Meghan Markle has revealed the one thing her and Prince Harry’s children do that is very British. The former Suits actress has children Archie and Lillibet, who have spent most of their lives in the United States.

Harry and Meghan moved from the UK to the United States before settling in Montecito, California – which they now call their home – and whilst their children are rarely pictured, they are even more rarely heard. Meghan had previously revealed that her kids have an American accent, but now she has shared the one British thing they do do.

Meghan appeared on the new episode of Jamie Kern Lima’s podcast, where she was handed a letter from her husband Prince Harry and their children Archie and Lillibet. Immediately she asked if it had been in the press, to which Jamie replied and revealed that no one else had seen it before and asked if Meghan would like to read the letter aloud, if she was comfortable doing so.

She then read the brief letter out, which said: “From Archie and Lili via Papa. We love your cooking, we love your pancakes, and we love, love, love your hugs. You’re the best mummy and we love you.”

Reacting to it, Meghan called the message “so sweet” and said that her kids were “the greatest”. She also noted one thing that said: “I also love that it’s ‘mummy’, which is very British, instead of ‘mommy.'”

Meghan has previously discussed her children’s accents and how they speak like their father, despite growing up in California.

“Oh, some of the words that they still say with a British accent, so they’ll say z-e-b-r-a and what else do they say? They have these little moments where it comes out and because they have very American accents, but they say words that are just like him and I think it’s adorable,” she said of her favourite thing about her children – and how they’re like their dad.

Meghan also revealed she has been sending secret letters and saving pictures for her children to give to them when they’re older. She got the idea from a mum friend, who had been sending their children secret emails.

“I thought it was such a great time capsule to create for them and so I created for the kids these email addresses…that I will give them at some point. Before I go to bed, every night, I email them,” she said.

“Maybe when they’re 16, maybe when they’re 18, they will feel ‘she has loved us so much,” Meghan then added as she got emotional and wiped away her tears She insisted her love language for her kids wasn’t about “grandeur” but was more about making sure they see that she sees them and is actively nurturing them.
