Loose Women star Denise Welch has made a bombshell allegation about a major member of the Royal Family, as she and her co-stars discussed the upcoming release of Amazon Prime’s A Very Royal Scandal
Denise Welch, a panellist on Loose Women, dropped a sensational claim about a high-profile member of the Royal Family during an episode of the ITV programme.
The discussion centred around the upcoming Amazon Prime drama ‘A Very Royal Scandal’, which delves into Prince Andrew’s notorious BBC Newsnight interview concerning his connections with Jeffrey Epstein. With Michael Sheen portraying the prince, anticipation is high for the show’s success on the streaming platform.
Denise was eager to recount her own interaction with Prince Andrew, describing him as a “narcissist” and alleging he made “disrespectful about Princess Diana” remarks about Princess Diana. Her fellow panellist Linda Robson echoed this sentiment, labelling the prince “arrogant” based on her own experience.
The panel also touched upon the speculated “watch party” that Prince Andrew is said to be organising for the release of the miniseries, expressing disbelief at the idea of him inviting friends over to view the controversial portrayal.
Denise commented: “We have heard rumour that Prince Andrew is having a viewing party with his pals. Now you would think, ‘Why would you want to be seen going through that?’ But in my personal experience of the odd time I’ve met him, he is a narcissist,” reports the Mirror.

She added with incredulity: “So it wouldn’t surprise me at all if he was going to have his friends round and celebrate what was an absolute disaster!”
Linda Robson shared her unvarnished opinion: “I’ve met him a couple of times at events that I’ve been to, and he comes across as quite an arrogant man. I don’t know if you remember he was walking around Buckingham Palace grounds and two policemen stopped him, and he was quite rude to them.”
“He said, ‘Don’t you know who I am?’ So I think he’s let the Royals down, he really really has. So I won’t be watching.”
In upcoming screen news, Ruth Wilson is set to portray BBC journalist Emily Maitlis in a drama opposite Michael Sheen. This follows the documentary Andrew: The Problem Prince, delving into the events surrounding the controversial 2019 interview, which aired last year.
Netflix previously depicted the story in its film Scoop, where Rufus Sewell took on the role of Prince Andrew and Gillian Anderson became Emily Maitlis, with Billie Piper also featuring in the cast.
As reported by The Independent, A Very Royal Scandal takes significant creative liberties one vivid scene depicts Prince Andrew at a shooting party where Sarah Ferguson’s character, played by Claire Rushbrook, pointedly questions him about his guilt.
