Gabriel Macht Mocks Meghan Markle’s Suits Character: ‘It Wasn’t That Significant’

Gabriel Macht, the charismatic star of *Suits*, recently made waves with his candid comments about Meghan Markle, his former co-star, during a promotional interview for the upcoming *Suits* spin-off.

The interviewer, inevitably, asked about Meghan—a question that seems to follow every *Suits* cast member like a shadow. Macht’s response, a polite but telling brush-off, has left many talking. There were no explosive revelations or controversial claims, just a subtle acknowledgment that Meghan Markle’s role on *Suits* might have been overhyped.Macht, best known for portraying the iconic Harvey Specter, was promoting the *Suits* spin-off, and as expected, the interviewer couldn’t resist slipping in a question about Meghan.

After all, no *Suits* interview is complete without a mention of her, even though her screen time on the show was minimal. When asked about her, Macht’s response was both polite and revealing. He said, “I didn’t have much to do with her on the show.” In other words, Meghan’s role was so secondary that Macht barely even noticed her.

Why wouldn’t he? As the lead of the show, Macht’s character, Harvey Specter, was the main focus, while Meghan’s character, Rachel Zane, was more of a supporting player—a paralegal turned law student. She didn’t get nearly as much screen time as some might have believed. But Macht wasn’t done yet.

To avoid being labeled rude, he added a few compliments, calling Meghan’s laugh great and noting that she had a lot of compassion. These comments, however, came across as polite but somewhat detached—almost as if he were trying to avoid saying, “I don’t actually know her that well.”

For years, the media (particularly Meghan’s PR team) has worked to portray *Suits* as Meghan’s show, pushing headlines that suggested she carried the entire production.

In reality, though, Meghan was written off the show because her character was no longer crucial to the plot—well before she married Prince Harry. Macht’s comments indirectly highlight this overlooked truth.

His indifference to Meghan’s presence underscores a reality many have ignored: Meghan wasn’t the lead, nor was she central to the plot. She was a supporting character with minimal screen time, easily measured in seconds.

The funniest part? Macht casually threw in a line about Meghan’s charitable work, claiming she’s “making a dent.” This feels like an awkward attempt to appease Meghan’s PR machine, as her charitable efforts have often been seen as more about publicity than tangible impact. It’s almost as if her team handed him a script, begging him to say something nice.

The world has become captivated by the idea of Meghan Markle as a larger-than-life figure, but let’s not forget the reality: her time on *Suits* didn’t launch her career.

If anything, her performances were overshadowed by powerhouse actors like Gabriel Macht and Sarah Rafferty. Meghan’s fame post-*Suits* is entirely tied to her marriage to Prince Harry, a fact that even her most dedicated fans can’t deny.

In the end, Macht’s interview leaves one clear takeaway: Meghan Markle’s relevance on *Suits* was largely a product of someone else’s imagination.
