Britain’s Got Talent fans have been left fuming with the public vote after tonight’s chaotic live semi-final which saw The Blackouts and Vinnie McKee secure their places in the final.

In a show first, The Blackouts were sent straight through to the final as chosen judge Amanda Holden was given the power to press the Golden Buzzer. Singer Vinnie McKee then secured the second place in the final after receiving the most public votes, beating runner up Linda Mudzenda.

However, fans were left fuming with the results – as they were left fuming that singer Linda had been kicked out of the competition.

Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, one scathing fan branded the show a “fix” as they wrote: “No way #BGT Was that a public vote!! Mediocre pub singer wins ! No way total fix.” As another disappointed fan wrote: That’s a fix. She was better than him. #BGT”.

“Linda robbed!” exclaimed a third, while a fourth disappointed viewer commented: “Linda was the FAR superior singer tonight.”

However, other fans were quick to disagree, as one wrote: “*Sigh* No, it’s NOT a fix. Every time something doesn’t go someone’s way, it ‘must’ be a fix.” Another optimistic fan said: “Guys chill out Linda will get the wildcard #bgt”.

Linda and Vinnie both received a Golden Buzzer during their auditions, as they wowed the judges and audiences. Vinnie received the first Golden Buzzer of the series from Simon Cowell, whereas it was Alesha Dixon who used her buzzer on Linda.

The duo took part in a chaotic first live semi-final tonight, which had not one, but two major set backs. Chaos struck during what was meant to be the second act of the night as eight-year-old Teddy Magic wasn’t ready to appear on stage.

“Now, Teddy isn’t quite ready backstage yet…so we’re just going to chat to you judges-” while Dec explained: “We’re going to have a little change of plan.” His double act interrupted: “Just while he gets himself ready and composed backstage.”

Later on in the show, it was announced that Teddy wouldn’t be performing tonight, but would instead be performing later in the series.

However, it wasn’t the only disaster that struck. Before their show stopping performance, which gained them a Golden Buzzer straight to the final, The Blackouts were delayed in their start time as the show was facing technical difficulties.

“Another stop in the show due to technical difficulties now,” tweeted one annoyed fan, while another said: “Too many technical issues, Simon looks furious #BGT”.
