Selena Gomez is engaged to Benny Blanco — with a stunner of a ring to prove it.

On the heels of receiving double Golden Globe nominations, the Only Murders in the Building star shared a personal-life update on Dec. 11. She’s engaged to the Grammy-nominated producer and TikTok star.

“Forever begins now,” Gomez, 32, wrote on Instagram with a series of photos showcasing her new marquise-shaped diamond ring. In the comments, 36-year-old Blanco — who’s been dating Gomez since 2023 — wrote, “Hey wait … that’s my wife.” (Gomez’s pal Taylor Swift also commented, offering to be a flower girl at the nuptials.)A lot of people have been invested in the Emilia Pérez actress’s happiness amid her high-profile relationship with Justin Bieber as a teen and other suitors as well as her mental health challenges and health woes, which she has shared with candor. Gomez called Blanco a “complete light” in her life and said she’s “never been loved this way.”

December 2023: Gomez confirms she’s dating Blanco

Gomez — who also dated Nick Jonas and the Weeknd — knew Blanco professionally for years; he produced her songs including “Same Old Love” (2015) and “Single Soon” (2023). She appeared on his track “I Can’t Get Enough” in 2019 — and they looked cozy in a promo photo for it. She also starred in the music video. (Blanco also had a long-running collaboration with Bieber, including 2020’s “Lonely.”)

When a fan posted a photo of them together to Instagram, Gomez confirmed in the comments on Dec. 7 that they were dating, calling Blanco “my absolute everything” and “the best thing that’s ever happened to me.” She also wrote that the relationship had “been 6 months” strong, and shared a photo of a “B” ring she wore on her left-hand ring finger. She shared her own photos of them together in her Instagram Stories.

January 2024: Gomez and Blanco make their debut as a couple

They made their relationship status clear while sitting courtside together, and looking cozy, at a Los Angeles Lakers game on Jan. 3.

Days later, Gomez brought Blanco to the Golden Globes. While they dodged professional photographers, the nominee shared a couple of her own snapshots on Instagram.

On Jan. 15, she brought the producer — who’s behind musical hits including Kesha’s “Tik Tok,” Rihanna’s “Diamonds” and Katy Perry’s “Teenage Dream” — as her plus-one to the delayed 2023 Emmy Awards, where they cuddled up in their seats.

February 2024: Gomez calls Blanco her best friend

Gomez gave fans another glimpse of her life with Blanco, who is also a cookbook author. She captioned the series of photos “My bes fwend.”

March 2024: Gomez praises Blanco’s ‘kind heart’ in birthday tribute

When the producer turned 36 on March 8, Gomez led the online tributes. Hers, along with photos of them kissing and looking loved up around the globe, said: “Happy birthday baby! Your emotional endurance, positive disposition, unbelievable talent (that blows me away), undeniable humor and loving, kind heart absolutely kill me. I love you.”

May 2024: Blanco says he wants to marry Gomez

The producer opened up about his relationship with Gomez on SiriusXM’s The Howard Stern Show on May 14, saying she’s truly his “best friend,” and they laugh all day together. He said Gomez inspires him, gushing, “I don’t know a world where it could be better than this.”

When Stern told Blanco he could see them getting married, Blanco replied, “You and me both.” Blanco also said they had been together for nearly a year and revealed that he wants to have children.

July 2024: Blanco and Gomez share online ‘I love you’

Gomez turned 32 on July 22 and Blanco posted the throwback of them in his “I Can’t Get Enough” video. He wrote, “I used to play a teddy bear in ur music video and now i get to b urs in real life … happy bday bb ! i love u!” She replied in the comments, “I love you.”

September 2024: Gomez says ‘I’ve never been loved this way’

In the Vanity Fair cover story, Gomez opened up about her relationship with Blanco, saying he loves her in a way nobody else has.

“I’ve never been loved this way,” she said. “He’s just been a light. A complete light in my life. He’s my best friend. I love telling him everything.”

Asked about Blanco talking about proposing on Stern, Gomez said, “He can’t lie. After the interview, I was dying laughing. Like, ‘Anything else you wanted to put out there?'” But she said she was in no rush to get hitched — wanting to do it right, not quickly. She also revealed plans for starting a family by age 35 through adoption or surrogacy, explaining that she can’t carry a child herself due to her lupus diagnosis.

October 2024: Gomez says Blanco makes her feel ‘the safest I’ve ever felt’ in a relationship

Gomez was asked by the Hollywood Reporter about her decision to share glimpses of her romance with the world through her social media channels, which is different from her past relationships.

“I guess this is the safest I’ve ever felt in one, and I see a future with this person,” she replied. “And when you put a little bit out there, people are not as hungry to hunt you down. … But there’s so much of my relationship people don’t see, that’s just mine.

Gomez brought Blanco to the premiere of her Netflix film Emilia Pérez in Los Angeles on Oct. 21.

November: Blanco says ‘every day is the best day of my life’ with Gomez

Blanco is named one of People magazine’s Sexiest Men Alive and talked about what he’s like as a boyfriend. He said there are “no games,” and he goes “all out for every date.” That’s not just treating Gomez to fancy experiences — she’s also happy eating Taco Bell with him — but it’s about “being attentive and listening.”
