Brace yourselves, football fans, Inter Miami CF is coming to Hong Kong.

Tatler Asia has partnered with David Beckham, president and co-owner of Inter Miami CF,

and Inter Miami CF to bring a star-studded football line-up to Asia’s World City for a special exhibition XFEST match on Sunday, February 4, 2024.

Not only will this game be a part of his team’s first-ever global tour, but it is also a part of our inaugural Tatler XFEST.

The team, which will be headed by eight-time Ballon d’Or winner Lionel Messi and include legendary players such as Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets,

will play against a specially invited Hong Kong Team. Not only is this a very exciting collaboration,

it is also an undeniable indication that Hong Kong is ready to reclaim its place as a world class destination.

“Hong Kong has such a great sports scene,” says Beckham. “In partnership with Tatler, we are pleased to be able to bring the team to this fantastic city as part of Inter Miami CF’s debut game in Asia.”

For Tatler Asia, this also spotlights our new brand experience Tatler XFEST, which will be launched on February 1, 2024.

“We are delighted to collaborate with David and Inter Miami CF to bring this remarkable match to Hong Kong,” says Michel Lamunière, CEO and chairman of Tatler Asia, and that “Tatler XFEST is more than just a football game; it’s a celebration of the best of Hong Kong through a combination of city-wide sporting, lifestyle and luxury experiences. We envision Tatler XFEST as an annual extravaganza, set to become the city’s most anticipated event of the year.

“In recent years, Tatler has expanded its event operations in response to growing interest in sports, lifestyle and luxury experiences,” Lamunière explains. “Our increasing involvement in high-profile international sporting events symbolises Tatler’s ongoing evolution as a luxury platform creating exclusive content and unforgettable experiences. We aim to deliver these experiences while bolstering Hong Kong’s reputation as a city known for its excellence in hosting such events.”

What Tatler Asia and Inter Miami CF have in common is a shared borderless ambition and potential. Just as Inter Miami CF has captured headlines all over the world, Tatler has captured the essence of the Best of Asia. From inspirational visionaries and innovative pioneers to compassionate philanthropists and iconic style leaders, Tatler has built a community as diverse, tight-knit and impactful as a legendary football team—a community that has shown it is ready for elevated experiences that showcase Hong Kong as an unmatched international sports and events destination.

The future of Tatler XFEST is exhilarating, as we continue to bring to the forefront events and collaborations that will cement the Fragrant Harbour as host of such exclusive and meaningful experiences. And this Inter Miami CF vs Hong Kong Team XFEST football game is just the start.

“We’re thrilled to be able to bring our team to new markets like this one in 2024,” says Xavier Asensi, the chief business officer of Inter Miami CF. “I spent several years living and working in Hong Kong, so I am familiar with the incredible culture and the deep passion for football. We are looking forward to bringing Inter Miami CF to play in front of these special fans.”

Similarly, Eric Fok—the chairman of The Football Association of Hong Kong, China (HKFA)—is ready to warmly welcome Inter Miami CF to the city, and says that “HKFA is committed to raising the standard of football and bringing new experiences to the local fans. We will continue to bring more world class football teams to play in the city and further establish Hong Kong as a regional hub for mega sporting events.”
