Deontay Wilder believes he is the most powerful boxer ever, ahead of Mike Tyson: “That is not even an argument no more, come on”

Wilder has been known for his vicious one-punch KO power, which helped him win the heavyweight title as he has knocked out every opponent he faced outside of Tyson Fury. With that, ‘The Bronze Bomber’ believes he is the most powerful puncher in boxing history, even ahead of Mike Tyson.

“It’s me! That is not even an argument no more, come on. It’s me, It’s me, it’s not arguable, and there is nothing wrong with that,” Wilder said to ES News (via BoxingSocial). “Like I told Mike, as history unfolds, they say that it repeats itself, but it is supposed to be better than the past history. There is nothing wrong with that, because I love all the old-school fighters that came forward, like I told Mike, that is how it is supposed to be.

“The new generation is supposed to come up and pass the old generation, because if that doesn’t occur that means that we haven’t accomplished anything, we haven’t evolved into nothing. This world is all about timing and patience and good decision-making,” Wilder continued. “If you ain’t evolving, then you are behind, you get left behind, you are becoming part of the problem that we are trying to get rid of. I told Mike, you paved the way for me, like Muhammad Ali had paved the way for you and I will pave the way for those who are coming behind me.”

Deontay Wilder certainly has a point that the newer generations will always be bigger, faster, and stronger. So it shouldn’t be a surprise that he considers himself the most powerful boxer ever, even though many will still say Tyson is.

Wilder (43-2-1) is coming off a first-round KO win over Robert Helenius back in October to return to the win column after back-to-back losses to Tyson Fury. He’s also the former WBC heavyweight champ wth notable wins over Luis Ortiz, Chris Arreola, Gerald Washington, and Malik Scott among others.

Do you agree with Deontay Wilder that he is the most powerful boxer ever?
