Meryl Streep’s Unexpected Snub: Tells Meghan Markle to ‘Get Lost’ at Only Murders Premiere

The excitement was palpable on the red carpet at the Dolby Theatre, with stars making grand entrances and fans eagerly cheering their favorites. However, the evening took a surprising turn when Meghan Markle, formerly the Duchess of Sussex, experienced a notable snub from Meryl Streep.

As the red carpet event unfolded, Meghan, accompanied by Prince Harry, approached Meryl Streep with hopes of securing a photo opportunity. Meghan, who has long admired Streep’s work, expressed her enthusiasm and requested a picture, saying, “Miss Streep, I’m a tremendous fan of yours. It would be an absolute honor if we could take a picture together tonight. It means everything to me.”

Meryl Streep’s response was anything but warm. With a firm gesture and a piercing look, she shot down Meghan’s request, stating, “Absolutely not. I’m here for the performance, not superficial photographs. Please leave me be and try pestering someone else.”

The air grew tense as the crowd fell silent, witnessing the awkward exchange. Meghan’s once bright smile faded into embarrassment as she tried to respond, but Streep cut her off with disdain. “I’m sorry, but I don’t know you and have no interest in taking a photo. Our purpose here is not focused on your fame or interests whatsoever.”

Streep emphasized that the event was meant to honor the cast and crew of *Only Murders in the Building*, suggesting Meghan’s presence was an intrusion. The crowd erupted in applause as Streep made her stance clear, and Meghan, visibly mortified, retreated with Harry.

As Streep continued to walk the carpet, interacting with fans and posing for photos, her actions were widely praised. Social media quickly buzzed with reactions, with many lauding Streep for her forthrightness. One Twitter user remarked, “I’m here for it,” praising Streep’s decisive response to Meghan. Another comment noted Meghan’s misjudgment in expecting a photo op from such a celebrated actress.

Support for Streep came from her peers as well. Actress Reese Witherspoon tweeted, “Meryl is my girl for putting Meghan in her place. It’s great to witness.”

However, the drama didn’t end there. As the event wrapped up, Meghan reportedly confronted Streep with anger, saying, “How dare you reject me like that? Don’t forget who I am—a member of the royal family. It’s an honor for you to take a photo with me.” Streep remained unflinching, retorting, “I doubt it. You’re just an actress who married into a noble family. Tonight is my moment, not yours. Why don’t you spare us the trouble and leave?”

Witnesses were stunned by the confrontation, and Meghan, realizing she was outmatched, left the scene in frustration. Meanwhile, Streep basked in admiration from the crowd, her dismissal of Meghan becoming a hot topic online.

Fans and commentators continued to celebrate Streep’s poise and refusal to be intimidated. One admirer called Streep a “national treasure,” while another praised her for teaching Meghan a valuable lesson in humility.

For Meghan Markle, the incident was a humiliating moment she is unlikely to forget. In contrast, Meryl Streep emerged from the night with her reputation as a Hollywood legend firmly intact, having once again proven her unshakable composure and authority.
