Good Morning Britain presenter Richard Madeley didn’t hold back when he spoke to guest Olly Murs on the ITV show as the star made a swipe at the singer ahead of his appearance on BBC’s Who Do You Think You Are?
On Thursday’s Good Morning Britain, Richard Madeley playfully expressed his outrage at guest Olly Murs’ successes in life.
The ITV host was joined by Kate Garraway and together they welcomed the former X Factor sensation as he discussed his appearance on BBC’s Who Do You Think You Are?
A delightful montage of Olly’s chart-topping hits played, after which Kate teased him using his track Troublemaker, hinting that fatherhood now called for a more mature approach.Olly shared his anticipation about showing his daughter the breadth of his career, as family snapshots appeared on screen.
Looking at the images, Richard quipped: “Look at you! You’ve got a beautiful baby, you’ve got a beautiful wife. You look great, you’ve got a fantastic career, you’ve got a great back catalogue. You make me sick!”

His comments made Olly burst into laughter, as he accepted the compliment. In jest, Richard clarified: “What I mean is, you must feel blessed sometimes.”
Olly, who is 40 years old, acknowledged his fortunate circumstances, reflecting on the significant personal and professional milestones he’s reached over the last couple of years.
He tied the knot with Amelia Tank in 2023, and the couple was thrilled to welcome their daughter Madison this April, reports the Mirror. Olly also celebrated a notable anniversary, marking 15 years since his rise to fame.

Richard expressed his astonishment during the interview, saying: “It’s not 15?! I thought that was a misprint in our notes.”
Olly agreed on how swiftly time has passed, responding: “It has been an amazing time. I’m super happy, life’s good at the moment.”
Kate praised Olly for his dedication to his career and his boundless energy, commenting: “Tonight we see that actually, that spirit goes right back through the genes.”
Olly shared an intriguing discovery from his episode of Who Do You Think You Are? as he revealed: “I found out that Veronica, my great grandmother was a trapeze artist, a full-time trapeze artist. In that clip, she was five months pregnant with my grandad.”

There was me thinking that I was the only Murs that had their name in lights and Murs was already a thing!”
