Last weekend, David Beckham went to Siem Reap, Cambodia as a goodwill ambassador for UNICEF.


Here, the father of four children had the opportunity to meet many children in difficult circumstances, suffering both physical and mental abuse.

The former British football player smiled and learned local greetings from the children here.

“I went to Cambodia to visit children who had been abused, listen to their stories and see what UNICEF and its partners could do to keep them safe.

The former England team captain brought laughter to less fortunate children in the Southeast Asian country.

This is the 10th year Beckham has assumed the role of UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador.

The Foundation helps UNICEF deliver life-changing programs to children around the world, including those affected by violence in Cambodia.

Also on this trip, Beckham took the opportunity to visit famous places in Cambodia.

On Instagram, the former England midfielder wrote: “Just had an unforgettable time in Cambodia, meeting wonderful people, truly inspiring children.

Angkor Wat, a famous temple in Cambodia, is considered by Beckham to be one of the most beautiful places in the world.
