Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk and Deontay Wilder vs Anthony Joshua 'could happen on SAME night in Saudi Arabia'

Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk and Deontay Wilder vs Anthony Joshua could happen on the same night in Saudi Arabia as part of a four-man heavyweight boxing tournament.

That is according to Matchroom chief Eddie Hearn, who has revealed that “conversations” have taken place about the Middle East hosting the fights.

TalkSPORT pundit Simon Jordan previously hinted that a series of fights involving Joshua, Wilder, Usyk and Fury were potentially in the works in Saudi Arabia.

WBC champ Fury and unified champ Usyk were initially tipped to clash in a long-awaited unification bout later this month at Wembley before their fight collapsed.

Joshua, meanwhile, made his return to the hotly anticipated return to the ring earlier this month and secured a unanimous decision win over American Jermaine Franklin.

The 33-year-old British star later confirmed that his next fight would be in December, despite promoter Hearn wanting him to fight three times in 2023.

Wilder, who suffered back-to-back defeats to Fury, made his triumphant return to the ring with a stunning first-round KO win over Robert Helenius last October.

Speaking to iFL TV, Hearn insisted that his focus is getting a “big mega-fight in December over the line” for two-time former unified champ Joshua.

“There have definitely been conversations that have taken place where people would like to host [Tyson] Fury against [Oleksansdr] Usyk and AJ against [Deontay] Wilder on the same night,” he said.

“It will cost a lot of money, but it would be our pick, and we will have those conversations. Our focus is to get that big mega-fight in December over the line.

“There is no official decision in terms of whether AJ will fight in July. Some of that may come around the deal or the decision or the completion of that fight in December.

“I would quite like to see him fight. I think he would like to fight in July, but right now, he’s not in camp for a July fight.”

Malik Scott, who is Wilder’s trainer, echoed similar remarks to Hearn over the heavyweight tournament by claiming that the “rumours are true.”

“I can say that those rumours are true, negotiations are going on and big fights are gonna be happening,” he told iFL TV.

“Not just with us, with a lot of top heavyweights.”

It is believed that a heavyweight tournament in the Middle East could have an eye-watering £325m purse attached to it.
