Prince Harry Dancing in Public Caught on Camera

Prince Harry’s celebratory dance moves have gone viral on social media after the royal made a surprise visit to a hockey game in Canada with Meghan Markle on Monday.

The duke and duchess were photographed at the Rogers Arena in Vancouver on November 20, watching as the Vancouver Canucks swept their way to victory over the San Jose Sharks team 3-1.

Harry presented the first puck of the game in an opening ceremony which echoed his grandmother Queen Elizabeth II, who threw in a ceremonial puck at a Vancouver Canucks game in the same arena during a visit to Canada back in 2002.

In a clip posted to the team’s official social media channels, game footage showing Harry and Meghan in the stadium stands celebrating a point score has gone viral, with the prince shown spontaneously breaking out into a dance.

Captioned “Two points and two new #Canucks fans tonight!” the clip has been viewed over 100,000 times on X (formerly Twitter), with a number of commenters praising the royal couple.

“Welcome to Canucks nation,” posted one fan, with another writing: “I’m obsessed they’re so cute.”

The couple’s visit to the game was tied with Harry’s Invictus Games veterans sports tournament which will be hosted in Vancouver and Whistler in 2025.

The games will be the first in the tournament’s decade-long history to include winter sports events.

In a post to the 2025 Invictus Games social media channels on Monday, the organization said it was “honored” to host Harry and other senior members of the Invictus Games Foundation to a pre-games planning visit.

“We are honoured to host senior members of the Invictus Games Foundation including Prince Harry, The Duke of Sussex in Vancouver and Whistler this week to visit venues as we focus on delivering the first-ever winter sports program at the Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025,” it said.

Monday’s was not the first hockey game attended by Harry.

The prince launched the 2017 Invictus Games that were held in Toronto by throwing in the puck at an adapted sledge-hockey game which was also attended by Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

The 2017 games marked a significant milestone in Harry and Meghan’s relationship. They had been dating for a year when they attended their first public event as a couple at a wheelchair tennis match during the games. Meghan was living in Toronto at the time filming her Suits TV show.

Meghan has also been photographed attending hockey matches in the past.

In 2013, the then-actress was spotted at a New Jersey Devils vs. New York Rangers game at Madison Square Garden with a friend.

Meghan and harry have visited Canada on a number of occasions since their marriage in 2018.

In 2019 and 2020, the couple spent an extended period of time in the country while they managed their turbulent split from the monarchy, before finally settling in California.

Canada is one of the 15 Commonwealth realms of which Harry’s father, King Charles III, is monarch.
