Sean Ono Lennon has finally shared his thoughts on Prince Harry’s memoir ‘Spare’ and didn’t hold back. However, he received death threats after poking fun at it.

It’s been a week since the musician shared his thoughts on the book. Recently, he took to X to mention the threats he has been getting. He wrote:“I’ve had 3-4 death threats since making fun of Harry’s book title and then later saying it was justified because he’s an idiot and that he and I both deserve to be mocked. Yay internet.”

Sean’s Earlier Comments

The son of John Lennon and Yoko Ono took to his official Twitter account and wrote his thoughts about the book. He suggested the Duke of Sussex could have named his memoir ‘Spare Me’:

“My long-awaited review of Prince Harry’s autobiography is two words: ‘Spare Me.’”

Lennon stood by his strong words even when fans of the Duke defended him. The musician continued:

“I do empathise with him generally. But the way he whines and wangs on about things is really too much. I’m just having a little fun. I think he’s earned some mockery. (I’m sure I have as well).”

Another user praised Prince Harry’s courage in opening up and writing his book. Lennon referred to Prince Harry’s account of frostbite on his genitals and jokingly replied:

“The todger story certainly took some courage.”

A user slammed Sean, saying:

“Shame you don’t see how much you have in common. Both of your fathers are cheaters who chose their mistresses over their families. You both lost parents under tragic circumstances. The main difference is that he was pursued relentlessly by the press; you were all but forgotten.”

Sean then responded, saying he met him and insulted the Prince:

“Actually I am aware of it. We met once. That was before I realized he was an idiot.”

Prince Harry’s Comments Caused Controversy

The Prince’s book got a lot of mockery from people and famous names alike. One particular part of the book was made fun of the most: The frostbite section. Lennon also commented on this when the memoir first came out in January 2023.

Harry wrote:

“My penis was oscillating between extremely sensitive and borderline traumatized. The last place I wanted to be was Frostnipistan. I’d been trying some home remedies, including one recommended by a friend. She’d urged me to apply Elizabeth Arden cream. My mum used that on her lips. ‘You want me to put that on my todger?’ ‘It works, Harry. Trust me.’ I found a tube, and the minute I opened it, the smell transported me through time. I felt as if my mother was right there in the room.”

Days after the book’s release, Lennon posted on X:

“When Harry’s editor read the sentence ‘My p*nis was oscillating between extremely sensitive, and borderline traumatized,’ did they not want to stage an intervention of some sort? I mean that is for sure one of the worst sentences ever written in the English language.”
