The retired heavyweight champion coached Ngannou in the build-up to his fight with Fury.
The Gypsy King remains undefeated after taking on the former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) star in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Although his World Boxing Championship (WBC) heavyweight title was not on the line, Fury’s bout against Ngannou went the full distance.
Ngannou even dropped his opponent to the canvas in the third round after connecting with a left hook.
But that wasn’t the only memorable moment from the fight, with the 37-year-old also attempting a ‘superman’ punch on Fury. The move left Ngannou’s personal coach, Mike Tyson giggling outside of the ring. You can watch his reaction below.
As he watched his fighter in action, Tyson had a brilliant reaction to the moment, even revealing that he told Ngannou to use the blow and that particular pose.
Tyson said: “Superman punch! That’s what they do in the UFC. I told him to use it.”
After 10 rounds of action, the fight went to the judges scorecards as they decided in the favour of Fury, with the 35-year-old edging it 96-93 and 95-94, while another judge scored 95-94 in favour of Ngannou.
Indeed, many fans believe Ngannou deserved to win the fight, after the heavyweight champion was spotted connecting with an illegal elbow in the encounter. While there is a legitimate argument for a potential rematch in the future.
However, a fight against Oleksandr Usyk for a unified heavyweight bout against Fury towards the end of this year seems to be the Gypsy King’s most likely move.
