  • What is the current reaction within the boxing world to John Fury’s call-out to Mike Tyson – Shame He Didn’t Get to Fight Tyson Fury

What is the current reaction within the boxing world to John Fury’s call-out to Mike Tyson – Shame He Didn’t Get to Fight Tyson Fury

The boxing world is buzzing after a very bold request was made. John Fury, father of the WBC World Heavyweight Champion Tyson Fury, has called out the legendary Mike Tyson. But why does Fury want to fight Tyson now? Didn’t both retire from the sport?

With a career in the late 80s and early 90s that lasted eight years, John Fury definitely knows his gloves. When he hung them up, his record stood at 8-4-1. But does it hold against ‘Iron Mike’? While Fury’s son, Tyson Fury, believes it’s a fair match, fans are not convinced.

Why does John Fury want to fight Mike Tyson?

Indeed, John Fury is eager to fight ‘Kid Dynamite’ but the reason is also quite fascinating. It is because fighting ‘Mike’ would be the iconic highlight of his life. John Fury had a surprisingly wholesome reasoning to share.

He said, “I did say to him in the podcast, me and you should do something and fight. You know what he said? ‘Yeah, I would love that’. When he said that to me, that is the highlight of my life. If I can get in the ring, punch-for-punch, whatever he wants to do if I get carried out or die on a stretcher, that is my life completed.”

His son, Tyson Fury, believes John Fury would wreck Mike Tyson in the ring. “My dad would beat him up,” is what Tyson Fury said. But fans have shared their verdict and ‘The Gypsy King’ may not be happy with it.

A fan started the conversation by highlighting the monetary gain for Fury. They wrote, “Translation: I want a big payday.” Then, another fan had a quite humorous input. According to them, ‘The Baddest Man on the Planet’ will put him in his place. The comment read, “Ha ha iron Mike will hit him so hard he will think he’s good.”

Next, a fan warned Fury about fighting Mike. The fan wrote, “Don’t do it Tyson is a legend, shame he didn’t get to fight Tyson Fury all the cr*p going around with him at the moment would have been blow away and the real champ prevailed.”

Several fans were convinced Mike Tyson would be difficult for Fury to handle. After all, Tyson had a much longer and explosive career. Out of the 50 fights he won, 44 were through KOs. Several of those KOs were in the initial rounds of the fight, which cemented his legacy as a dangerous boxer. On the other hand, John Fury has been in 13 professional bouts.

Furthermore, another user questioned the integrity of boxing. The comment said, “Is this really where boxing is heading??”

A follower even sent best wishes to John because they felt he would need it. The comment read, “Good luck mate you’ll need it.”

With what John Fury recently said, it is clear he admires Mike Tyson. In fact, speaking about ‘Iron Mike’, Fury once said, “I love the guy, I named my son after him.” This is something Mike Tyson is aware of.

  • The Untold Tragedy: Mike Tyson’s Mother’s Mysterious Demise and His Unusual Revelation

The Untold Tragedy: Mike Tyson’s Mother’s Mysterious Demise and His Unusual Revelation

‘Iron Mike’ is one of the greatest heavyweight boxers to ever grace the ring. At just 20 years old, he made history by capturing heavyweight gold against Trevor Berbick. For Tyson, it was a crowning moment that nobody saw coming, having just started his professional career less than two years prior.

However, one has to wonder if he would’ve had much success in the ring without his upbringing. Anyone who knows Tyson’s stories about his youth knows that his life was filled with violence and instability. Raised in Brownsville, Brooklyn, his father walked out on him when he was born.

As a result, Lorna Tyson was left to raise Mike Tyson and three other children. In 1982, she was tragically diagnosed with late-stage cancer, passing away that year. In an interview with ClubShayShay, the boxer explained how his mother’s passing was a good thing for him.

In a 2020 interview, Tyson stated:

“You know, one of the best things that ever happened to me is that my mother died. Because my mother would have ‘babied’ me. There’s no way I would ever got into a street fight. No way I would ever learn to stand up for myself.”
Mike Tyson opens up on relationship with his mother
While Mike Tyson believes his mother’s passing could’ve been a good thing professionally, it was crushing personally.

‘Iron Mike’ became heavyweight champion just four years after the passing of his mother. After Lorna’s passing, Tyson was eventually adopted by legendary trainer Cus D’Amoto. Over the following years, the trainer molded him into an all-time great.

However, in a 2010 interview with BleacherReport, Mike Tyson discussed his upbringing in depth. There, the boxer stated that he honestly didn’t really get to know his mother and that it was extremely crushed.

Furthermore, he didn’t feel like his mother really knew him much either. Well, she knew that Tyson was always causing trouble, but that was it. In the interview, he stated:

“I never saw my mother happy with me and proud of me for doing something. She only knew me as being a wild kid running the streets, coming home with new clothes that she knew I didn’t pay for. I never got a chance to talk to her or know about her. Professionally, it has no effect, but it’s crushing emotionally and personally.”

  • Mike Tyson posts footage of him training Francis Ngannou ahead of boxing debut against Tyson Fury

Mike Tyson posts footage of him training Francis Ngannou ahead of boxing debut against Tyson Fury

Footage of Mike Tyson training Francis Ngannou for his boxing debut against Tyson Fury has been shared by the heavyweight great.

MMA sensation Ngannou is making his debut inside the squared circle on Saturday October 28 against the current WBC world heavyweight champion.

The flare-up will take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and former UFC champion Ngannou has called upon one of the very best in the business to get him ready for Fury.

Tyson, the youngest heavyweight champion in history, has been training ‘Predator’ and posted snippets of their Las Vegas sessions on social media.

‘Iron’ Mike was seen mentoring on how to approach hitting uppercuts on the pads, throwing medicine balls into his abdomen and passing on words of wisdom.

At the very start of the clip, Tyson can be heard telling the Cameroonian, “You know this is just the beginning. You hear me, Francis? This is just the beginning.”

He also instructed him to relax his arms when on the pads, having given him a quite brilliant demonstration at the ripe old age of 57.

The clip was captioned: “We’re just getting started @francis_ngannou, remember that” and it appears as though we will see the full story of training as part of a series called “Molding a champion”.

Ngannou was released by UFC in June and made a lucrative move to the PFL (Professional Fighters League).

The 36-year-old has always had dreams of competing in boxing in addition to MMA and believes Tyson’s involvement in his camp is vital.

“Bringing Mike Tyson into my training camp is one of the best decisions I can make to prepare for Tyson Fury in the ring at this year’s Riyadh Season,” Ngannou said.

“Mike Tyson is an idol of mine in the sport. His experience and boxing IQ will be important to honing my technique under his guidance to win this super fight.”

Tyson has said a win for Ngannou will be a bigger upset than when Buster Douglas inflicted his first ever career defeat in the Tokyo Dome back in 1990.

However, undefeated Fury is full of confidence going into the slugfest, firing back and saying: “Everyone has a plan until… these Lancaster Bombers hit you square in the face come fight night.”

The bout will be contested under boxing rules but Fury”s WBC belt is not on the line.

  • Tyson Fury: Mike Tyson is a living legend, but it doesn’t matter who trains Ngannou for this fight, what matters is that I will knock him out quickly

Tyson Fury: Mike Tyson is a living legend, but it doesn’t matter who trains Ngannou for this fight, what matters is that I will knock him out quickly

WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury is not concerned with Mike Tyson being the head trainer for Francis Ngannou.

Ngannou tabbed Tyson, a former undisputed heavyweight champion, to train him for the upcoming non-title fight on October 28 in Saudi Arabia.

The former UFC champion is a tremendous underdog, as he makes his pro debut against the top heavyweight in the division.

Fury’s father John named him after Tyson – and now they find themselves in opposite corners.

While Fury has a lot of respect for Tyson, he believes the ‘head trainer factor’ will be irrelevant in the outome of the fight.

“Mike Tyson is a great guy. He is a living legend in sport. He is a living legend in boxing. He’s got a lot of knowledge on boxing, I think he will teach Francis a lot. But, I don’t [think] it would matter who trained Ngannou for this fight,” Fury told Daily Mail.

“He’s got to fight Tyson Fury and I’m not an easy opponent for anybody no matter who is training you. So yeah, everyone’s got a plan until they get punched in the face. That’s exactly what’s going to happen to Ngannou when I fight him. He’s going to have this big plan and then he’s going to get punched in the face and it’s going to go all out the window.”

Ngannou, however, has praised the work that’s being accomplished in camp with Tyson as his side.

“Having Mike Tyson present just makes you realize what is happening. You know that you have a fight and obviously you are serious about it but it seems like there is something missing,” Ngannou said.

“You’re like ‘Ok I have a fight but what else do I need’. Then you have Mike Tyson and he’s basically like the biggest boxing figure. It makes me think ‘Oh man, this is serious, very very serious. It doesn’t get more serious than this’. That alone brings you a lot of motivation. Even when you’re tired, even when you’re done for the day, I’m like ‘Man one more. I want to do one more’. I’m like ‘I just want to be like that man’. So all that stuff, has helped me mentally already.

“Then of course, there is the technical aspect that he is bringing too. We all know how technical Mike Tyson was so obviously having his tips and hearing from him is very helpful for me. I won’t have his boxing style but I can definitely learn a lot from him.”

  • Mike Tyson Vs Peter Mcneeley: The Unresolved Mystery Of The 1995 Match After Crowd Spot

Mike Tyson Vs Peter Mcneeley: The Unresolved Mystery Of The 1995 Match After Crowd Spot

Boxing fans have been captivated by a conspiracy theory suggesting that a ‘time traveller’ attended Mike Tyson’s fight against Peter McNeeley in 1995.

The match, which ended in the first round with Tyson’s dominant performance, has been revisited through a video that surfaced on YouTube in 2015. In the footage, an individual in the audience can be seen recording the fight on what appears to be a modern-day smartphone.

The reason behind the speculation is that the device in question features a camera lens located at the top left, resembling the positioning on contemporary phones, whereas cameras from that era typically had the lens in the center. This led some fans to believe that a ‘time traveller’ was present, capturing the action on a futuristic device.

However, further investigation into the matter has offered a plausible explanation. A report from HITC suggests that the device may not have been a smartphone after all, but rather a camera such as the Casio QV-10A or the Logitech Fotoman. Both cameras were released in 1995 and featured corner-mounted lenses. Another theory proposed by a Twitter user is that the device could have been a Fujix Simple HI8 Camcorder, released in 1993.

Despite these explanations, there are still those who remain convinced that the individual with the device was indeed a ‘time traveller’ who traveled back to witness Mike Tyson’s extraordinary skills firsthand. The debate continues among boxing enthusiasts, with the allure of the ‘time traveller’ theory adding an intriguing element to the story surrounding Tyson’s iconic fights.

After McNeeley, Tyson would engage in a brief but earnest series of serious bouts that momentarily positioned him as the prospective champion once again. He faced an undefeated Buster.

Two years ago, the boxing world found itself on the brink of an unexpected event: a real prizefight between Mike Tyson and Roy Jones Jr., the former “Kid Dynamite” versus the former “Captain Hook.” This unlikely match-up between two aging legends, well into their sixties, eventually took place as an exhibition bout, resulting in a split draw after eight rounds of action. However, what captivated fans even more than the fight itself was their reaction to the prospect of Jones and Tyson returning to the ring.

Twenty-five years later, Mike Tyson once again stepped into the ring, in a match which could also be termed a parody, though not a comeback. In a bid for some pre-fight publicity for “The Lockdown Knockdown,” Mike made an appearance on Discovery Channel’s “Shark Week,” the program billed as, believe it or not, “Tyson vs Jaws: Rumble on the Reef.” All the hype for the Tyson vs Roy exhibition match just proved once again that the Mike Tyson spectacle has never really ended. And it remains highly profitable. Make of it what you will, but Mike Tyson vs Roy Jones Jr. was the biggest boxing pay-per-view event of 2020, grossing over eighty million dollars in revenue.

  • What Anthony Joshua told Francis Ngannou after devastating knockout in Saudi Arabia

What Anthony Joshua told Francis Ngannou after devastating knockout in Saudi Arabia

Anthony Joshua made his feelings clear on Francis Ngannou after knocking him out inside two rounds in Saudi Arabia.

The Englishman knocked his opponent down on three separate occasions in the hotly-anticipated fight, with the third knockdown proving to be too much for Ngannou to withstand.

It was a stunning display from Joshua, who was tipped as heavy favourite for the contest but still expected to face stiff opposition in the form of a former UFC champion.

Ngannou gained confidence from his narrow split decision loss to Tyson Fury – who was watching the fight live – in October, and looked to take the fight to Joshua early.

But a bright opening 30 seconds of round one was followed by Joshua quickly taking control, and the two-time heavyweight champion knocked Ngannou down to the canvas before the first bell rung.

He landed a stunning right hand to the side of Ngannou’s head early in round two, which sent the French-Cameroonian fighter hurtling back down to the canvas.

And while he did rise to his feet, the damage had already been done, and another right hand from Joshua ended proceedings.

There was momentary worry about Ngannou’s condition after the knockout, as he required oxygen and attention from medical staff, but was able to rise to his feet to hear the final result.

And in his post-match interview, Joshua had some classy words for his opponent.

He began by saying: “You’re an inspiration. You’d beat a lot of people. Don’t leave boxing – don’t leave.

“Dewey [Cooper, Ngannou’s head coach] – don’t leave boxing, you know. This guy is the truth.

“If you [Ngannou] need anything, let me know. We’ll speak another time. I’d love to support your foundation. We’ll speak another time.”

Elsewhere, Joshua was also asked a potential fight with Fury, who takes on Oleksandr Usyk for the heavyweight titles in July.

His promoter Eddie Hearn opened the door to the fight, but told Fury that he had to beat Usyk first in order to make what would be one of the most anticipated fights in British boxing history happen.

For his part, Joshua remained tight-lipped on that prospect – but he’ll have both eyes on Fury vs Usyk later this year.

  • Tyson Fury keeps it real in reacting to Anthony Joshua’s knockout win over Francis Ngannou

Tyson Fury keeps it real in reacting to Anthony Joshua’s knockout win over Francis Ngannou

Tyson Fury reacted to Anthony Joshua’s sensational win over Francis Ngannou.

Tyson Fury gave an honest reaction after witnessing Anthony Joshua’s devastating knockout victory over Francis Ngannou in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Fury fought Ngannou at the Kingdom Arena back in October and despite winning a close decision on the judges’ scorecards, produced a sluggish display inside the squared circle.

The WBC world heavyweight champion was knocked down by the debuting Cameroonian in the third round and many felt as though he did not deserve to win.

Ngannou returned to the ring for a second time against Joshua on Friday evening and there was optimism given the level of performance he churned in last time out.

But two-time world heavyweight champion Joshua put on a boxing clinic and got the job done in just two rounds.

After two knockdowns, ‘AJ’ put the former UFC champion with a brutal right-hand that folded Ngannou.

He required medical treatment following on from the stoppage and was fortunately able to get to his feet.

Joshua moved to 28-3 professionally after a fourth win on the trot and made it clear afterwards that he wishes to finally fight Fury in what would arguably be the biggest bout in boxing history.

Fury, who has two bouts with Oleksandr Usyk scheduled for the undisputed heavyweight titles coming up, praised Joshua for his impressive win.

As per Michael Benson of talkSPORT, Fury told DAZN: “I’m sure Oleksandr Usyk will have something to say something about that. I had a s*** performance against Ngannou. AJ did absolutely fantastic and lit him up with a right hand. If he fights me after I beat Usyk twice then it will be a different game.”

The contest was initially pencilled in for February 17 but a cut suffered by Fury in sparring led to it being postponed.

The fight has been rearranged for May 18 but will remain at the Kingdom Arena.

  • Francis Ngannou gives intriguing response when asked who would win between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua

Francis Ngannou gives intriguing response when asked who would win between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua beat Francis Ngannou and Tyson Fury has been tipped as a potential next opponent.

Francis Ngannou has given his view on who he thinks would win out of a heavyweight bout between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua.

In Saudi Arabia, Joshua knocked Ngannou to the canvas on three separate occasions as he won in the second round as the referee intervened and ended the contest with victory for the former.

The win was the 34-year-old’s 28th victory out of 31 professional fights, 25 of which have been through knockouts, and three losses.

Former UFC star Ngannou has lost both of his professional boxing bouts, which came against Fury and now Joshua, though the former fight was a controversial split decision in which the 37-year-old floored the Gypsy King to the canvas.

Speaking after the fight, boxing promoter Eddie Hearn, who manages Joshua’s career, wants to see his fighter take on the victor of the upcoming heavyweight clash between Fury and Oleksandr Usyk, the latter of whom has beaten Joshua twice.

Speaking to DAZN, Hearn said: “I’m so proud of him because there was a huge amount of pressure.

“If we won this fight then he would fight the winner of Fury v Usyk. You’re looking at the number one heavyweight in the world.

“Tyson Fury please beat Usyk because you will get the biggest fight in the history of the sport. As a fighter, he’s an inspiration to young people.

Anthony Joshua could fight the winner of Oleksandr Usyk and Tyson Fury. (
    Getty)

“What I said would happen, happened. He destroyed Francis Ngannou. He’s a beast and I cannot wait for him to beat Tyson Fury.”

Fury himself admits that Joshua ‘did absolutely fantastic’ in his victory against Ngannou, but warned that if he faces AJ after the Gypsy King beats Usyk, he warned the Olympic gold medallist it will be a ‘different game’.

Having lost to both Fury and now Joshua, Ngannou is well qualified to give his view on which fighter he feels would come out on top of the pair were to clash in the ring.

And Ngannou admitted that though he was not sure, he would give the victory to Joshua at this present moment as he explained why the Watford-born fighter was able to defeat him.

Speaking to iFL TV after his loss, Ngannou said: “I don’t know, I would give it to AJ for right now.

“I think he got the right timing. It was about the timing, mostly.”

Should Fury beat Usyk, then it would surely set up a mouth-watering clash against Joshua, one which boxing fans have wanted to see for many years.

  • Revealed: The REAL reason Kanye West ‘forces’ Bianca Censori to wear X-rated outfits in a ‘travelling freak show’ (and ex Kim won’t be impressed)

Revealed: The REAL reason Kanye West ‘forces’ Bianca Censori to wear X-rated outfits in a ‘travelling freak show’ (and ex Kim won’t be impressed)

Kanye West’s Australian wife Bianca Censori has not been known for her modest outfits, from baring all in see-through ponchos to risking jail time for wearing sheer tights in Paris.

The 29-year-old architect, who wed the 46-year-old rapper in a private ceremony in December 2022, has had her fashion choices become increasingly more risky overtime, with those closest to her claiming it is down to Kanye’s alleged ‘controlling ways.’

Now experts have claimed there is more to the power couple’s ‘game plan’ and that is to out-shine ex-wife Kim Kardashian by ‘breaking the internet’ with the X-rated looks.

Mark Borkowski, one of the UK’s leading PR gurus, told MailOnline that Kanye West is using Bianca Censori to copy the publicity strategy pursued by his ex-wife Kim Kardashian – but pushing his ‘freak show’ to the very limit.

Using’s Bianca’s body and outfits to further his fame and wealth is making many uncomfortable and alienating brands, he said.

But Mr Borkowski said that despite allegations of controlling and coercive behaviour by the former rapper, Bianca may be very happy to go along with it.

He said: ‘Kanye understands outrage and is trying to break the Internet. I think a lot of people are starting to feel rather uncomfortable, despite everything he’s said, about that he feels he can do whatever he wants with his partner.

‘There is a line here drawn between those who believe this is control and those who believe that this woman is complicit and fully involved with this freak show. But it is a weird freak show that everybody is engaging with and some are enjoying these quite explicit photos.

‘I think we’ll be looking back at this if a rift appears between them as something that is something exploitative. Some of the dresses are built for craving for publicity.

Kanye has been sharing a slew of highly sexualised images of his wife, despite slamming his ex Kim Kardashian for ‘dressing too sexy’ during his stint as a gospel artist.

When Kim wore a custom corset-style minidress made of silk organza and dripping crystals by French designer Thierry Mugler at the 2019 Met Gala, Ye openly slammed the reality TV icon’s ensemble.

‘I didn’t realize that that was affecting my soul and my spirit as someone that’s married and loved, the father of what’s about to be four kids,’ Ye said about Kim’s outfit choice.

‘A corset is a form of underwear. It’s hot. It’s like, it’s hot for who, though?’ You are my wife, and it affects me when pictures are too sexy,’ he told his wife.

Mr Borkowski continued: ‘You can only assume this is a way of Kanye keeping his name at the forefront and on everybody’s lips and also a statement to his ex-wife Kim who engaged in the same publicity, which he is taking to another level but she did with a lot more style and panache. It wasn’t as direct as this.

‘As we revaluate those who exploited their partners in the past, this is a high watermark.

‘I feel uncomfortable but you are looking at someone who can generate a conversation, Kanye knows how to do that.

‘But I can’t see a strategy here. He has pushed himself so far away from brands with his anti-Semitic remarks and outrage that there has to be a limit where he doesn’t want one’.

The pair have hit the headlines for their attention seeking outfit choices and bizarre outings of late.

Their most shocking excursion came when when they were spotted enjoying an amorous moment on a water taxi in Venice, with Kanye exposing his bare buttocks in front of gawking tourists.

Images of the couple showed the American rapper seated at the back of the river taxi while his Australian bride placed her head in his lap.

Last month she wore a sheer poncho with nothing underneath to a music studio, although branding across the front of the coat helped shield her ample chest, she was forced to place her hand over her groin to protect her modesty.

She has even been snapped heading to a sun tanning appointment in tiny black shorts that have a small hole visible at the front of the pants, which is designed to accommodate sex toys.
