David Beckham used to stay up all night playing with Lego while away on England duty, according to former team mate Ben Foster.

The Inter Miami owner, had a special way of passing the time on international breaks.

The 40-year-old was speaking on the latest episode of his podcast Fozcast, and lifted the lid on the ex-England skipper’s habit.


‘He used to bring Lego sets to England,’ Foster said. ‘He would go into his room and just do Lego all night. It would proper chill him out.


‘He would just sit there, do his Lego set, have a nice time. Lovely.’

Beckham has previously shared snaps of himself completing Lego projects which include the Millennium Falcon

Sleeping Beauty’s castle, Hogwarts, and a Disney castle for his daughter.

In 2020 the ex-Man United and Real Madrid man appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, where he spoke of his obsession with the Danish building blocks.

‘I grew up making Lego when I was eight or nine years old,’ the 48-year-old said. ‘Actually, I continue it and Victoria always laughs at me.

‘She’ll come down at like two o’clock in the morning and I’ll be trying to finish a piece off.

‘She posted something the other day and I think she said because it was like 11 years and above

She was like: ‘Really? You are still up at two o’clock in the morning doing 11 years and above Lego?”‘
