Meghan Markle reportedly upset that Kate Middleton ‘got away with’ mistreatment

Meghan Markle is reportedly upset that her sister-in-law, Kate Middleton, still hasn’t apologized for the way the Duchess of Sussex was treated when she was a working member of the royal family.

The “Suits” alum feels Middleton and her husband, Prince William, have “never been held accountable” for their actions, a source told Closer magazine (via the Mirror), adding that the pair “never apologized and have seemingly got away with it.”

The source added that Markle was “convinced” people would sympathize with her following the release of her and husband Prince Harry’s Netflix documentary, “Harry & Meghan.”

“That hasn’t happened,” the source claimed. “This isn’t how she envisioned things would turn out, but Meghan knows the truth and will tell anyone who will listen that Kate had an edge to her.”

The two women have had a frosty relationship over the years.

They had an explosive argument leading up to Markle and Harry’s 2018 wedding over Princess Charlotte’s bridesmaid dress.

The Duchess of Sussex opened up about the tiff in the couple’s bombshell sit-down with Oprah Winfrey in March 2021, revealing that it was Middleton, 41, who made Markle, also 41, cry and not the other way around as had been previously reported.

“I don’t say that to be disparaging to anyone,” Markle said, “because it was a really hard week of the wedding, and she was upset about something, but she owned it, and she apologized, and she brought me flowers and a note apologizing.”

The two had a nasty spat over Princess Charlotte’s bridesmaid dress that left Markle in tears.

She added: “It made me cry and it really hurt my feelings, and I thought in the context of everything else that was going on in those days leading to the wedding that it didn’t make sense to not be just doing what everyone else was doing, which was try to be supportive, knowing what was going on with my dad and whatnot.

“There wasn’t a confrontation, and I actually think it’s, I don’t think it’s fair to her to get into the details of that because she apologized and I’ve forgiven her.”

Harry went into further detail about the dust-up in his memoir, “Spare,” alleging that Middleton demanded all of the bridesmaids’ dresses be remade just four days before the wedding because she was unhappy with the way the dress looked on Charlotte.

The Duke of Sussex wrote that when Markle urged Middleton to visit her tailor for alterations, Middleton initially refused.

While the Princess of Wales eventually agreed to visit the tailor with Charlotte, Harry wrote, he later discovered Markle in a flood of tears “on the floor” following the altercation. The following day, he continued, Middleton apologized and brought over flowers and a card.

Harry listed other slights including Middleton being petty over a lip gloss that Markle asked to borrow.

He also wrote that Markle was reprimanded for making an innocuous comment about Middleton’s “baby brain” ahead of their nuptials. (Middleton had recently given birth to her third child, Prince Louis.)

Page Six previously reported that Middleton is indeed much more steely and savvy than her benign public image.

“Courtiers” author Valentine Low told us that Middleton is acutely aware that “she’s one day going to be queen” and “thinks very carefully about the long-term security and strength and stability of the royal family as an institution.”
