally aired on the BBC back in the 1980s and 90s. Linda Robson and Pauline Quirke, who played Tracey Stubbs and Sharon Theodopolopodous starred in 12 series together.

The ITV personality has heavily teased at some exciting news for fans of Birds of a Feather. Lesley Joseph, who played Dorien Green, could well be involved in an upcoming double act. “I’m hoping to do a series with Lesley,” Linda told Woman Magazine.

“It is sort of in the pipeline now. We did Race Across Yorkshire together and the BBC were very pleased with how we interacted, so they’re trying to get something together for us, which would be really nice.” Asked for more information, she added: “A reality series doing a bucket list, or things to do before we die.”

The good news comes after Linda was forced to hit back at rumours that she died, and instead proved to fans she’s alive and kicking. Responding to the fake death hoax, the 65-year-old actress joked with fans after she shared an Instagram video of her acting as if she was dead and coming back to life, alongside creepy music.

Showing her sense of humour, the actress has joked with fans as she captioned the clip “Woke up to lots of messages and calls, apparently there has been a rumour I had passed away going around. You won’t get rid of me that easy!”

Jumping into the comments, fans have shared in the joke as one commented: “Glad it’s just a rumour!” Another added: “Glad to see you’re still alive, kicking, being brilliant and having fun! Have a great day Linda!” A third fan shared: “Aww nanny linda no , bless ya glad your all well hun xx”.

However some fans were outraged at the rumours, as one slammed the hoax: “Why do people start this rumours. disgusting.” Another agreed as they wrote: “What a disgusting rumour to start.” A third commented: “OMG that’s awful Linda, so people are so odd, nothing better to do with their time. Only last month, Linda split from her husband Mark Dunford after 33 years of marriage. Linda and Mark first met when they were teens but didn’t begin dating until years later. They tied the knot in 1990 and the former couple went on to welcome two children together; Roberta, 27, and Louis, 31.

Linda confirmed to Woman magazine she is single last month. She said of her ex-husband Mark: “He’s a really good dad and we had some good years, but enough is enough. I’m not interested [in dating] honestly. I can’t be a***d with all that.”

Royal commentator Neil Sean has made claims that both Meghan and Prince Harry “don’t understand why” they have been subjected to different rules to other members of the Royal Family despite stepping away from their official duties nearly four years ago. The book is rumoured to be part of the four-book deal she and Harry signed with publishers Penguin Random House. The same deal saw Harry release his hard-hitting memoir Spare at the start of 2023. The couple are also expected to release a ‘wellness’ offering.

A Hollywood agent told The Mail on Sunday: “I would find it surprising if Meghan didn’t publish her own story, to be honest. Spare is clearly Prince Harry’s chance to tell his, but hers is equally compelling. I mean, how many actresses end up marrying a Prince? The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have done too much damage to ever hope for a reunion with their respective families according to Royal commentator Michael Cole. The expert discussed if there is any scope for an apology to reunite either the Royal or Markle families.

Michael revealed that he believes the only hope for building bridges could come if they both of the Sussexes apologised to their relatives for any perceived wrongdoing on their part. He said: “It is interesting to note that Meghan is not on speaking terms with any of her family apart from her mother and a niece. He concluded: “It is difficult to see how those relationships are going to be mended without some apologies on the part of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. They are showing no signs of that, frankly, it is at rock bottom.”

The news comes after another Royal expert revealed that Meghan had been hoping for a stand-off with her father-in-law King Charles over the rules she and Harry have had to adhere to title-holding as members of the Royal family.

Neil Sean has made claims that both Meghan and Harry “don’t understand why” they have been subjected to different rules to other members of the Royal Family despite stepping away from their official duties nearly four years ago. The couple’s bid to also become financially independent from the Royals saw them sign multimillion-dollar contracts with Netflix and Spotify.

But now according to Neil, Meghan has questions she wants the King to answer and has allegedly even tried to arrange a meeting with him to discuss key issues she has found prominent since she joined the family. Speaking on his YouTube channel he said: ” Meghan Markle wants some answers from His Majesty the King. She tried to set up a meeting with him, she sent him a letter and wanted a one to one to explain exactly the problems she’s encountered ever since becoming a member of the British monarchy.”

He continued: “The thing that really riles Meghan is that Fergie pops up on things like the ITV daytime show This Morning, Loose Women and billing herself as the Duchess of York, selling books and possibly doing adverts all under the Royal Family. Meghan and Harry seemingly don’t understand why it’s a different rule for her.”
