Prince Harry’s “honeymoon period” in the US with Meghan Markle has come to an end, according to a royal expert who claimed the Duke is now “sad” and “missing his old life in the UK.”

The Sussexes moved to the US in 2020 after their acrimonious exit from the Royal Family.

They have since built a new, more independent, life in the States, living in a luxurious Montecito mansion in California.

Harry and Meghan’s life away from the royals has also seen them pursue their own ventures such as Netflix series, podcasts, a memoir, and a new lifestyle brand.

But royal expert Tom Quinn claims Harry is no longer enjoying his new life as much as he once did.

He told The Mirror: “As time goes by, Harry misses some aspects of his old life in the UK.

“Inevitably, the honeymoon period where everything in the States is new and exciting is coming to an end and Harry is looking back at the past through rose-tinted spectacles.”

Mr Quinn believes Harry now wants a permanent home in the UK.

He added: “He misses his Old Etonian and army friends, many of whom have not visited as they don’t get on with Meghan.

“Harry is determined to find his own permanent home in the UK, which is partly why he’s continuing his legal action to get the British taxpayer to pay for his security.”

In his memoir, Spare, Harry admitted that he always planned to stay in the UK.
