Conor McGregor doesn't call Jake Paul by his name as he gives him brutal nickname

Conor McGregor brutally refused to call Jake Paul by his name as he made his prediction for his upcoming fight against Nate Diaz.

Paul, who suffered the first defeat of his professional career to Tommy Fury back in February, returns to action against former UFC superstar Diaz, who left the MMA promotion following his victory over Tony Ferguson.

They’ll be involved in an eight-round clash in Dallas, Texas, on August 5, with McGregor making his prediction for the high-profile boxing bout.

He fancies the Stockton star to beat Paul but failed to refer him by his name as he gave the YouTuber-turned-boxer a savage nickname.

Speaking to Matchroom ahead of Katie Taylor’s big fight against Chantelle Cameron, the UFC fighter ruthlessly called him a ‘donkey’.

“I fancy him [Nate Diaz] for it, to be honest,” he told Ariel Helwani. “The man’s a bit windy. The other cat’s a bit windy.

“He’s [Jake Paul] a donkey. The guy’s a donkey, but you’re a cat. The donkey has a kick as well.

“So, you just got to be worried about that.”

McGregor and Paul have exchanged insults as the 26-year-old continues his pursuit of landing a fight against the Irishman.

And the American appears to be confident in getting his wish as he believes it’s ‘inevitable’ he faces the ‘Notorious’ down the line.

Asked about a potential bout against McGregor, he replied: “Inevitable. I think he’s got trauma from when Nate slapped his head off.”

McGregor, meanwhile, is set to return to action later this year, having been out of action since his gruesome leg-break against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 back in July 2021.

He’s in line to meet Michael Chandler before the year’s out as he looks to snap a two-fight losing skid.

Will he fight Paul in the future? Watch this space.
