I had my feet read and it made me reflect on my life.
It occurred to me about halfway into my trip to Ormskirk that I might, in fact, have to show my feet to a stranger. Before anybody gets any ideas, I was making the journey to meet TV’s celebrity foot reader Jane Sheehan.
If you’re a fan of Loose Women, you may remember when Jane read the feet of the presenters, including Stacey Solomon and Kaye Adams. But that doesn’t even begin to scratch the surface of Jane’s career.
Jane has also featured on BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing spin-off show It Takes Two. Her book, Let’s Read Our Feet, is a number one best seller on Amazon.

As the UK’s leading foot reader, or, as Jane put it, with a chuckle, “one of the top five in the world, I just don’t know what out of five,” she has been teaching her skills to reflexologists and other therapists for more than 20 years.
For those of you that don’t know, foot reading is a skill adopted by holistic therapists which they say helps them work with clients at a new level of understanding. Foot reading is said to reveal personality strengths and weaknesses, and highlights hidden potential and undervalued talents.
Upon arriving at the foot clinic, I was eager to know more about how feet are read. Luckily, Jane was really friendly and happy to explain more. She made it clear that language is key in foot reading – so you communicate properly with the person whose feet you’re reading.

At first, I thought I’d just show Jane photos of my feet. But after Jane explained foot reading details, plus a good old chin wag and being offered a cuppa, I decided to get the full experience. It wasn’t surprising when Jane noticed that I’m sensitive and insecure, as well as finding handling many tasks simultaneously quite hard.
You might remember me mentioning before, I got diagnosed with ADHD in 2023. Many insights Jane came up with linked back to this, I mused, and she could see from my expression she was spot on.
Getting your feet looked at by someone might seem a bit odd, but Jane made me feel so comfortable. She told me that I am a person who loves deeply, but worries too much.

Having my feet read was an amazing experience. After Jane finished studying my feet, she also did a little bit of tarot card reading for me. A beautiful card with a fairy told me to “be honest with myself.”
I really felt differently after having my foot reading. Jane was very nice and professional, and some of the things she said really struck a chord with me. It surprised me how much a foot reading could make me think about my life. I highly recommend giving it a go.
If you want to try this mind-blowing foot reading for yourself, you can join Jane’s workshop in Liverpool from February 3 to February 4. You can buy tickets on www.footreading.com.
