Coronation Street Lisa’s true intentions for ‘corrupt’ Kit as star teases drama ahead!

Coronation Street actress Vicky Myers has addressed her character Lisa Swain’s real feelings about colleague and dodgy detective Kit Green after recent clashes, with drama ahead

There’s plenty more drama on the way for Coronation Street detectives Lisa Swain and Kit Green.

The pair have constantly clashed over the past few months, with Kit’s dodgy policing not exactly going down well with colleague Lisa too. But it’s been teased they could come to an understanding, and the loss of their fellow officer Craig Tinker, who was murdered, could see Lisa be more “protective” of Kit.

Actress Vicky Myers spoke exclusively to The Mirror about what’s ahead, addressing the pair’s relationship and likening it to siblings bickering. She confessed underneath it all, Lisa did care for Kit and the pair were similar, with this being why they likely clash on the job.

With fans often slamming “corrupt” detective Kit for his secret crimes and wrong ways of handling things, Vicky told us that Lisa was keen to “put Kit in line” when needed.

She revealed: “I think there’s definitely more drama ahead between them. But I think after what has happened with Tinker, Lisa really feels like she is this protector.

“She sees something in Kit that reminds her of herself but equally, she frustrates him and he does her. She knows not everything he does is above board and it doesn’t sit well with her.”

Vicky went on of them both having done things they shouldn’t in the past: “He has something on her so it all get a little bit conflicted, but underneath it all she sees him very much as a younger brother that needs putting in line every now and again.” So there’s definitely more scenes on the way for Kit and Lisa, with episodes this week certainly leaving fans wanting more.

We also asked Vicky about the looming 65th anniversary for the ITV soap, and that crossover with Emmerdale. She shared: “I’m very excited, for the crossover in particular.

“I am surprised that it’s not been done sooner or before at all. The whole thought of it is exciting. What’s gonna happen I don’t know exactly. I don’t know the story or where it will be.

“There’s lots of unanswered questions but the fact it’s happening, for the cast, the crew and the viewers it is gonna be spectacular. It’s been a long time coming. What a year to celebrate that with it being our 65th!”

We also got the lowdown on all things Swarla, with Vicky hoping for more scenes between Lisa and Carla with their “extended family” and in their community. She felt “privileged” to be part of something that people could see themselves in and relate to.

She said: “It’s very much part of the community, it’s great that people can see themselves and see their family on TV. It represents them and they can relate to them and everything they have to navigate. I’m so pleased to have been able to show that. What a privilege it is that I am a part of that.”

  • Prince Harry and Meghan ‘sent message from royals with bold Trooping the Colour move’!

Prince Harry and Meghan ‘sent message from royals with bold Trooping the Colour move’!

After Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s last Trooping appearance in 2019, the royal family at large decided to send a message to the Sussexes as a response to them quitting their royal duties

The royal family sent a “significant message” to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle ahead of the annual Trooping the Colour in years past, according to a royal expert, resulting in their noticeable absence on the Buckingham Palace balcony.

Harry and Meghan last attended the monarch’s birthday celebrations in 2019, appearing on the Buckingham Palace balcony alongside other senior royals just one month after their eldest child Archie was born. In 2020, Harry and Meghan famously quit their royal duties and started a new life in California. After they relocated to Montecito, the 2020 and 2021 Trooping the Colour celebrations were stripped back due to Covid restrictions.

When the grand procession returned for 2022, Harry and Meghan were noticeably missing from the balcony line up. The following year, Prince Harry shared that “for the first time in his life”, he was not invited to attend Trooping the Colour , with only senior working royals appearing at the Palace.

The Daily Mail’s Richard Eden said in a television appearance in 2023 :“[This is] the first year of his life that Harry hasn’t been invited at all. With Harry and Meghan, we’ve always had a sort of ‘will they, won’t they’ before every big royal occasion. Well, it seems like the palace has tackled this this time by just not inviting them at all. So, you know, it’s significant.”

According to the royal expert, the royal family wished to present a united front, even after Harry and Meghan moved to America, and hoped they would still attend some of the biggest events in the royal calendar.

As Richard Eden clarified: “When Harry and Meghan quit royal duties, I think officials were very keen to stress that they would still be invited to occasions such as Trooping the Colour so the fact they haven’t been invited is very significant.”

With the 2025 Trooping the Colour merely hours away, it is the belief of many royal experts and fans alike that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle won’t be attending this year’s celebration.

It has not been confirmed as yet by Buckingham Palace which royals will appear on the balcony for the RAF flypast, but it’s expected that only working royals will be in attendance in keeping with the tradition of the last two years, which would rule Harry and Meghan out.

The annual event of Trooping the Colour has marked the official birthday of the King or Queen for more than 260 years. The ceremony involves hundreds of horses and soldiers carrying out complex battlefield drill manoeuvres to military music. More than 1,400 soldiers, 200 horses and 400 musicians come together for the impressive display.

Prince Harry’s ‘biggest hint’ of return to royal fold leaves critics ‘utterly bewildered’!

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, Duke and Duchess of Sussex, gave up public royal duties five years ago and much of what they have said and done since has shocked sources close to The Firm

A fresh indication Prince Harry and Meghan Markle could return to the public duties – the “biggest hint yet” – has reportedly left royal sources “utterly bewildered”.

Much of what the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have said and done since they quit public duties five years ago is said to have astonished members of the Royal Household. These include their accusations of racism against unnamed members of the family and Meghan’s recent posting of a video which showed her “twerking” in the maternity ward before the birth of Lillibet.

Now sources close to the Sussexes have disclosed details about passport applications for both Prince Archie, six, and four-year-old Princess Lilibet. It is thought the applications include the titles HRH (His /Her Royal Highness) as well as the surname Sussex, and this is reportedly because Harry and Meghan want their kids to decide for themselves whether they want to become working royals, or stay out of public life when they get older.

This has been seen by some insiders as “the biggest hint” the Duke and Duchess may want to return to The Firm. Richard Eden, a royal reporter with the Daily Mail, writes in today’s edition: “The suggestion gives the biggest hint yet that they’re hoping to mend fences.

“And it raises the question: Could the Sussexes, who chose to give up boring old public duties to seek their fortune in the US, stage a return to the royal fold via their children?”

The original revelation was reported in The Guardian last week. The newspaper read: “The Guardian understands that Prince Harry wants to keep the HRH titles for his children so that when they grow older they can decide for themselves whether they want to become working royals, or stay out of public life.”

Insiders have reacted with shock and scepticism, following Harry and Meghan’s exploits and bombshells since moving to the US. Mr Eden writes: “‘I find this very hard to understand,’ one royal source told me this week… ‘Harry and Meghan apparently found official duties and life within the Royal Family unbearable, yet they want this for their children. It doesn’t make sense.’

“It’s true that the Sussexes have devoted much time and energy to publicising their unhappiness with royal life. It’s hard to forget Harry’s grin on a video as he described their ‘freedom flight’ to Los Angeles when they began their American adventure in 2020.”

Meghan last week spoke about possibly running a company with her daughter, Lilibet, in the future. However, a source recently told PEOPLE that Meghan is focused on the future and is “very business about it” while Harry reportedly has “one foot in the past”.

Back in 2023, following the release of his controversial autobiography, Spare, Harry sat down for an interview with Good Morning America.

During the interview, the Duke of Sussex, 40, was asked whether he would ever return to life as a working royal.

However, the duke didn’t have high hopes for a return, confessing he didn’t think “it’s ever going to be possible”.

Continuing, Harry said: “Even if there was an agreement, or an arrangement between me and my family, there is that third party that is going to do everything they can to make sure that isn’t possible.

“Not stopping us going back, but making it unsurvivable.”

The third party the duke was seemingly hinting at was the media and/or competing royal press offices. However, he didn’t confirm.

Harry continued at the time, claiming that his late mother, Princess Diana, would be “heartbroken” by the rift between himself and Prince William.

He also claimed that the late Queen Elizabeth II hadn’t been angry with him for stepping back from working royal life.

“She knew what was going on. She knew how hard it was,” he said.

Harry added: “She never said to me that she was angry. I think she was sad it had got to that point.”

Speaking about the royal family, he said: “I can’t ever get out [of it] and I’m incredibly aware of my position. I’m incredibly grateful for the life that I’ve had and continue to live. But there’s no version of me being ever able to get out of this.”

Queen Elizabeth was left ‘fearing for disaster’ after Sussexes’ royal exit

Harry has previously claimed that the queen wasn’t angry that he’d quit life as a working royal. However, according to one royal source, the late monarch was left fearing for “disaster” following Harry and Meghan’s decision to quit working royal life.

In their statement when they made the momentous decision, the Sussexes said they would “continue to collaborate with Her Majesty The Queen, The Prince of Wales, The Duke of Cambridge and all relevant parties”.

The use of the word “collaborate” reportedly set alarm bells ringing in the palace, however.

“No one ‘collaborates’ with the Queen. This is not one of those ‘Kate Moss Top Shop tie-ups’,” a source told the Daily Mail.

“This is exactly why Queen Elizabeth knew this whole half-in, half-out version of royalty they were lobbying for was never, ever going to work,” they continued.

“Harry and Meghan were a law unto themselves from the start, pushing and pushing the envelope to their own professional and financial advantage. Her Late Majesty was nobody’s fool and knew that the chances were, it would all end in disaster.”

Royal Insider contacted Buckingham Palace and the Sussexes’ representatives for comment on that story.

  • Trooping the Colour: Royal family’s ‘significant message’ to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle!

Trooping the Colour: Royal family’s ‘significant message’ to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle!

The couple made their last Trooping the Colour appearance in 2022

The royal family seemingly delivered a “very significant” message to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle regarding their place within the monarchy, and it came through a noticeable absence from one of the most iconic royal traditions: Trooping the Colour.

The annual parade is held every June to mark the monarch’s official birthday.

It features over 1,400 parading soldiers, 400 musicians, and 200 horses, with the royal family making a highly anticipated appearance on the Buckingham Palace balcony for the Royal Air Force flypast.

This year’s event falls on Saturday, June 14. But once again, it appears that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be missing from the guest list.

Have Harry and Meghan Markle been snubbed for Trooping the Colour?

In 2023, for the first time in his life, Prince Harry reportedly didn’t receive an invite to attend Trooping the Colour. Royal commentator Richard Eden called this shift “very significant”.

“It’s significant, when Harry and Meghan quit royal duties, officials were very keen to stress that they would still be invited to occasions such as Trooping the Colour,” Richard said for the MailOnline‘s Palace Confidential in 2023.

“So the fact that they haven’t been invited is very significant.”

Prince Harry and Meghan officially stepped down as working royals in 2020.

While the palace initially suggested they would still be welcomed at ceremonial occasions, Trooping the Colour 2023 marked a clear change in tone. 2024 and now 2025 appear to continue that precedent.

No official confirmation has been made regarding who will appear on the balcony for the RAF flypast.

However, it seems only working royals will appear on the balcony, effectively ruling out Harry and Meghan.

Have the Sussexes attended Trooping the Colour?

Harry and Meghan’s last Trooping the Colour appearance as working royals came in 2019, shortly before stepping back from their duties.

They attended Queen Elizabeth II’s final Trooping the Colour in 2022 to celebrate her platinum jubilee. However, the couple did not appear alongside other royals on the Buckingham Palace balcony.

Harry and Meghan first met on a blind date in 2016. They married in St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle in 2018. The couple now share two children: Prince Archie, six, and Princess Lilibet, four.

While their Netflix docuseries Harry & Meghan and public appearances have kept them in the spotlight, it’s increasingly clear that formal royal events are no longer part of their orbit.

So the fact that they haven’t been invited is very significant.

The royal family’s decision to draw a firm line at Trooping the Colour appears to reflect that.

Royal watchers note that King Charles’ vision for a “slimmed-down monarchy” is now taking shape.

David has been tipped to receive a knighthood

David Beckham couldn’t hide his excitement after a meeting with King Charles just days before the monarch’s official birthday honours list is set to be released, with David widely tipped to receive a knighthood.

The former footballer turned philanthropist, 50, was photographed sharing a candid laugh with the king at The King’s Foundation Awards on Thursday (June 12) held at St James’s Palace.

David became an ambassador for the foundation last year. In photos from the event, he donned a tailored suit featuring his OBE badge.

“Great to spend time at the @kingsfdn awards meeting inspiring people who are transforming lives through initiatives in environmental education, traditional heritage crafts and sustainable architecture,” David wrote in a heartfelt Instagram post after the event. “Congratulations to all the winners.”

The King’s Foundation responded, commenting: “Thanks so much for joining us today and presenting an award.”

Speculation has reached an all-time high after BBC Sport reported that David will be granted a knighthood in King Charles’ 2025 birthday honours list.

If confirmed, the honour would formally elevate the former England captain to Sir David Beckham. Meanwhile, his wife, Victoria Beckham, could receive the courtesy title Lady Beckham.

David Beckham set for big honour

David is reportedly being recognised not only for his legendary football career, but also for his extensive charitable contributions.

The former football star has worked with charities including UNICEF.

The bond between the Beckhams and the royal family runs deep. He and Victoria famously attended the royal weddings of both Prince William and Prince Harry.

I’ve always been keen to help young people expand their horizons.

David has remained a firm supporter of the royals over the years.

His recent ambassadorship for The King’s Foundation focuses on giving young people greater access to nature, education and vocational skills.

“I’ve always been keen to help young people expand their horizons,” David said upon taking on the role. “I’m particularly looking forward to supporting the Foundation’s education programmes and its efforts to ensure young people have greater access to nature.”

    The King’s Foundation Awards

David Beckham wasn’t the only big name at the awards evening. The glitzy guest list included Oscar-winning actresses Meryl Streep and Kate Winslet, TV personality Penny Lancaster, and gardening legend Alan Titchmarsh.

The event was held in a red and gold room inside St James’s Palace.

In photos shared to his Instagram, David was seen posing proudly beside the king, presenting an award and sharing smiles with Streep and Winslet.

While David’s public life continues to soar, reports have emerged of tension within the Beckham family, particularly involving his eldest son, Brooklyn Beckham.

Brooklyn, married to actress Nicola Peltz-Beckham, was notably absent from recent family birthday celebration.

He also did not post any social media tributes to his parents, unlike his brothers Romeo and Cruz.

The family has not publicly addressed the alleged rift.

However, insiders suggest that a knighthood announcement could bring renewed focus on David’s role as both a global icon and family man.

This Morning fans hit out at Alison Hammond over awkward blunder: ‘Time for her to go’!

She and Dermot had been giddy over chat

This Morning star Alison Hammond appeared to be starstruck as she interviewed singer Josh Groban on the show today.

Presenter Alison was beaming as she introduced the five-time Grammy-nominated singer, songwriter and actor into the studio on Friday (June 13).

“How excited are we?” giddy co-host Dermot O’Leary asked her ahead of their chat, to which Alison joked: “I’m just going to try and style it out. It’s only Josh, know what I mean?”

But while Alison pretended to play it cool ahead of the interview with the You Raise Me Up hitmaker, some viewers at home criticised her for her on screen conduct.

“Josh Grow Bag? #ThisMorning,” one viewer pondered.

While another also onlooker also sniffed, as they accompanied their words with a gardening image: “Who, Alison?”

However, the social media reaction to Josh’s appearance wasn’t just limited to Alison’s detractors.

Other X users made it clear they were delighted to see him on their screens as part of Friday’s daytime TV episode.

“Lurve a bit of Josh #ThisMorning,” one fan gushed.

Another echoed that thought: “Lurve Josh Groban #ThisMorning.”

She ‘knew she was in for a rough ride’

Reality star Vicky Pattison has opened up about her “terrifying” experience of “crippling” anxiety and insomnia amid her latest health update.

Vicky, 37, shared on Instagram how a bout of premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD) affects her wellbeing and mental health. She also illustrated how the condition affects her with a video montage of symptoms and emotional lows she suffers.

Shocked followers were quick to offer their sympathies as brave Vicky went on fans she wanted anyone else who lives with PMDD that they are “not alone”.

Ex Geordie Shore cast member Vicky also revealed how bloated her stomach gets when she is in pain.

The clip also displayed a range of reactions from Vicky, including tears, lethargy, and high energy dancing.

She explained in her post’s caption: “It’s always a bit of a mixed bag with my PMDD. Some months aren’t so bad and I feel hopeful. And other months it just completely takes me out and I feel hopeless. Usually there’s no real rhyme or reason.

It just completely takes me out and I feel hopeless.

“But last month I knew I was in for a bit of a rough ride. I hadn’t done anything that I know helps alleviate my symptoms. I hadn’t been consistent with my supplements, my diet was atrocious and my schedule was just unrelenting. So I went into my luteal phase not really standing a chance. But despite my concerns, nothing could have prepared me. It was terrifying.”

‘The fog, the darkness and the depression will pass’

Vicky also related how low she’d been left feeling recently.

“I rang my sister and told her that I didn’t know what I was going to do. That I genuinely didn’t know what I was capable of,” she told fans.

“And after a week of crippling anxiety, insomnia, my inner critic finding fault at every turn & dark thoughts…I know I meant it.”

Vicky continued: “And that’s the thing with PMDD. One week you’re this bright, shiny, brilliant woman who is strong, smart and ready for anything life throws at you. And then PMDD fog sets in and your brain convinces you that you’re worthless.”

Nonetheless, she maintained: “I’m telling this story, not for sympathy, but because I know I’m not alone. I want anyone dealing with PMDD, anyone feeling the things I did last month to know that you are not alone and regardless of what your brain is telling you – you are an incredible person and world is better for having you in it.

“The fog, the darkness and the depression will pass and in its place will be beautiful moments, happiness, success, pure unfiltered joy! You are a warrior. You are powerful. And you are unstoppable.”

What day is Trooping the Colour 2025?

Trooping the Colour will take place tomorrow (Saturday, June 14). It traditionally takes place on the second Saturday of June each year.

The parade marks the official birthday of the monarch.

How long will Trooping the Colour last?

It begins at 10am (BST) with the Horse Guards Parade and will conclude early afternoon with the RAF flypast.

Which royals will be on the balcony?

As has been the case in the last couple of years, only working royals and their children will likely be on the balcony during Saturday’s Trooping the Colour.

That means royals like Prince Andrew, Princess Eugenie, Princess Beatrice, Prince Harry, Peter Phillips and Zara Tindall will all be absent.

So, which royals will be there?

Well, the main royals who will be on the balcony are King Charles and Queen Camilla. Trooping the Colour is the king’s official Birthday Parade, so it would be strange if he wasn’t there!

The king and queen will likely be joined by the heir to throne, Prince William, along with his wife, Kate, Princess of Wales. Their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis could also attend as we have seen them on the balcony for the past few years.

Working royals on the balcony in Trooping the Colour 2025

Speaking to HELLO! magazine, a royal insider revealed why it’s important having the royal kids present. Prince Louis’ antics over the past few years have made him a royal fan favourite, so having someone who can make the fans smile is important.

“Everyone loves a bit of positive news,” they said. “And if the family can brighten up people’s days, that’s worth doing.”

Prince Edward and Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, will also likely be present on the balcony. However, it’s unknown whether their children, James, Earl of Wessex, and Lady Louise Windsor, will be. Lady Louise was present last year; however, James wasn’t due to exams.

We could also see Princess Anne and her husband, Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence, on the balcony.

According to reports, a number of lesser-known, working royals will also be present. These include the late Queen Elizabeth II’s first cousin, Prince Richard, Duke of Gloucester, and his wife, Birgitte, the Duchess of Gloucester.

Prince Edward, the Duke of Kent, the late queen’s cousin, will also reportedly be watching the flypast on the balcony.

However, confirmation on who will appear on the balcony hasn’t been officially confirmed so we’ll have to wait and see!

Slimmed down number of royals on the balcony

It might seem like it’ll be a crowded balcony tomorrow; however, it’ll feature far fewer royals than during the days of Queen Elizabeth II’s reign.

The late queen tended to invite members of the extended royal family onto the balcony, including those who did not act as working royals.

These included the likes of Zara Tindall and Mike Tindall, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, and Peter Phillips, to name but a few.
