Meghan Markle’s claim that the Royal Family confiscated her passport has raised eyebrows, especially amid reports she took 13 holidays during her time with them.

Meghan Markle’s passport claims during her and Prince Harry’s interview with Oprah Winfrey may not have been totally accurate.

Meghan Markle reportedly took at least 13 foreign holidays – despite telling US chat show veteran Oprah Winfrey that her passport was taken away when she became a member of the Royal Family.

The Firm was left red-faced and alarmed after the landmark televised interview between Prince Harry, Meghan and Oprah, in March 2021.

This came around a year after the couple relocated to California and stepped back from their roles as senior working royals.

Meghan claimed in the tell-all chat with Oprah that after joining the royals, her passport was taken from her and was not given back until she was leaving for the California.

She said during the interview: “You couldn’t just go. You couldn’t. I mean, you have to understand, as well, when I joined that family, that was the last time, until we came here, that I saw my passport, my driver’s licence, my keys.

“All that gets turned over. I didn’t see any of that anymore.”

According to The Sun, royal sources claimed her passport was kept secure to make sure it did not fall into the wrong hands. But, it would still have been used by her for her holidays.
