A royal photographer who attended Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding in 2018 has said that it was “miserable” and the “worst event” he had ever been to.

Arthur Edwards, a famous British photographer known for his work with The Sun newspaper, specialises in pictures of the British Royal Family. Wherever the Royals travelled, so did Arthur, with him known for having toured with the Royal Family on the Queen’s tour of Australia and New Zealand, and Price Harry’s gap-year trip to Africa.

And now the photographer, who is an expert on the monarchy, has spoken out about Harry and Meghan’s wedding day and what he really thought of it.

“I hated the day. The day was a miserable day,” Mr Edwards said while speaking on The Sun’s YouTube channel in an exclusive chat. He went on: “I can tell you now, it was the worst royal wedding I ever did.”

He noted how Harry was “determined” to keep the press away from his big day “as much as possible”. Mr Edwards spoke of the long lenses that were needed to capture snaps, and how when Harry and Meghan went by in their carriage, they turned away from him so he couldn’t get a good shot, leaving him describing the day as a “disaster”.

Mr Edwards then alluded to how he and the British press were made to feel unwelcome on the day of the royal wedding. He added: “In many ways, they were badly treated.”

Prince Harry, Meghan's wedding branded 'worst royal event' by guest

Reacting to the video, shared by The Sun on X after releasing the new snippets from their latest interview with the expert, one person penned: “Edwards tried to be as gracious as possible about the couple right after Megxit. At this point, he has clearly just had enough. Saw him on a panel discussion about RF weddings awhile back, & he said basically what he says here. H&M antics started long before the world knew it.”

A second person added: “The guests all looked miserable at Harry and Meghan’s wedding, it was truly boring.” While a third penned: “This miserable man. He really thinks Harry and he were friends.”
