Royal children are in such a unique position. They want for nothing — whether it’s nice clothing and toys, a first-rate education, gobs of money — but they also lose a lot of their childhood by virture of being in the public eye. Who among us had to practice waving to hordes of photographers or was expected to represent a centuries-old institution when we were under the age of 6? Fortunately, Prince William and Kate Middleton’s kids aren’t alone in their strange world. The Cambridge siblings can share the royal child burden with one another.
Right now they may not totally understand their world or how they fit into the monarchy (although George certainly might, as future king), but they do know they have to be there for one another. They’re already so close and caring. From playtime fun to doing charity work together, George, Charlotte, and Louis are the sweetest siblings around.
Family Playtime
The Cambridges are quite an active family, as this video shows them exploring the beach, running in the woods, hiking, roasting marshmallows, and more. It’s the first time we’ve really gotten to see them all interact with one another outside of formal royal events, and catch a glimpse of their more casual side. It’s like getting to see a real day in their lives.
Red Carpet Royals
Little Louis got to wear pants to this special occasion, instead of the traditional shorts for young British boys. He and his siblings attended a Christmas pantomime performance together in December 2020, and it was crazy to see how old they are all getting. They’re growing up right before our eyes!
Louis’ First Trooping
Splash News
The kids all wore matching blue for Louis’ first Trooping the Colour. He seemed to have a great time at the event, waving to people and looking at all the parade displays. George and Charlotte were seasoned pros at Troopings by this point, having already attended several, but it seems like the kind of thing that would never get boring.
All the Grandkids
This isn’t just a sweet sibling moment, it’s a sweet cousin moment. All the royal grandkids posed with Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip at Balmoral in 2018. But perhaps the best thing about this photo is Charlotte holding little brother Louis’ hand. We can tell already that they’re going to be so close as they grow up.
Family Christmas Card
Instead of taking the photo for the family’s 2020 Christmas card, Kate hopped in front of the camera with the rest of the Cambridges. It’s always nice to see the whole group together like this, and in casual clothes too. Louis is the real star of the show here, with his big, joyful smile. What a little scene stealer — we love it!
Say Cheese
You can tell that the kids must have been eating something moments before this picture was snapped by Kate, because they’re all smiling like their mouths are full. Perhaps they had a backyard barbecue or something, and their mom just couldn’t resist taking what would become their 2019 Christmas card (and capturing the adorable moment for posterity).
Question Time
Last fall, the kids each got a chance to ask famed natural historian David Attenborough a question about wildlife. It was so cute to hear them all speak. George asked what animal David thought could be extinct next, Charlotte queried him about spiders (apparently she’s obsessed with them), and little Louis asked, “What amimal do you like?” So precious.
Wrestling Dad
The Cambridges posted this photo for William’s birthday last year. It shows him in true dad mode, wrestling with his kiddos in the yard. We can practically hear the giggles through the screen; they look like they’re having so much fun. We just know that William is the best father.
Giving Back
Although the Cambridge siblings are usually having a lot of fun together, they also do serious work together too. Last year, George and Charlotte teamed up with William to deliver food to those in need. They’re already training to be future working royals, and like William and Harry, they get to do it side by side.
Cutest Clappers
George, Charlotte, and Louis came together to clap for essential workers early last year when things were starting to get bad in the UK and the world. George and Charlotte were crushing it as always, and Louis put up a mighty effort to clap along. We love how he kept looking at his brother and sister to make sure he was doing it right. Yes, yes you were, Louis.
