Many have blamed Fury for his world heavyweight unification with Oleksandr Usyk falling apart, but Warren claims to have proof.

Frank Warren exposes email that 'proves' Tyson Fury wasn't to blame for fight being off

Frank Warren has claimed to have emails that prove he and Tyson Fury were not to blame for the collapse of the fight with Oleksandr Usyk.

In the past few days, boxing fans have been massively let down as the world heavyweight unification fight between Fury and Usyk came apart at the seams.

It’s nothing new for fans of the sport, with the usual social media call outs from the British heavyweight increasingly falling on deaf ears, as it often leads to nothing.

A rematch clause and the split in money for a second fight were being blamed for the April 29th date at Wembley being called off by the parties involved.

Laura Woods summed up the disappointment that fans were feeling, claiming they deserved better from the sport, and said it was a PR catastrophe for the sport.

The Gypsy King, in extremely typical fashion, took to social media to call out his would be opponent, calling him a ‘little s***house,’ in his usual classy way.

Many have blamed the WBC champion for the problems, but now head of Queensbury Promotions, Warren, has claimed he has an email proving that’s not the case.

“This is a cop-out,” Fury’s promoter told iFL TV, “Listen to this, ‘I’m not even blaming him [Fury],'” he claimed the letter from Usyk’s promoter said, whilst appearing to read it.

“‘Because it is what it is,'” the email goes on to say.

Switching his attention to the words, Warren added, “He ain’t blaming him, that’s not my words.

“‘Team Usyk is out of negotiations for the April 29th fight,;” he said, continuing to read the email.

On the WBA, IBF, WBO and Ring Magazine champion, the Queensbury boss added, “What does Usyk deliver in America? Nothing. Nothing!

“…The money generated from this fight, for this fight to happen, is the US and the UK. I’ve just read out to you the numbers for the three [Deontay] Wilder fights, the three fights, over three million buys.

“Now I’ve read you what they said on Monday, and it didn’t change yesterday, we didn’t even get to a discussion about it. He [Usyk] had gone back to Kiev.

“…We’re not to blame, Queensbury are not to blame, and Tyson’s not to blame. It is what it is, not my words.”

Whilst it appears that Fury isn’t necessarily to blame for the breakdown of the talks, ‘it is what it is’ doesn’t exactly suggest Usky is to blame either.

Interestingly, footage of the British star claiming he would never fight the ‘foreigner’ and ‘cruiserweight,’ before the former 205 lbs champion’s win over Anthony Joshua, re-emerged following the recent break down of talks.

UFC president Dana White criticised boxing for allowing negotiations for big fights to break down and, whoever’s fault this latest example is, it’s hard to disagree.
