However, The Sun is reporting that the footie star has undergone surgery to fix an injury he picked up 22 years ago.

Back in 2003, David broke his wrist during an England match against South Africa.

What’s Next for Duchess Sophie? Her Proud Father’s Reaction Hints at Major Royal Changes!

Sophie married into the monarchy in 1999

Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, has often been described as the royal family’s “secret weapon” and she could end up playing an even bigger role in the monarchy.

Sophie and her husband Prince Edward, Duke of Edinburgh, are beloved members of the monarchy. They undertake hundreds of royal engagements each year in support of King Charles.

It’s said that both Prince William and wife Kate, Princess of Wales, are also fond of Sophie. Both share a close bond with her.

Duchess Sophie to have ‘bigger role’ within royal family

According to a new report, the Duchess of Edinburgh, 60, is keen to relieve some work pressure from King Charles, Queen Camilla, and the Prince and Princess of Wales.

A source reportedly close to Sophie told The Sun: “Sophie is very keen to take on more work for the royal family.  Until now, she has been a bit like Princess Anne. Someone who has done a hell of a lot of travelling to engagements all over the world without any real fanfare.

“The places she has gone to are often not very fashionable, to say the least. But she happily goes and gives each engagement her all because she knows she is representing the king.”

They added: “The duchess is very good at doing her own research for those engagements and writing her own speeches, as does the duke.  I suspect that as she takes on more work for the family, Sophie will have to have more staff.”

According to the report, Sophie’s 94-year-old father, Chris Rhys-Jones, feels delighted that his daughter will have a bigger role within the family.

Royal Insider has contacted reps for Buckingham Palace for comment.

Duchess Sophie felt ‘frustration’ after joining royal family

Sophie has now become one of the most beloved figures within the royal family. However, it wasn’t an easy journey to get to this point.

She married into the monarchy in 1999 when she and Edward tied the knot at St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle.

During those early days, Sophie still had her PR career. But in 2002, both Sophie and Edward stepped away from their business roles to support Queen Elizabeth II’s golden jubilee year.

She spoke to The Sunday Times in 2020 about her role within the monarchy. Sophie admitted: “Certainly it took me a while to find my feet.

“The frustration was I had to reduce my expectations of what I could actually do. I couldn’t turn up at a charity and go, right, I think you should be doing this. That’s what I was used to doing in my working life.”

From fame to the brink: The shocking untold story of Noel Edmonds’ darkest days fighting depression, public outrage, and his controversial battle with prostate cancer.

Kiwi Adventure star has previously endured serious health issues

House Party star Noel Edmonds divided audiences with his Kiwi Adventure telly comeback last week – but were you aware the former Crinkly Bottom funny frontman has previously endured serious health issues?

Back in 2015, a very spiritual Noel declared “electro smog” a bigger threat to health than ebola or AIDs. In a chat with the Daily Mirror, he also indicated he believes death doesn’t exist – and the body is a “container” of “universal energy”.

Since then, however, Noel has reportedly faced very significant challenges. And he credits his health regimen for keeping him well and fit amid those problems.

    Noel Edmonds health battles

In September 2017, Noel addressed how he attempted to take his own life in 2005. It came after he suffered business woes at the hands of fraudulent bankers, some of who went to prison.

“The only way I can describe it, is it’s the darkest space that the human mind ever occupies,” he told ITV News at the time.

Noel continued: “You see nothing. I mean I had four daughters, I had a wife, I had mates, I saw nothing in that dark space.

“I wrote a letter to my now ex-wife explaining as best I could why I’d reached the end and I recorded little dictaphone messages to my daughters basically saying goodbye.”

Noel’s business accrued debts of £3 million – and in 2007 his Unique Group went into receivership.

‘Why would anybody want to take their own life?’

Meanwhile, in last week’s first episode of the Kiwi Adventure series, Noel reflected on how a sculpture named Guardian kept him “motivated” during “dark times”.

“When the companies went into administration, I thought I was a crap businessman. I thought it was my fault. 70 people lost their jobs,” he explained.

However, Guardian – a statue of a knight kneeling bearing the inscription “The devil saw me with my head down and thought he’d won until I said Amen” – reminds Noel of where he has been and how he has felt.

He explained: “The relevance of that is the knight is not kneeling in defeat; he’s praying.”

Choking up, Noel added: “He’s praying before he gets up and defeats the dark force, the enemy.”

If you’ve ever been in that dark space, you’ll never be critical.

He continued: “I’ll tell you, when you go to that dark space… I used to, like many people, kind of look down my nose and think, why would anybody want to take their own life? Why would they want to do that? I’ll tell you, if you’ve ever been in that dark space, you’ll never be critical, because it’s a space where there is no reason.”

    Prostate cancer claims

In November 2016, the former Deal or No Deal host appeared on This Morning and claimed he knew the reason for his prostate cancer diagnosis. He believed his financial legal issues had directly affected his wellbeing.

“I am absolutely sure the negative forces acting on me impacted on my health,” Noel said.

“There is a wealth of information from various clinical studies of a direct link between stress and cancer. I am absolutely certain there was a link in my case.”

Noel went on: “I was, I thought, very, very healthy. I know why I got my cancer. The definition of stress is negative energy. It didn’t just decide to manifest itself, there was cause.”

However, when he made claims about how he’d treated his condition, Noel’s suggestion was met with plenty of scepticism.

As noted by The Guardian, Noel also faced a wave of backlash from online users who said he was promoting dangerous pseudoscience.

“Thanks to electromagnetism, I’m now cancer-free,” he said at the time. He also posted on Twitter that an an electromagnetic pulse device costing £2,315, was “a simple box that slows ageing, reduces pain, lifts depression and stress and tackles cancer. Yep tackles cancer!” Manufacturer EMP Pad Ltd reportedly denied Noel’s claims.

However, according to more recent reports from earlier this month, Noel believes an exercise called ‘Tranquil Power’ helps keep him trim.

As well as taking hot and cold showers, as well as saunas, Noel reportedly also practices crystal healing through electromagnetic vibrations and meditation. He is also said to undergo hyperbaric chamber treatment every week, and also spends plenty of time outdoors.

  • ‘Reason’ Prince William and Kate Middleton ‘won’t move into’ Highgrove House!

‘Reason’ Prince William and Kate Middleton ‘won’t move into’ Highgrove House!

William spent a lot of his childhood at the home and now has control over it

Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton are unlikely to move into Highgrove House, where his parents, King Charles and Princess Diana, once spent a lot of time.

Charles and Diana occupied Highgrove at weekends after their marriage in 1981. Their sons, Prince William and Prince Harry, spent much of their childhood at the house.

When Charles, 76, became king in 2022, control of Highgrove was automatically transferred to his eldest son and heir to the throne, the Prince of Wales.

    Who owns Highgrove House?

Highgrove House has been owned by the Duchy of Cornwall since 1980. The property is southwest of Tetbury in Gloucestershire.

When Charles became king following the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, William became Duke of Cornwall and inherited the duchy.

Therefore, William has control of Highgrove House. The king rents the house from the duchy to use as his and Queen Camilla’s country residence.

Despite William having control of Highgrove, it’s unlikely he’ll ever move into the home.

King Charles’ former gardener, Jack Stooks, has explained why.

Where do Prince William and Kate Middleton live?

Prince William, Kate, and their three children, George, Charlotte, and Louis, live at Adelaide Cottage.

Adelaide Cottage is located in Windsor Home Park just east of Windsor Castle. The family has lived there since 2022, when they moved from Kensington Palace.

It’s like a family home that mum and dad lived in.

The home has four bedrooms and offers the family more privacy compared to Kensington Palace.

According to royal gardener Jack, the Wales family will likely stay at Adelaide Cottage instead of moving into Highgrove.

Reason William and Kate wouldn’t move into Highgrove

Speaking to OK!, Jack said: “Before [Charles] became king, I think the idea was that they needed to make sure that the garden was actually protected.

“So I think he thought that William probably wouldn’t move into Highgrove once he became king, so the idea was, ‘Let’s protect it somehow’, so it was given over to the Prince’s Foundation. So the Prince’s Foundation now rents the garden from the Duchy of Cornwall.”

He added: “I think that William’s obviously got his own family now, so he’s got his own family unit and they’ve been brought up at Armer Hall, and also now at the Adelaide Cottage. Highgrove was very much his mum and dad’s home [where they] were brought up, so it’s like a family home that mum and dad lived in.”

However, Jack believes it would be “unfair to Kate” if the family moved into Highgrove. He said that’s like “her having to step into Diana’s shoes”.

Penny and Rod’s dog Bubbles passed away in March

Penny Lancaster has paid tribute to her late family dog in a post shared to Instagram, three months after revealing the beloved pet had died following a cancer diagnosis.

The 54-year-old TV personality and former model, who is married to music legend Sir Rod Stewart, shared an image on her Instagram Story on Thursday evening (June 26).

Penny Lancaster shares tribute to dog Bubbles

The illustration showed a woman sitting beside a golden dog with angel wings, watching the sunrise over a field. A speech bubble read: “We still talk about you,” to which the dog replies: “I know.”

Penny captioned the post “Bubbles,” followed by a white heart emoji, a nod to the family’s late Cavapoo.

The tribute follows the devastating news she confirmed back in March, when she announced that Bubbles had passed away after a battle with cancer.

At the time, Penny wrote: “I still think you left too soon but I’m thankful for your time. Heaven’s lucky to have you and so was I.”

Penny and Rod are well known for their love of animals, particularly dogs.

The couple have adopted pets from rescue shelters over the years, including their second dog, Labradoodle Lilly, who was often seen side-by-side with Bubbles in family photos and videos.

    ‘Companions for life’

In a previous Instagram post, Penny opened up about Bubbles’ diagnosis.

“Bubbles, our curly one, has been diagnosed with cancer. Although his recent surgery was successful, sadly, it’s spread,” she wrote.

“Our Lilly from @battersea keeps him company and never leaves his side, and the two of them never leave my side. “Companions for life, for as long as that life will be. I feel blessed for every moment I spend with them.”

She concluded the emotional post by calling them “my gifts from up above, my angels on earth”.

The couple’s deep affection for their dogs is no secret.

Last year, they were featured in a post by the Celia Hammond Animal Trust, showing them cuddling their dog Lilly.

At the time, they also shared their adoption story.

“Lilly, our rescue dog from Battersea, came into our lives just before lockdown,” the couple wrote. “She shows us her gratitude every day with her love, protection and loyalty.”

Chris Tarrant reveals shocking truth behind sudden TV exit: ‘I might be running out of time!

Chris retired from his decades-long showbiz career in 2024

TV icon Chris Tarrant has opened up about his decision to step away from the spotlight after a career spanning more than five decades, admitting that personal loss and a health scare made him rethink everything.

In a new interview with MailOnline, the 78-year-old presenter, best known for Who Wants to Be a Millionaire?, revealed the reasons he chose to leave his 52-year television career behind.

Why did Chris Tarrant leave Millionaire?

“52 years is a long time on air. I loved what I did. I had a really good time,” Chris reflected.

But it was the funerals of five close friends, including broadcasting legend Sir Terry Wogan, that sparked a turning point.

“I went to the funerals of five really good mates, who were about the same age as me. I thought, ‘I don’t know how long I’ve got left in life, but I don’t want to spend it locked away in a studio’,” he said.

Chris hosted Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? from 1998 until 2014.

He briefly contemplated retirement after suffering a mini-stroke in 2014, which left him needing speech therapy.

“I had a lucky escape. I can chat to you now, [my body] is working. But I did have to have speech therapy. It took a while to get everything back. It was scary,” he admitted.

That life-altering health scare was another wake-up call, and one that pushed him to finally slow down.

    ‘I don’t need the money’

By the time the COVID-19 pandemic hit, Chris was ready to put work behind him completely.

In a previous interview with The Mirror in 2020, he said the global crisis gave him clarity.

“Lockdown started to get everything in a bit perspective, and I thought, ‘I’ve done this thing for 50 years. I don’t need the money’,” he mused.

He stepped away from the screen to finally live the life he’d missed.

“I went on safari with my two eldest grandkids. Jane [his wife] and I have just come back from Borneo. I’ve just come back from photographing bears in Alaska. Why the hell would I go for work for?” Chris joked.

Despite his high-profile career, Chris insists he doesn’t miss the glitz of television.

“I had a great time. I’ve had a brilliant life,” he said with a smile.

Prince Harry ‘sends direct challenge to King Charles with problematic olive branch’

Prince Harry is reportedly set to invite his father the King to the next Invictus Games in Birmingham, which takes place in two years’ time – but one royal expert has sent a warning

Prince Harry has posed a direct challenge to King Charles with his latest ‘olive branch’ move, according to an expert.

It has been claimed that Harry plans to invite the King and other royals to his next Invictus Games in Birmingham, with email invitations set to be sent later this month. It would be the strongest indication yet that the Duke of Sussex wants to bring his family back together.

The next Invictus Games is being held at the NEC in Birming from July 10 to 17, 2027, and it is claimed that sending invitations soon would give Charles and the rest of the royals the best chance of attending. Just weeks ago, Harry revealed that he is no longer speaking to his father, but admitted that he would like reconciliation with him and his older brother, Prince William, amid their bitter feud.

    Meghan and Harry

But according to royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams, if the King does indeed receive an invitation to the Games, it poses a huge dilemma. He told the Express: “He [King] is Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Invictus is a major military charity. Also, as head of state, he is a symbol of national unity. If he accepts, he would be putting duty above what obviously is a painful public rift between him and his family and the Sussexes. It will be argued that that is his job.

“However, it might involve extremely serious problems for the Royal Family, who rightly do not trust the Sussexes. If the King accepted it, this would involve public contact with Harry and almost certainly Meghan and his grandchildren, Archie and Lili.”

He continued: “The invitation to attend Invictus represents a direct challenge to King Charles. Much will hinge on how he replies and what subsequently happens.”

The rift between the Sussexes and the royal family opened significantly following their interview with Oprah Winfrey, during which they alleged a member of the family was concerned about their son Archie’s skin tone before he was born.

Prince Harry with Lilibet on her shoulders as he holds Archie's hand

Then the duke claimed in his controversial memoir, Spare, that William physically attacked him, that the King put his own interests above Harry’s and that Kate and William were jealous of Meghan.

But Harry’s decision to speak out appears to have worsened the chances of an end to his estrangement. There are suggestions that the King, who is still being treated for cancer, and the Prince of Wales will fear more than ever that any conversation with the duke would end up in the public domain.

Meanwhile, it remains to be seen when the games are held in the UK in just over two years if Harry will bring his wife Meghan and children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet with him.

Last month, Harry lost his appeal against the dismissal of his High Court claim against the Home Office over the decision of the Executive Committee for the Protection of Royalty and Public Figures (Ravec) that he should receive a different degree of protection when in the UK.

Speaking at the time, he said the Court of Appeal decision means it is now “impossible” for him to bring Meghan and their children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet back to the UK safely.

In an interview with the BBC, he said: “I can’t see a world in which I will be bringing my wife and children back to the UK at this point and the things they are going to miss is everything. I love my country and always have done…despite what some people in that country have done.

He continued: “So I miss the UK. I miss parts of the UK. Of course, I do. I think it’s really quite sad that I won’t be able to show my children my homeland.” A spokesman for Invictus said: “No formal invitations have been issued as preparations are in the early stages.”
