Prince Harry and Meghan Markle looking to split their time

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, are reportedly exploring a lifestyle that bridges the Atlantic. The couple, known for their high-profile decisions, is considering splitting their time between the United Kingdom and the United States.

The Split: Balancing Two Worlds

According to sources close to the couple, Harry and Meghan are contemplating dividing their time between the UK and their current home in California. The idea is to maintain a 50/50 balance, allowing them to stay connected to both their British and American roots.

Former royal butler Grant Harrold suggests that this move could signal a desire to reconnect with Harry’s estranged family. The couple’s decision to step back from royal duties in 2020 (dubbed “Megxit”) caused intense controversy, and their subsequent interviews and memoirs added fuel to the fire.

Since relinquishing Frogmore Cottage, the Sussexes have lacked a permanent London residence. Their potential acquisition of a UK home would provide a foothold for their transatlantic lifestyle.

While the Sussexes are reportedly looking to add a UK property to their already-impressive real estate portfolio — which currently boasts a sprawling $14 million California mansion — Harrold notes that he doesn’t see the “Suits” alum moving back to London on a permanent basis.

“I can believe that Harry would like to be back here, he loves the UK. He had an amazing upbringing here, he loved living here and I remember that.”

Meghan’s Perspective

Meghan, a California native, is unlikely to permanently relocate to the UK. Her American identity remains a significant part of her life.

“I don’t see Meghan wanting to be in the UK permanently — I think that was the whole idea of why they went out to the States in the first place,” Harrold said.

While Harry is committed to maintaining his dual heritage, Meghan’s focus is on their family and their philanthropic endeavors. The couple’s Archewell Foundation continues to make an impact on both sides of the Atlantic.
