The One Show is facing another shake-up as Alex Jones issued an announcement.

The BBC programme has undergone several changes over the last few weeks, including presenter swaps and being hauled off air in favour of election coverage at the Euros.

At the beginning of July, the programme was dropped from the schedule for an entire week and replaced by Wimbledon coverage.

On Tuesday evening (July 9), Alex, 47, Jermaine Jenas, and Roman Kemp were replaced by Lauren Laverne and Vernon Kay, who announced the show wouldn’t be airing the following evening.

Alex and Roman, 31, returned to the sofa on Thursday (July 11), but announced yet another shake-up. Closing the programme, Alex told viewers she would be joined by a stand-in presenter on Friday (July 12).

Vernon, 50, will be hosting once again as Roman and Jermaine focus on other work. She told viewers: “I’ll be back tomorrow night alongside Vernon Kay, when former Little Mix star Perrie will be talking about her new music.

“Plus, we’ll be joined by Bafta winning actor Anne Marie Duff and comedian Jack Dee.” It comes after Alex bid an “emotional farewell” to her home of 11 years.

At the beginning of the week, she told her followers: “This was emotional. After 11 years, we are moving house,” accompanied by a crying face emoji.

Alex has been keeping her 363,000 Instagram followers updated on her packing efforts as she prepares to move her family into their new home.
