She’s been enjoying a tour of France and Italy in the family’s £5million luxury yacht – and last week,

Victoria Beckham showed off her slender body in a red bikini as she and husband David were seen relaxing on deck in Corsica.

Her holiday in the sun came just weeks after the fashion designer described the desire to be very thin as an “old-fashioned attitude”.

“I think women today want to look healthy and curvy. They want to have some boobs – and a bum,” she said while promoting her new VB Body range, which is aimed at “curvy women”.

However, the mum-of-four, 48, has since come under fire from fans for using a young, slim model to promote the high-end line.

And now insiders tell Closer that Victoria herself has no plans to let up on her strict diet and fitness routine to keep her super-svelte look.

“Her discipline knows no bounds and she’s admittedly extreme when it comes to looking after her body,” says the source. “She likes to look a certain way and that comes with a lot of hard work and sacrifice.

“Vic’s always been incredibly disciplined with her diet and exercise regime and she’s become even stricter in recent years – especially after hitting 45. Since then she’s really stepped it up, knowing how her metabolism would be slowing down. She’s determined to maintain her slender physique.”
Earlier this year, football legend David, 47, landed himself in hot water when he revealed how his wife “only eats grilled fish [and] steamed vegetables”.

During an interview with food podcast River Café Table 4, David added, “I’m married to someone that has eaten the same thing for the last 25 years. She will very rarely deviate away from there.”

Victoria later hit back during an interview with Vogue, saying, “Talk about making me sound boring! What he meant is that he’s never met anyone who’s more disciplined with the way that they eat.”

However, the former Spice Girl did agree that her diet consisted of “lots of healthy fat – fish, avocado, nuts, that sort of thing”, adding, “I’m quite extreme in anything I do.”
Sharing details of her daily diet staples and fitness routine, the source says, “She starts every morning off with her ‘green monster’ breakfast smoothie, which consists of apples, kiwi, lemon, spinach, broccoli and chia seeds, then does a rigorous workout.

“No matter how late she’s been up the night before, she’ll be in the gym by 6am to ensure she gets an hour-long workout in before taking Harper to school.

“That workout usually features a 4-5 mile uphill run followed by weight training and lunges, which she has increased over the last couple of years. “Vic used to steer clear of weights to avoid bulking up but she’s learned how beneficial they are to keeping toned – especially as she’s getting older and skin loses elasticity. She practises reformer Pilates to keep her limbs super-toned, too.

“She’ll then eat a bowl of Ezekiel 4:9 Original sprouted grain breakfast cereal with unsweetened organic almond milk or a bowl of berries with chia seeds. The rest of her daily meals will consist of grilled fish, steamed veg and healthy fats such as almonds and avocados – she always has super-healthy snacks like this available to graze on so she isn’t tempted to deviate.”

And while David and the couple’s eldest son Brooklyn love to cook and experiment with recipes in the kitchen, David has revealed Victoria will sit with a “vodka and tonic” and has only ever once tried something from his plate while pregnant with Harper.

“It was the most amazing thing. It was one of my favourite evenings,” David recalled. But the source says Victoria is open about how strict her diet and exercise regimen really is, and doesn’t encourage others to follow her daily routine.

“While many assume it can be a bit miserable for her, Vic insists that everything she does helps her feel good, both physically and mentally. So, in her eyes, it’s not worth sacrificing that.

“She says she has a tendency to put on weight quickly so loves eating healthily and ensures that it’s always well-seasoned so she never feels deprived. And she can still have treats – unwinding with a low-cal vodka and tonic isn’t exactly a hardship!

“Her lifestyle isn’t for everyone and while many will assume she’s obsessed with her body, for Vic, it’s become a way of life and one that she loves and embraces. She feels amazing and loves that confidence when stripping off into a swimsuit on holiday, which further motivates her to continue working at it.”
