Lorraine Kelly left in tears after guest stops show to deliver unexpected message!

Lorraine Kelly became visibly emotional during this morning’s episode of her ITV show when guest Paris Lees halted the live broadcast to issue a special message to the TV presenter

ITV star Lorraine Kelly was reduced to tears during her show today, when author Paris Lees stopped the live broadcast to issue an emotional message to the presenter.

Appearing on Lorraine to promote her new BBC drama What It’s Like for a Girl, Paris ended her interview by thanking Lorraine for her work with the transgender community. “There is so much hostility for trans people in the trans community at the moment and you’ve been consistently an ally.

Lorraine Kelly was seen tearing up during her ITV show today

“We see you and we really appreciate it, you really use your platform for good” Paris said, to which Lorraine responded: “You’re going to make me cry.”

Paris continued: “Honestly, not everyone is there speaking up for us. We’re less than 0.5 percent of the population and we are under attack. You are using your platform for good and you are a friend.

“I should have brought some flowers or something. I hereby declare you an honorary diva.”

Lorraine could be seen wiping a tear from her eye as she said: “I’ll take that!”

Last week, Lorraine appeared to drop a defiant message to ITV bosses about the survival of her show amid cuts that will see it be slashed to a 30 minute runtime just 30 weeks a year.

Speaking to Tom Kerridge on the Proper Tasty podcast, she said: “40 years in TV last year was incredible. I got a BAFTA. ‘Here’s a BAFTA for being alive.’ I thought, ‘Hang on a minute, I’m not done yet.’

“I think now I can be a lot cheekier. Because I’ve always been a bit naughty. Not so much in the morning, but if I do a wee show on Channel 4, or The Last Leg, or something like that. You can be unleashed. And I quite like that. You do have to have a self-edit button, and I’m finding mine is not operating as much as it should.”

Meanwhile, ITV launched a brand new channel this week despite making a string of cuts to its Daytime offerings.

The brand launched ITV Quiz – a channel dedicated to airing ITV quiz shows including Lingo, Tipping Point, Wheel of Fortune, Tenable, Deal or No Deal and Who Wants To Be A Millionaire. The channel will airs quiz shows every day from 8am to 1am.

Johnny Vegas will be seen getting to grips with his recent ADHD diagnosis in a new Channel 4 two-parter in which he returns to his first love of art.

The comedian, actor and trained potter has signed up to produce a piece of public art for his hometown of St Helens in Merseyside, and the cameras have followed him as he takes on the biggest artistic challenge of his career.

A show source said: “What starts as a creative endeavour turns into a journey of self-discovery when Johnny receives a diagnosis of ADHD. Though the original artistic vision falters, the documentary uncovers a silver lining—an honest and heartfelt conversation about mental health and understanding yourself.”

    Johnny Vegas
The 54-year old TV star felt the time had come to give something back to the world of art he’d left behind(Image: johnnyvegasofficial/instagram)

Johnny, 54, told the Mirror: “I used to sit at a potter’s wheel on stage. People thought it was a gimmick, but I actually started out as a dedicated wannabe ceramicist. Art was my educational saviour.

“Over years of witnessing what felt like an ongoing decline in educational commitment to the very same arts, I felt it was time I threw my hat back into the ring. To kickstart a debate about culture in general, whilst giving something of a visual symbol of gratitude back to my honestly beloved town.”

He revealed that he’d been diagnosed with ADHD in 2023, saying at the time that it “answers a lot of questions about behavioural issues in the past”. He added: “In some respects, you can go back and look at it with regret, but I’ve had a bit of a charmed life, so it’s no regrets,” he said. “I know now, and it helps you make changes, I suppose, as you want to get more responsible later in life. I don’t see it as defining me.”

    Johnny Vegas
Johnny said his ADHD diagnosis made him understand more about himself but didn’t ‘define’ him

Programme-maker Adeel Amini, of Rumpus Media, said that fans would love seeing Johnny returning to his roots. “Johnny tackles art and creativity with his trademark wit and humour, as well as a great deal of honesty and emotion, showing us a brand new side to one of Britain’s best-loved figures.”

C4 specialist factual boss Shaminder Nahal says: “This series brings to life the power of art for everyone – how it can soothe, help, energise and inspire. Beautifully filmed over several years, the series showcases Johnny’s unique humour, heart and passion – uncovering the intricacies and demands of artistic process along the way. It’s an enlightening, eye-opening and emotional journey.”

It is thought that as many as one in 20 UK adults could have the condition, but many cases are unidentified. Other celebrities who have been diagnosed with ADHD in adulthood include presenters Ant McPartlin and Richard Bacon, comedian Rory Bremner and TV presenter Sue Perkins.

Emmerdale spoilers: Robert Sugden return twist, Bear goes missing and cancer news!

Emmerdale spoilers for next week have confirmed new twists ahead on the ITV soap, as Robert Sugden is back again leading to drama with John, while there’s also a disappearance

There’s Robert Sugden’s full-time return to the village next week(Image: ITV)

Viewers can expect a lot of trouble ahead on Emmerdale, as well as sad discoveries and big news.

There’s Robert Sugden’s full-time return to the village next week, leading to drama with love rival and brother John Sugden. There’s also some “emotional” prison scenes prior to his comeback, and it’s also set to get very tense.

Elsewhere a character suffers an angry outburst before going missing, leaving his loved ones concerned amid a new mystery plot. A character’s cancer diagnosis is exposed to a family member, paving the way for upsetting scenes.

There’s villagers at war aplenty too, in what will no doubt be a dramatic week of episode. Kicking things off, Ryan Hawley’s character heads back to the village for good next week, and it could lead to drama.

Aaron Dingle will have a big decision to make as he visits his ex in prison, weeks on from marrying Robert’s brother John. There’s emotional moments as the pair open up to one another, just as there’s concern for Robert as he’s left in a state in prison.

As the pair reunite, amid Robron fans hoping they will give their romance another go after six years apart, Robert wastes no time in sharing how much he loves Aaron. He speaks for the viewers too as he tells Aaron that mysterious John is not the man for him.

Emmerdale spoilers for next week have confirmed new twists ahead on the ITV soap(Image: ITV)

Aaron is in turmoil over the chat, but remains adamant he made the right decision by marrying John. It’s not long before controlling John finds out where his husband has been though and he heads to the prison himself.

Soon tense scenes see feuds boiling over as Robert exposes his recent kiss with Aaron. With that, a rivalry explodes with John prepared to get answers but also issuing his sibling with a sinister warning, making it clear he doesn’t know what he’s capable of.

But killer John may have met his match as Robert knows he’s hiding something and is determined to find out what it is. Robert vows to return to the village, and soon he shows up leaving Aaron and John furious – but where will this lead?

Also next week the beginning of Bear’s mystery plot kicks off with him set to return “a different person” according to bosses. Bear vanishes next week after an outburst, with it revealed he could be gone for weeks if not months.

As Bear leaves his motorbike parts strewn across the place, issues at home with his son Paddy and Paddy’s wife Mandy continue to heat up. As Cain agrees to let him fix his motorbike there he feigns joy, but when alone he erupts into a fury at the bike with it clear something isn’t right.

Bear snaps and even threatens Kammy, leaving Paddy concerned and in despair. He’s dumbfounded though, as is Mandy, when Bear returns later on as if nothing has happened.

Soon, Bear becomes irritated by their questioning and heads away upstairs, leaving Paddy and Mandy to fear things are getting worse. But just as they agree to confront Bear, they are stunned to find him and his bike are gone.

Also next week, Charity Dingle finds out her granddaughter Sarah Sugden as the early stages of cervical cancer. Sarah has been keeping the news from her family amid her plan to continue with IVF.

There’s drama between sisters Vanessa Woodfield and Tracy Robinson too, while Kammy is left frustrates as pal Vinny Dingle gives him the cold shoulder. A final spoiler takes us back to Robert, as it’s hinted he’s facing trauma from his time in prison that threatens to land him in trouble.

  • Strictly has ‘lost its magic’ – but ex-pros reveal how it can be saved after endless scandals!

Strictly has ‘lost its magic’ – but ex-pros reveal how it can be saved after endless scandals!

EXCLUSIVE: Former Strictly professional dancers Brendan Cole, Vincent Simone and Pasha Kovalev give their honest opinion to the Mirror about how BBC bosses can save Strictly Come Dancing at a time of crisis

‘Strictly had a magic and it was very innocent – it’s probably lost a little bit of that,” says Brendan Cole(Image: PA)

Strictly Come Dancing has long been the diamond in the BBC ’s crown ever since it waltzed onto our screens back in 2004. But over the last few years, the beloved show has become more of a thorn in the corporation’s side after having to deal with an endless stream of scandals.

Most recently, Jamie Borthwick – who was partnered with new pro Michelle Tsiakkas last year – was suspended from his 19-year role on EastEnders for using a derogatory term about disabled people. The 30-year-old actor has since apologised, but the incident occurred while he was filming Strictly and used the slur to describe locals in Blackpool.

It came just months after radio presenter Wynne Evans was axed from the Strictly tour, and subsequently let go from the BBC entirely, after he was caught on camera making a ‘spit roast’ remark. At the time, he apologised – though has since claimed he was “horrified” at the way the statement was issued by the BBC.

Yet questions about the future of Strictly were already drawn last year following the bullying probe launched into the behaviour of professional dancers. What followed was a tightening of rules in training sessions and the BBC show having the fewest female celebrities in its 20-year history.

So after everything that’s happened and the changes it has undergone, can the show still be saved?

Beloved pro dancer Vincent Simone – who starred on the BBC show from 2006 until 2012 – tells the Mirror that he would like to see the show stripped back to its original format.

“Back in our day with Bruce [Forsyth], it was a very traditional Ballroom and Latin American show,” Vincent Simone explains. “Now it has developed so much and they’ve introduced so many different styles that me, myself, would be struggling to do like contemporary and all that stuff.

“It didn’t used to have any special effects – it was literally someone handing me over a CD with the music and saying good luck, off you go for next week. It’s a much bigger team now with choreographers, helpers and cameras and so they juice it up a lot more. Sometimes I always feel like it’s nice to strip it back to just two people dancing with the music. Like, really simple. I like that side of it.”

Brendan Cole, Strictly’s legendary ‘bad boy’ pro from 2004 until 2017, admits that he feels the show has lost a little bit of its magic. However, unlike Vincent, doesn’t feel that the show can go back to basics.

Brendan, Vincent and Pasha are joining Ian Waite and James Jordan on tour
“With these big shows, the longer they run, the more bells and whistles,” he says. “Because every year a new producer steps in, they want to make the show their own. When [Strictly] first started there was a magic about it but if you watch that show now, it would probably seem very, very basic and very average compared to what you watch now.
“But of its day, it had a magic and it had a beauty and it was very innocent. It’s probably lost a little bit of that, but I don’t think you could return to that format. I think shows have to improve and have to compete with other shows, otherwise they get left behind.

“Strictly had an amazing 20 something years on television. I don’t think you can compare the start to finish, but what you can do is admire the way the show has been produced over the years, and the fact that it still has a good family sort of value.”

Vincent Simone danced with Rachel Stevens on the BBC show(Image: BBC)

He adds: “So yes, it’s had a couple of it may have had a couple of rocky years, but I don’t think that’s necessarily a bad thing. It’s just time.”

While Pasha Kovalev, who fell in love with his now-wife Rachel Riley while working on the show from 2011 until 2018, says that he misses the original VTs which showed the relationships between the pro and celebrity develop in the training room as opposed to the skits that are filmed now.

“You don’t really speak much on the show,” he says. “You stand next to your celebrity and listen to what the judges say. Those VTs before could show the actual friendship and relationship that develops between the two people on the dance floor in the dance room and you can get your personality across. That’s why everyone loves Vincent now.”

Vincent interjects cheekily: “We had personality back in the day!”

The charismatic trio, who are about to join fellow former pros James Jordan and Ian Waite on their The Return of the Legends tour across the country, still watch the show despite no longer being a part of it and are grateful for the opportunities it gave them.

However, Vincent admits that there was a “hole” in his life when he left the show. “I was content when I left but then there is almost like a clock inside your system so that when it comes to September, you know that the show is about to start. So I felt a bit lost, even though I went on to do another show [I’m A Celebrity].

“But still, every year since then, when it comes to the autumn, there is that sort of hollow feeling about missing out on the show.”

Yet, he says that he wouldn’t ever return as a pro on the show. “When I was asked to go back and choreograph some of the Argentine Tangos and I had to spend time with the celebrity and pro, that’s when I realised no way could I do this again. They are long days and hours in the training room – it’s not easy, what they do.

Brendan Cole and Claire King famously did not get along when paired together in 2006(Image: PA)

“I left at the right time, because the thought of spending every day for eight hours in the studio and chatting to the guy, it’s, it’s draining. You need to be young and free of children or wives and so on. So in a way, that helped me move on from the show.”

While Pasha admits he found it relatively easy to leave the show when he did. “I only did it for eight years, not 15 like Brendan,” he says. “So at that point, I knew that I wanted to do something else. I was ready to move on. It was my decision and I never looked back.I had an amazing time and I met so many wonderful people and who I’m still friends with, and that was enough.”

Brendan admits that he never thought of a life after Strictly as it had consumed his whole life for so long, so the prospect of leaving had been scary. In 2018, Brendan admitted that he was “in shock” and “very disappointed” after learning BBC bosses had axed him from the show.

Pasha Kovalev met his now-wife Rachel Riley on Strictly in 2013(Image: PA)

The 49-year-old, who moved to Mallorca with his wife Zoe Hobbs and their two children after Covid, says: “I must have been asked 1000 times during my time on Strictly, ‘What are you going to do after? What’s next?’ And I never had an answer for that. I was always like, ‘I actually have no idea. I don’t know what will fill that five, six month gap of the year.’It consumes you because it doesn’t just start when you start the show, it starts months before that with thinking about music, ideas, etc.

“I was a little bit sad when it was over because it was such a bit part of my life, but that sadness ended the day I sort of said it out loud and I went, ‘Okay, I’m no longer a Strictly dancer.’ It was hard to say at first initially. But then, as soon I said it, it was like a weight had lifted and I was like, ‘Right, what the hell is next? Let’s go!’

“And I actually had the most incredible year doing the most incredible TV shows and theatre productions. My world changed completely, and it changed for the better. But it’s all thanks to being on Strictly for so many years. Well, not all thanks, but I was very proud of my time on the show. It was a phenomenal 15 series – even the bad ones, the horrible ones I hated, they’re still part of a journey that makes you who you are now.”

Robert Sugden could face danger on Emmerdale if his killer brother John Sugden turns on him, amid their rivalry over Aaron Dingle.

The character makes his permanent return to the ITV soap next week, and now actor Ryan Hawley has teased what could lead to John’s downfall. Ryan also hinted that his character wouldn’t stop until he exposed John and got Aaron back.

But this could leave Robert in serious danger, with him issued a warning next week that “he doesn’t know who he’s messing with”. John makes it clear to Robert that he’s capable of more than he knows, which sparks alarm bells for his brother.

Amid Robert’s plan to win back Aaron despite Aaron marrying John, Robert will set out to expose John for once and for all. But will he uncover the truth about his killer ways and could he regret pushing him?

It seems Robert might not be safe, while Ryan is hopeful his character will be the one to bring John down. Ryan spilled: “I think Robert would want to expose John to Aaron and to everyone.

“He loves his family, maybe he wouldn’t admit it but he loves the village and the community, he’d want to protect that, and going forward I think he does try to reveal John for who he is.” But is this likely to cause him harm?

Ryan teased: “Who knows… there’s lots of motive for John to get rid of Robert. He is a huge inconvenience and an obstacle in relation to Aaron. As much as he hates him he is still family, but what does that say about John and his morales and who he is?

“Would he go as far as to kill his own family? We will have to wait and see.” Ryan’s desperate for Robert to be the hero though, with Robert keen to win back Aaron too.

The actor explained: “I would like Robert to be the one to expose him for who he is, cos everyone hates Robert at the moment. The audience know Robert is trying to do the right thing by stopping Aaron being with this person and he’s not the right person for Aaron.

“I would want him to. But maybe that’s not to be. We’ll wait and see.” He went on of Robert’s dislike for his brother: “I’m not even sure he’s 100 percent sure he’s his brother is he? He said he’s an imposter. It’s quite complicated but there’s a lot more to explore as the story goes on.”

For now it seems Robert fears he’s lost Aaron for good, but a prison visit leaves him hopeful. Then John pays him a visit and it’s clear things are tense. Ryan spills: “John comes to visit Robert and they address the issues of their relationship.

“John comes to speak to Robert and they have it out to some extent and perhaps the setting of the prison means a lot of their feelings towards each other have to be restrained. So it is quite tense scenes which end with Robert vowing to come back to the village and expose John for the man he believes him to be.”

Fern Britton claims ex-husband Phil Vickery didn’t speak to her for two years before marriage split!

‘As soon as my mum died, he stopped talking to me,’ she said

Former This Morning host Fern Britton has claimed that her ex-husband, Phil Vickery, stopped communicating with her following the tragic death of her beloved mum.

The couple tied the knot in the spring of 2000 and remained married for 20 years. In January 2020, they announced they had split. However, according to Fern, it appears things were going south for a while before the official announcement…

After 20 years of marriage, Fern and Phil split in 2020 (Credit: Splashnews.com)

Why did Fern Britton and Phil Vickery split up?

“After more than 20 happy years together, Phil and I have decided to go our separate ways,” Fern shared in a statement.

“We will always share a great friendship and our lovely children. We would appreciate it if our privacy is respected at this time. Thank you for your continued kindness and support.”

Fern has three children from her previous marriage to television executive Clive Jones – twins Harry and Jack and daughter Grace. Phil Vickery acted as a stepfather to them. She also shares daughter Winnie, 23, with Phil.

During a 2020 appearance on Good Morning Britain, Fern said that when both her parents died, her marriage “fell apart”. And, while talking to Woman & Home magazine, Fern insisted they both “needed to follow our own paths”.

However, now she’s revealed more particularly heartbreaking details.

Fern Britton says husband Phil Vickery ‘stopped talking’ to her when her mum died

In a new interview Yours magazine, Fern explained that she and Phil are no longer on speaking terms, and haven’t been for years.

“He hasn’t spoken to me for six years now. As soon as my mum died, he stopped talking to me,” the former Celebrity Big Brother star said. Fern’s mum, Ruth, died in 2018, two years before they announced their divorce.

Fern admitted their daughter, Winnie, “adores” her dad Phil and added: “So I’m not going to bad-mouth him in front of her; at least, I try very hard not to. I was the child of divorced parents and my mum never bad-mouthed my father,” she said.

As Fern continues to promote her new novel, A Cornish Legacy, the TV star insisted she is not looking for sympathy from the public.

“Like many people, I’ve been through divorce so I have an understanding of it. And that made it easier to write about in the new book,” she continued.

ED! has contacted Phil’s reps for comment.

‘I don’t want to ever marry again’

While speaking to Woman & Home last year, Fern confessed she’s not interested in exchanging vows again.

“I don’t want to ever marry again. I don’t ever want to live with anyone again. It’s enough to look after myself and I’ve done enough looking after other people,” she declared.

“I haven’t dated anyone properly for 25 years. It’s been a long time!”

Loose Women viewers furious over boil in the bag funeral debate: ‘What a disgusting lunchtime topic’!

    Fans were turned off!

Fans of Loose Women were completely turned off after the ITV daytime show discussed boil in the bag funerals.

For Tuesday (June 10) afternoon’s show, the talk show welcomed Ruth Langsford, Mariella Frostrup, Kelle Bryan and Janet Street Porter to the panel.

While the programme is known for talking about a variety of hot topics, viewers were not pleased when things took an unexpected turn…

Loose Women discuss ‘boil in the bag’ funerals

Over the past couple of days, news surrounding boil in the bag funerals has been making headlines after they are set to become available in the UK.

If this goes ahead, it means that people will be able to choose if they want to be boiled and flushed down the drain instead of cremated or buried when they die.

“Saying goodbye to your loved ones usually involves a burial or a cremation, but a new method – boil in the bag funerals – could soon be made available across the UK,” Ruth explained to viewers.

“It’s actually called water cremation. It involves decomposing the body in water and alkaline chemicals, and that leaves behind only liquid and bones. The liquid can go down the drain, and into the sewage system as wastewater, while the bones are left and ground to ash.”

She continued: “Some people say that it’s more eco-friendly, while others say it sounds horribly undignified.”

Mariella was against the idea, stating that the rivers and seas are already polluted enough. “I don’t really know if I want to add my body or anybody else’s to it,” she shared.

On the other hand, Janet was “100% in favour”.

    ‘Quickly changes channel’

Discussing the topic at lunchtime, viewers were grossed out and took to X, formerly Twitter, to immediately complain.

“@loosewomen Just saying, as you are a lunchtime programme, should you be discussing boil in the bag funerals? It certainly put me off my lunch! Being flushed down the loo don’t really appeal to me. #LooseWomen #boilinthebagfuneral,” one user wrote.

“Just turned the TV on during my lunch break at work …bloody hell …what a disgusting lunchtime topic!! **quickly changes channel** #loosewomen,” another shared.

“I couldn’t give a [bleep] what happens to me once I’m dead. I’m not going to know,” a third expressed.

‘There’s life in these old girls yet’

As the show continues to make front page news, Denise Welch cleared up rumours that the cast don’t get along on the Loose Women podcast last month.

“If we didn’t have discussions and debate, it would be a very boring show. Some people are closer than others. We all have geographic boundaries as well; we don’t all just live in London all of the time. I’m very proud to be a part of it!” she said.

She also praised ITV and Loose Women’s ability to represent women of all ages.

“What other show not only employs older women [but] reveres and celebrates the voices of older women? There’s life in these old girls yet,” Denise Welch added.

Helen Skelton ‘very lucky’ with Morning Live co-star friendships

In a new interview with Hello, Helen, 41, said she and the Morning Live mainstay presenters, Gethin Jones and Michelle Ackerley, are close off camera.

“I’ve done this job for a long time and I feel very lucky that every now and again you land on a group of people and a crew that really clicks,” she explained.

“Michelle [Ackerley] and Gethin [Jones] and I have all been friends for years and years. Gethin and I crossed over a lot at Blue Peter, so we’ve got a lot of the same reference points,” Helen added.

The mum-of-three revealed that she and Michelle “used to flat share back in London”, stating they have “natural chemistry” because they have known each other since they began their television careers.

“If you have to go to work and you like what you do and you do it with people that are like an extension of your family, then you’re very lucky and I definitely feel like that at Morning Live,” she continued.

Is Gethin Jones in a relationship with Helen Skelton?

Despite knowing each other for many years, Gethin and Helen have never confirmed if they are in a relationship.

However, according to inside sources, the pair could be more than just good friends.

“Helen and Gethin have an extremely close working relationship and there’s a feeling in recent months their friendship has blossomed into a deeper connection,” a TV insider alleged to the MailOnline.

“They’re both keen to keep a lid on it to avoid public scrutiny but there’s no denying their closeness both on and off screen.”

While both Gethin and Helen have remained tight lipped about the headlines, there have been several signs that they might be a couple.

“One concession to his health and advancing years that has been made, however, is that it appears unlikely he will ever move from Clarence House to Buckingham Palace after the restoration is completed in three years’ time,” royal editor Camilla Tominey wrote in The Telegraph.

“Although it will remain the household’s office for the rest of his reign.”

Buckingham Palace, which boasts 775 rooms, has long been seen as the heart of the monarchy.

Although it will remain the household’s office for the rest of his reign.

Queen Elizabeth II made it her primary residence throughout her reign. However, King Charles has expressed a preference for a more manageable and modern living arrangement.

“I know he is no fan of ‘the big house,’ as he calls the palace,” a friend of the king reportedly told The Times in 2022. “He doesn’t see it as a viable future home or a house that’s fit for purpose in the modern world.”

The extensive restoration works at Buckingham Palace have already led to significant operational changes.

All state visits will now be hosted at Windsor Castle until 2027.

‘Camilla doesn’t want to live at Buckingham Palace’

As Buckingham Palace undergoes major renovations, King Charles has reportedly moved his office to the Belgian Suite in the west-facing Garden Wing. This includes the Orleans Room, where he was born in 1948.

A palace insider noted the symbolic significance to The Times: “The king will enjoy the symmetry of discharging his duties as monarch in the room where he was born.”

The monarch is said to be personally paying for the redecoration of his future private suite in the north wing. It will not be ready for use until renovations finish in 2027.

“He is mindful that the public purse should not pay for personal touches,” a source confirmed to The Times.

Meanwhile, royal aides claim both Charles and Camilla are “very comfortable” at Clarence House and have no intention of leaving.

“It is certainly true that Camilla doesn’t want to live at Buckingham Palace,” the source noted.

It’s not just the king and queen who question the palace’s suitability for modern living. According to The Times, Prince William also believes Buckingham Palace is not well suited for a contemporary royal family lifestyle.

Initial plans suggested Charles and Camilla would move into the palace once works were complete.

However, insiders have clarified that any updates to their prospective living quarters are only for “potential residential occupation,” not a confirmed move.

Correspondent had also needed medical attention

AGood Morning Britain correspondent was cut off during a live report from the US on today’s programme by co-host Ranvir Singh.

Noel Phillips had appeared earlier on Wednesday’s show to detail how he had been hit with a rubber bullet the previous morning while covering the response to unrest in Los Angeles.

President Trump has sent National Guard troops into the Californian city to quell protests relating to immigration arrests. But as Noel shared the latest updates concerning standoffs following raids just after 8am, his GMB segment was quickly shut down.

What happened on Good Morning Britain today?

That’s because explicit language could be heard in the background of Noel’s TV report.

But within moments of the bad language – believed to be from nearby protestors – making air, Ranvir revealed why the broadcast was halted.

Ranvir reacted: “I’m just going to interrupt that… I think we could hear some profanities being spoken.”

I think we could hear some profanities being spoken.

She continued: “That’s my understanding of what’s going on there near Noel. And we can’t really broadcast that at quarter past eight in the morning. We’re going to try to get back to him.”

A couple of hours beforehand, Noel told Susanna Reid and Richard Madeley that he had required medical treatment after he’d found himself “in the line of fire”.

He explained: “Just ten minutes before coming on air yesterday, I was on the floor talking to several protesters. I was on the floor because it was the best place to be, given the fact that the situation around us was so volatile. Officers were obviously chasing protestors on the streets.

“As I was laying on the floor, I felt as though an enormous ton of bricks had fallen on my arm. I realised, within about 20 to 30 seconds, that a rubber bullet had grazed the top layer of my skin and had caused a bit of injury.”

Noel went on: “My arm was swollen, I went to the doctors, got it checked out. It wasn’t broken at all. But it was swollen. It still is swollen. And it’s in a bandage at the moment.”

    ‘I hope he’s okay’

Worried social media users took to X to share their opinions on what they’d just seen on screen. Many also expressed concern for Noel’s wellbeing.

“Poor Noel. I hope he’s okay,” one wrote.

A second viewer posted: “That’s proper dangerous stuff. Hope Noel’s alright. No one should have to dodge rubber bullets just for doing their job.”

And a third person chipped in: “I’d definitely consider wearing full riot gear if I was reporting in the middle of that.”
