Meghan Markle and Prince Harry slammed over new Netflix show Polo: ‘Not relatable’

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s new Netflix docuseries Polo has been slammed as being out of touch and “not relatable” to audiences. The show gives “unprecedented access to the world of professional polo”, with royal commentator Helena Chard telling GB News that the regular Joe isn’t going to be able to relate to the sport, which is usually played by the wealthy.

“There’s been no excitement in the run-up to the show, and it’s sort of been enshrouded in black smoke,” she said. “Is there mass appeal? I don’t think so. Fans care more about royal drama than this.”This is elite and it’s about elite, global players. It’s about grit to glamour. I really don’t think people relate to this.”

Speaking of the sport, she added, “It’s not that exciting. It’s a lavish lifestyle that people, the general person, won’t be used to.”

Interestingly, Meghan and Harry only appear briefly in the show when the Duke of Sussex plays a charity match in Florida to benefit Sentebale.

Fans react to Harry and Meghan’s show Polo

Fans have shared very mixed reactions on social media about the show, with one user calling it “possibly the worst show on Netflix”.

“Polo, the new Netflix series from Harry and Meghan is as bad and forgettable as everything they do,” another said.

“I mean who actually thought, ‘Hmmm let’s do a show about a sport that is played by very few people… what are they paying them for?” a third added.

“I’m in middle America, polo is not relatable,” someone else said.”Is Polo relatable to anyone on here? No? Shocking,” another added.

However, many others loved the show, with one fan saying, “I have finished watching all 5 episodes and I was hooked. The US Open Final was so intense I was on the edge of my seat! I watched [because] I love Harry & Meghan but now I appreciate POLO! Hope there will be a 2nd season!”

“I am watching it right now, and it is incredible,” another said. “The dynamics between the players is thrilling.”

“I binged watched it,” a third wrote. “It was excellent.”
