King Charles and the British Royal Family are reportedly hoping that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will continue their partnership with Netflix to prevent further “exposés of royal life”

That have earned the couple “megabucks,” according to royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who stepped down as senior royals in 2020, have worked on several projects, including a Netflix series and Harry’s memoir, “Spare,” which have shed light on their struggles within the Royal Family and their reasons for relocating to the United States.

In an exclusive interview with The Mirror, Fitzwilliams stated that following the Sussexes’ various “exposés on royal life,” Prince William and King Charles “no longer trust” Harry and Meghan. “After the Oprah interview, the Harry and Meghan Netflix documentary and the publication of Harry’s memoir Spare, as well as the interviews he gave promoting it, the popularity of the royal family suffered and the Sussexes were considered to have gone rogue,” Fitzwilliams said. “The biggest casualty was trust. It is unsurprising that King Charles and Prince William no longer trust Harry and Meghan.”

The royal expert also suggested that the Royal Family likely hopes the couple’s contract with Netflix, which is set to expire next year, will be renewed, despite the streaming giant no longer producing “The Crown.” Fitzwilliams explained, “It runs out next year and Netflix are no longer producing the series of The Crown, as they previously were. They might therefore have less interest in the Sussexes.”

He added that if the Sussexes were to lose their Netflix contract, with their business and charitable foundation, Archewell, having few donors, they “might well be in financial trouble.” Fitzwilliams emphasized, “Since their exposés of royal life has made megabucks, but little else has made money, the Royal Family better hope that this unpredictable and ruthlessly ambitious couple stays with Netflix.”

The royal commentator also suggested that Harry and Meghan “need more A-List endorsements” for their upcoming projects to be successful. “Meghan’s programme for Netflix on cookery and entertaining and her lifestyle brand American Riviera Orchard and Harry’s series for Netflix on polo, show some much-needed activity. They clearly need more A-list endorsements, however,” he said.

In a related development, royal author Tom Quinn has claimed that King Charles is expected to invite Harry and Meghan to Balmoral this summer but is certain they will decline. The monarch traditionally spends the summer in Scotland and invites members of the Royal Family to join him. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex made one trip to Balmoral before stepping down as senior working royals.

Quinn told The Mirror, “King Charles will issue the traditional invitation to Harry and Meghan to spend part of the summer at Balmoral, but safe in the knowledge that Harry and Meghan will make their excuses and decline.” He added that while the 50,000-acre private estate might be the perfect place to “let bygones be bygones,” Queen Consort Camilla will be “dreading anything that threatens the calm her husband needs to continue his recovery from cancer.”

The royal author also suggested that Harry’s feud with Prince William might prevent him from accepting the invitation. “Harry would love to see Kate and his expressions of concern for her are deeply felt but he knows that he can’t see Kate without seeing his brother so it’s not going to happen,” Quinn explained.
