Red Bull boss Christian Horner has been reportedly left ‘hurt’ after his wife Geri Halliwell laid down some relationship rules for him ahead of the Australian Formula 1 Grand Prix in Melbourne commencing today.

However, the 50-year-old has agreed to his wife’s demands as the saga surrounding his job following a ‘sexting’ scandal with a Red Bull employee continues to rumble on.

It’s understood Halliwell has no plans to fly out to Melbourne for the Australian Grand Prix.

Before the 2024 Formula One season started, Red Bull Racing investigated a complaint made by a woman who works for the team.

Horner, who is the boss of Red Bull Racing and married to former Spice Girls star Halliwell, was found not guilty of any inappropriate behaviour just before the first practice session in Bahrain.

But then, things got complicated as messages that appeared very personal and were supposedly sent by Horner to the woman at work were released and shared via WhatsApp to Formula One stakeholders and journalists only a day after he was cleared.

This has brought attention back to Horner’s actions and put him and the Red Bull Racing team under the spotlight as they get ready for the racing season.

Halliwell has laid down the law ahead of practice at Albert Park today with a list of rules Horner must abide by in her absence.

‘One is that Christian cuts or reduces contact with the woman — but that is difficult because of her role at Red Bull,’ News Corp reported.

‘And she has definitely had her say over what messages he sends. For obvious reasons, Geri would like the female colleague — who she knew before her appointment — to be out of the picture as much as possible.

‘But they cannot sack her as there are no grounds to do so.’

The Spice Girls icon stood by her husband during the opening rounds in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia but will be a no-show in Melbourne this weekend.

However GBN has reported that Horner is not impressed with the list or his wife’s apparent mistrust in him.

‘Christian was initially hurt by the idea of a list of rules and said it felt like her showing distrust,’ a source said.

‘She insisted that while she still loves him, she has to protect herself and urged him to put himself in her shoes to understand the torment she’s endured with the public humiliation and embarrassment.

‘Christian eventually backed down and has agreed to do whatever it takes.’

The saga threatens to derail Red Bull’s period of dominance, with three-time F1 champion Max Verstappen reportedly considering a move to rivals Mercedes.

Red Bull continues to stand by Horner who has been team principal of the team ever since his appointment in 2005.
