Usher revealed that he and longtime music rival Justin Timberlake fought over who could sign Justin Bieber to their label first.

“When you are at the top of your game, some of the greatest things will be presented to you, and it was, I think, right after [my album] ‘Confessions’ that I was introduced to Justin Bieber and Scooter Braun,” the “DJ Got Us Fallin’ In Love” hitmaker told People Magazine.

Everybody knows how the story ends: Bieber signed to Usher’s joint record label with celebrity manager Scooter Braun, Raymond Braun Media Group in 2008.

However, before that happened the R&B icon revealed that what happened behind the scenes was not as smooth sailing because Timberlake wanted his slice of the cake as well.

“[…] It was a bit of a bidding war between me and Justin Timberlake,” he added.

Netizens could not help but scoff at the singer’s revelation; many claimed to already know the “bidding war” and chalked it up to Usher and the *NSYC alum’s feud.

“I thought we all knew this. Like this is old news,” one wrote.

“Legit everyone knew this back in the day.”

Usher, Justin Timberlake’s Feud

According to The Ringer, Usher and Timberlake’s rivalry stemmed from releasing music and becoming kings of the airwaves around the same time.

They do, however, have their distinct differences; Timberlake was crowned as the “Prince of Pop,” while Usher is considered one of the most influential R&B singers in the early 2000s.

They are both singers and songwriters, with a keen eye for spotting rising stars, like the “Baby” hitmaker, who was making waves on YouTube for uploading song covers.

Justin Bieber Doesn’t Join Usher’s Super Bowl Halftime Show

Elsewhere in the interview, Usher explained how he was able to convince Bieber to sign under his label instead of Timberlake’s.

“I was like, ‘I’m not certain that I could understand each and every producer that this artist could benefit from, but what I can tell you is, I’m going to give you my passion, and I’m going to give you every bit of what I have to offer,’” the singer said.

“I am motivated by people like Justin. I think that he is an amazing performer, and I think that he has a legacy that should be respected and not compared to anybody else.”

Meanwhile, Usher invited Bieber to perform alongside him as a special guest at his Super Bowl Halftime show, but the singer declined.

Usher explained how Bieber “just [wants] to tell a different story right now,” and how he respected his pal’s decision.

Hailey Bieber paid a loving homage to her husband Justin on his 30th birthday, after her father Stephen Baldwin’s request for followers to offer prayers for the couple. She called him her “forever love,” which ought to stop people from speculating if she and Justin Bieber are still okay as a married couple.

On Friday, the 27-year-old model celebrated the musician’s birthday by sharing a carousel of pictures and videos of herself with the “Peaches” hitmaker on Instagram.

“30!!!!!!!????!!????!!! that was fast. words could never truly describe the beauty of who you are. Happy Birthday to you… love of my life, for life,” Hailey wrote in the caption.

The creator of Rhode Beauty opened her presentation with a couple kissing in a black-and-white video.

Along with the two-time Grammy Award winner as a small child, Hailey also posted a flashback photo of herself and Bieber cuddling on a yacht. In one photo, the couple could be seen kissing while on a boat, and in a close-up, they were seen kissing passionately once again.

The Elle cover actress paid homage to her hubby on her birthday, following her father Stephen Baldwin’s sharing of a clip from Victor Marx, the founder of All Things Possible Ministries, which caused followers to express fears for the marriage.

Concerns about the couple’s relationship were initially raised by Hailey’s father, Stephen Baldwin, who urged fans to offer prayers for their well-being in an Instagram post.

Several days later, Hailey, 27, posted a carousel of images and videos with Justin Bieber to celebrate his special day.

Fans pointed out that his wedding band was noticeably absent in a monochromatic video showing Justin tenderly holding Hailey’s face and planting a kiss on her.

He shared a heartfelt embrace with Hailey, relishing the moment without the presence of any rings while showering her with affection in another picture of them on a boat.

A curious fan inquired about the “Peaches” singer’s missing wedding ring, “What’s the deal with Justin not wearing his wedding ring?”

Meanwhile, another individual chimed in, declaring, ” I would never be with a man who made me look like a fool in front of the public who doesn’t wear his ring.”

A third fan noted that the singer also didn’t even engage with Hailey’s Instagram post by liking or commenting on it.

On Instagram, Lead Pastor Chelsea Smith of Churchome shared a rather ominous post about betrayal, marriage, and wedding vows. (via The Sun)

“When Judah and I stood facing each other 24 years ago, saying these words to each other, it was hard to imagine all the seasons of life we would experience together between 21 years old and death,” she said in the post. “Here’s the dirty little secret nobody told me. There are seasons where you don’t necessarily ‘feel the love’. Seasons of grief, change, children, or just random funks. If you plan for ’til death do us part’, what is your plan for those seasons?”

The post came on the heels of Justin and Hailey’s marriage being the center of attention as rumors intensified between the power couple.

“My plan is making sure I know how to receive the unconditional, perfect, love of God so that I still have something filling me up in a healthy way during those seasons (and yes there’s still Netflix and ice cream),” she added. “The best part is that I don’t need to wait for a rough season to receive Gods love! I can start now and be as prepared as possible for every season to come!”

 

 

It is not known what Smith’s post was about but the outlet speculated that it might be linked with the couple’s reported fallout.

Hailey Bieber Pissed At Father For Asking Prayers For Her Marriage

Last week, Christian influencer Victor Marx posted a video that asks people to pray for Justin and Hailey. Her father, Stephen Baldwin, shared it, which surprised fans. (via HuffPost)

“Christians, please when you think of Justin & Hailey, take a moment to offer a little prayer for them to have wisdom, protection, and to draw close to the Lord,” the caption on the now-deleted video that Stephen had shared read.

The influencer Victor Marx, who posted the original video, noted that he, his wife, and Hailey’s mother, Kennya Baldwin, “often pray together” for the betterment of Justin and Hailey.

“There are special challenges that folks in high visibility positions face and also the enemy doesn’t want them to draw closer to Jesus,” he suggested in the caption. “So often regardless of the material things or the accolades they often face spiritual warfare that intense and seeks to ship-wreck their faith , marriage and life in general. So thank you.”

TMZ reported that Bieber was “pissed” at her father for sharing such a post. As of this writing, the two have not publicly dismissed any questions about their marriage.

New York fans certainly should be excited about the club’s newest slugger

New York is considered one of the top clubs in the American League and could end up competing for a World Series title. One of the biggest reasons why certainly was the addition of superstar slugger Juan Soto.

Soto is sure to help the club out in a major way and The Athletic’s Jim Bowden even predicted that he will end up winning the American League Most Valuable Player.

“I considered picking his teammate Aaron Judge, the (Seattle Mariners’) Julio Yarnel Rodríguez, or the (Texas Rangers’) Corey Seager but went with Soto, who I think will have the best year of his career because he’ll hit in front of (or behind) Judge, he’ll benefit from hitting in the confines of Yankee Stadium, and he’ll be playing for a free-agent contract at the breakout age of 25,” Bowden said.

“My favorite long shot is Royce Lewis, who demonstrated down the stretch last season why he was the first-overall pick in 2017, showing his MVP-caliber talent by finishing with 15 home runs in only 217 at-bats and a .372 on-base percentage.”

Soto is one of the best players in baseball and now will be able to hit in Yankee Stadium which only should make him look better.

The Yankees will have a lot more to think about than accolades at the end of the season, but members of the club already are being mentioned as candidates for prestigious awards.

The highs are high, but the possible lows…?

Yankee fans have a preternatural tendency to assume their team will contend for, and probably win, the World Series. Giving them Juan Soto, even on a short-term rental, feeds that assumption. Any analysis of Yankee chances for 2024 has to begin by understanding that mindset.

Yankees’ Best-Case Scenario for 2024

Clearly the Yankees have enough talent to make World Series dreams plausible. Begin with Gerrit Cole, the game’s best pitcher right now. In 2023, the reigning AL Cy Young Award winner was 15-4 with a 2.62 ERA in 33 starts encompassing 209 innings of work.

The offense begins with the outfield sluggers, Soto and Aaron Judge. In two-thirds of a season, Judge hit 37 home runs with 75 RBI. Soto, who played all 162 for San Diego, hit 35 homers with 109 RBI. Gleyber Torres produced an .800 OPS, better than anybody on the team except Judge. The Yanks also added Alex Verdugo, joining a supporting cast that includes veterans of the stripe of Giancarlo Stanton, Anthony Rizzo and DJ LeMahieu.

Stanton’s is the key name here. All the reports out of camp are that he’s in the best shape of his life and ready to deliver as he did as recently as 2021, when he produced an .870 OPS. That level of Stanton would be a capital boost for the Yankees.

Beyond Cole, the Yanks plan to use a buffet of veteran starters who’ve done it … sometimes. Marcus Stroman was great for half a season with the Cubs last year, Carlos Rodón was sensational with the Giants in 2022, and Nestor Cortes was nasty as a Yankee starter, also in 2022.

If it all works – particularly if Stanton, Stroman, Cortes and Rodón all return to previous form – then yes, this Yankee team can make dreams come true. That’s not to say the Yanks are better than the Orioles – they’re not – but they’re good enough to snag a wild card spot. And, as has been frequently demonstrated from there, anything’s possible.

Yankees’ Worst-Case Scenario for 2024

Cole, Judge and Soto may be three of the surest bets in sports (if healthy), but beyond that, the potential pitfalls to a successful 2024 in the Bronx are numerous. As noted above, save for Cole, virtually every likely rotation starter is coming off either a bad 2023 (Rodón), a bad second half of 2023 (Stroman) or virtually no 2023 at all (Cortes). Who’s to say any of those guys return to form?

It wasn’t that long ago that Anthony Rizzo was a great offensive force. But he’s 34 now and coming off the worst season of his major league career. The Yankees believe Rizzo’s .244 average and relative lack of power were aberrations, caused by a line of demarcation/the aftereffects of a concussion he suffered. What if it was, instead, the start of a trend?

Re-read the above paragraph substituting the name of DJ LeMahieu for Rizzo and changing the age from 34 to 35. Then re-read it a third time substituting the name of Stanton. Now how do you feel about the Yankee offense?

If Stroman, Cortes and Rodón all pitch like they did over the final three months of 2023, and if Rizzo, LeMahieu and Stanton all continue their decline phase, the Yanks’ 82-80 record of 2023 may actually look good.

Yankees’ Most Realistic 2024 Season Scenario

The Yanks enter 2024 with an aging, often injured roster containing more productivity-based question marks than their fan base is likely willing to admit. It’s been a full decade since the Yanks failed to play a postseason game two years running. They’re probably better than the Rays and Jays, which makes them solid wild card contenders.

But given the questions presented by reliance on Stroman, Cortes, Rodón, LeMahieu, Rizzo and Stanton, this is a team that could also be set up for one of the epic falls of 2024. The Yanks, after all, finished 25th in run production last season. Judge, Soto, Cole and — to a lesser extent — Torres are all exceptional talents in their primes, fully capable of offsetting that potential downward spiral. They may have to.

Even more telling, Miley seemed to indirectly diss her father Billy Ray Cyrus when she left him out of her Grammy’s acceptance speech earlier this year, despite touching words for her mom. This came amid reports that Miley and Billy Ray aren’t even on speaking terms, but it seems like her godmother Dolly Parton wants to fix that.

Much has changed for Styles since his “X-Factor” days catapulted him to international stardom with the formation of One Direction, and then onto his solo career debut in 2017.

Styles, now touring for his third solo album, “Harry’s House,” opened up about the intense scrutiny into his private life, saying in his cover story interview with Rolling Stone published Monday: “I’ve never talked about my life away from work publicly and found that it’s benefited me positively.”
“There’s always going to be a version of a narrative, and I think I just decided I wasn’t going to spend the time trying to correct it or redirect it in some way,” he explained.
Styles, known for his gender-fluid fashion emulating icons David Bowie and Mick Jagger before him, has fielded harsh criticism of queerbaiting — when one benefits from appearing as queer without claiming the community explicitly.

Unprompted, Styles brushed off comments regarding his sexual identity.

“Sometimes people say, ‘You’ve only publicly been with women,’ and I don’t think I’ve publicly been with anyone. If someone takes a picture of you with someone, it doesn’t mean you’re choosing to have a public relationship or something,” he said.

“That obviously doesn’t make me feel good,” he told Rolling Stone.

“It’s obviously pretty unfathomable now to think, ‘Oh, you couldn’t be gay. That was illegal,’” Styles said about the role.
“I think everyone, including myself, has your own journey with figuring out sexuality and getting more comfortable with it,” he continued.

Brian took to Instagram to share the health diagnosis with his fans after getting an MRI scan to see where the source of the problem is coming from.

He explained: “I Had a lumbar MRI scan and finally discovered the root of the problem with my back pain!”

The 43-year-old shared a picture of the findings with the conclusion saying: “The L5 – S1 disc bulge with contact to both transiting S1 nerve roots.”

The L5-S1 is the lowest level of the disc of the spine, sitting at the junction between the lowest lumbar vertebrae and sacrum.

 

While it is not uncommon for the disc to bulge, it can cause terrible pain.

Brian explained his next step and said: “I just need to figure out what to do next.

“I’ve had it for years so I doubt it will get better without intervention.”

He captioned his post: “Big thanks to Pall mall medical for doing an MRI scan to finally figure out what’s wrong with my back.”

Brian’s fans all rushed to his post to wish him well on his recovery journey.

Natalie said: “Good news you finally have some answers. Fingers crossed they can find something for it to help you.”

Cristina wrote: “I am sure doctors will give you the best option for this. Please take care of yourself, and do whatever they recommend because your health is the most important thing.”

Claire commented: “It’s always good to finally find out what’s going on and know you’re not going mad!! Make sure you do as you’re told, your health is precious, as I well know.”

This comes after Mark Feehily was unable to perform five gigs of the Wild Dreams tour due to health reasons.

He previously battled pneumonia and it is unclear why he had to have surgery.

Mark had to take a few months off the stage to recover.

The Sligo native has recently reunited with his bandmates to perform on Good Morning America on Monday.
