Tyson Fury’s nutritionist reveals the secrets behind the Gypsy King’s drastic body transformation ahead of taking on Oleksandr Usyk in Riyadh this Saturday

Tyson Fury‘s nutritionist has revealed some explanations behind his extreme weight loss ahead of his fight with Oleksandr Usyk on Saturday.

The Gypsy King, who holds the WBC heavyweight tile is due to meet his Ukrainian opponent at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh.

Previously, Mail Sport reported fans’ reaction on Fury’s change in physique – even though it was said that the 35-years-old has likely been consuming around 6,000 calories a day.

His new look even concerned former boxer Carl Froch, who suspected that it could go against Fury as he might have slimmed down too  much.

But Greg Marriott – Fury’s nutritionist – is fully convinced in the British boxer as he still has the size advantage, expecting the fight to be like ‘man versus boy.’

‘We went out to Jeddah in November and did a fat-loss camp for six weeks, then got into serious training,’ Marriott told Sky Sports at the press conference on Thursday. ‘I’ve been in camp with him for six months.’

‘Listen, he’s telling me himself, he’s never gonna be body beautiful. It’s not about that. The body composition that has changed with him… I think people think he’s gonna be like 17.13st (249lb) – never.’

‘People say, ‘What’s changed in camp the last three years?’ Me. I’m not being big-headed, it is. I’ve come in and I’ve said: ‘Right, this is what we’re gonna do.’ And it’s nice, because he’s trusted me with everything.’

Marriott noticed that Tyson Fury hadn’t had have a similar sensation since winning his second fight with Deontay Wilder in February, 2020.

Earlier, Fury shared some details of his strict diet, publishing a photo of his chicken, rice and salad lunch on social media.

‘Watch what he does to Usyk. It’ll be like man versus boy, I promise you. He’s a serious Tyson Fury at the minute,’ Marriott said.

‘What I’ve done in the past, he knows. I took 9st off him with Ben Davison in 2017 for his comeback. It’s come round full circle.’

Both Fury and Usyk were in deep preparations for the upcoming fight to crown the first undisputed heavyweight champion of the four-belt era.

The British boxer has 34 wins with one draw, while Usyk maintains a perfect record of 21 wins and no defeats with 14 knockouts.
